I hired them on short notice, Milo was professional and gave me a very detailed estimate as well as clear expectations of what he can do and what he could not do. His meeting was far more detailed than the other companies I spoke with. On moving day we had done all of our own packing but we easily had over 60 boxes in addition to all of our large furniture, outdoor power equipment, etc. . The team that moved us took incredible precautions to prevent damage to our belongings. They also provided protective materials to the floors, doors and stair railings. The team was friendly and kept busy, knowing we were anxious to get to our new home. I was amazed at how quickly they got the trucks unloaded when we arrived and were just as careful at the end of the day as they were at the beginning. He was immediately responsive to my initial call and after talking through the details he provided me with a very reasonable quote to load a truck (his truck) and move our household 160 miles. Other companies over-priced the job - probably because they didn't want the work - or couldn't accommodate the timeframe I needed. Milo showed up on time and was ready to rock and roll. He probably could have loaded up faster without me in the way but within a couple of hours we were ready to roll. He got to the destination before me due to major traffic problems and by the time I arrived he had nearly unloaded the entire truck. We are very glad that we got connected with Tyler and the team for our move from Charlottesville to Dallas. The pricing was competitive with other larger national moving companies but the service and communication was far beyond what we found elsewhere. They took great care with making sure our items arrived safely including our antique breakfront. Everything was wrapped and protected with heavy moving blankets and bubble wrap. We were able to work out a specific delivery date that worked for us rather than a 3-4 day window that other companies were quoting, and they were even able to complete the delivery 1 day ahead of schedule. We appreciated the updates and communication throughout the process so we always knew where the truck was and when they were arriving. Our family had a rather complex situation: my elderly mother sold her house in New York in October, but her new home in Virginia was still under construction. So, we had to move all of her belongings into Milo's warehouse, and then wait for her new house to be built. Milo and his team unloaded a large truck from New York, safely stored mom's belongings, and then, a month later, they moved her stuff into her new home, AND also made a third trip to her storage unit. Hi Milo, Just a quick note to let you know that the two gentlemen that helped with the move yesterday (2/7/16) were absolutely phenomenal. My granddaughter has anxiety disorder and this move was most stressful for her and they made it much better for her and she told me that they did a great job unloading and putting everything right where she wanted it they even set her bed up. I told her they would, but I guess she didn't think Grandma knew what she was talking about. So if you would tell them for me that I appreciate it so much and that they were such a help I do thank them so much. They did introduce themselves, I think the young black man was Kevin and the white guy was well, Guy. I hope that is right. Wow! Milo was extremely easy to correspond with and very quick to respond with a quote. The guys that moved us were GREAT. Super nice, kept calling me ma'am, wrapped everything in blankets and worked hard to get it all loaded in 2 hours!!! I reached out to 3 moving companies - one never responded to my online quote request, the other responded a week late (and our job was a few weeks out so I couldn't wait). Reading the negative feedback it seems consistent about people filing claims for damage, etc. I've moved a TON and damage & loss happens. It happens when you move yourself, it happens when you hire someone. It's more than reasonable and more than clear in the paperwork that you have 14 days to notify them of issues and the negative feedback seems to be those outside of those 14 days. read more

My experience with Milo the Mover exceeded my expectations. Milo was great to work with. He was wiling to meet me the same day I called to provide an in-home quote. He was also able to provide a quote after 10-15 minutes of showing him what needed to be moved. His prices are very reasonable as well. Milo was awesome! I was left in the lurch by another mover who had rescheduled me two days in a row and the third day was not going to show up until 3 pm after promising me an 8 am pick up. I called around and at 11 am, Milo's team said they could get to my house by 1 pm and do a same day move from Charlottesville to Charlotte with only two hours notice. Milo himself came and did the moving with two helpers. They finished moving me in at midnight and still drove back to Charlottesville that night. I call that dedication and customer service. I am 100% percent pleased with Milo the Mover. He and his crew did a wonderful job taking good care of our things. No damage at all. They stacked and re-stacked scores of boxes in our storage area because in mid-move we changed our mind on how we wanted them stored. No complaint...they just did it. Milo and his crew actually moved me twice, once from home to storage September 11,2017) and then from storage to my new home (November 29,2017). I hired Milo to help us move our larger items this past weekend. He was incredibly competitive with his flat rate pricing, which you just can't beat. They showed up on time and ready to go. Unfortunately, it was raining pretty heavy that morning, but Milo went above and beyond to make sure he had a plan in place to keep my house as clean as possible, which went very well. Milo and his team were not only reasonably priced and efficient, but very pleasant & personable to deal with...which can be a quality hard to come by I realize from previous moving experiences. It was a short move from Crozet out toward White Hall, but very involved none-the-less. They took great pains to pack and move everything as if it were their own. We had some items that we were looking to get rid of (beds, BBQ grill etc) and Milo and crew loaded them up and took to Goodwill & Habitat for Humanity...nice touch. What a great experience! They were extremely professional, courteous, and at times pretty funny. They really seemed to enjoy what they were doing and took the utmost care with or belongings.
