Multi use sports fields, swing sets, toddler play areas, great spaces for picnicking, and for my purpose, Dog exploring. My black lab mix has to sniff frequently to feel gratification. So our trips to Bowden Park happened roughly once a week so he can read all the "Social PEEdia.". Regardless of what time or day it is, you'll always find people enjoying the trail, walk, quiet, picnic, entertaining children, or using one of the several permanent gazebo structures to host a celebration. I think it's still possible to rent out the lodge for overnight stays and private parties. I would defer to them to confirm that There's a little chapel on site and I've never been inside, but it looks absolutely adorable. This could be a great place for a casual country wedding celebration and picnic in place of those high priced extravagant weddings. This is our third visit this month and I have failed to report in two other times. If you have a dog, this is a great place to visit but make sure you bring your 6 foot leash. It is mandatory Like all parks in the county, the park closes at dusk. Be respectful and carry your trash out with you if you can't find a receptacle of which there are many. And by all means, clean up after your pet and your children. Keep the Park beautiful for everyone. The location of Bowden Park is on the edges of the Hudson River. Driving…read morein leads to many things to do, a playground for the kids, and two big fields with one providing a baseball and soccer field. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park along with pavilions. The pavilions are in great shape and in use. Bathrooms are provided in the main building. Also, be on the lookout for upcoming mini concerts, which are performed on the hilly field just as you enter. There are a total of six trails that are assigned a color, starting at one point and ending at a different location (with some reconnecting with the same path), except the blue trail, which does a loop, and also the Wappingers Greenway Trail, which passes through. I've enjoyed exploring, with decent views and scenery. The intersections of different paths need to be marked clearly, and instead, the sign is further in. Reading the map is key to not getting lost, which Bowdoin Park provides. There's a lot to offer for all ages, and it's a destination anyone won't regret along the Hudson River with a touch of nature.

Coming into Milton Landing Park is quick scenic and easy to find, with two being a pro. There's a decent amount of parking, but enough to fill some in. The best part about it is, that there's plenty of space to move around as a pedestrian. Across the railroad tracks is a field of grass to explore with benches and also two docks to walk up onto the Hudson River. Be careful of the winds, especially when wearing any head gears. On the parking lot side, there is a building that was once a train station and remains still to this day. Near it, there are three panic tables to sit at an old train track to walk on, and a building that cuts the track off. It's a wonderful place to kill time and watch some freight trains come by with a ding sound at the crossing, instead of a gate.

The only issue is that some people show up with dogs who are not socialized and are aggressive and they do nothing when their dog is attacking others. I'm not sure how often they go, but some other dog owners mentioned that it has gotten worse. If you get there and it's empty take advantage of it. The best days are the sunny days when it's early morning or evening!

I really appreciate this as my dog is an anxiety prone rescue. While we lived in NYC we couldn't go into any of the dog parks as you never know anything about the dogs. Also, the park is very big so the dogs have space to stay to themselves unlike the small parks in NYC. Everyone I have met is very kind and helpful. I have found out about such great restaurants, contractors, other dog friendly places, vet clinics and a wonderful doggy daycare place.

Secondly thankfully this is a private dog park that anyone can join for an annual fee. Makes me feel safe that only neutered/spayed dogs with all appropriate vaccinations come here. I'm happy to pay $55 a year knowing that all the dogs that come here are fully vaccinated and fixed. Well worth it. I go almost daily, I've yet to see a fight.

Coming in, I saw a sign naming the park and also another advertising a holiday event (which I found surprising to still be up). Also, a soccer field was visible to the left and further in, a small parking lot which has a dog park located in front of it, reasonable sized. Up the hill, without noticing, there was additional parking with a huge field. No issues with that overall. The trail had a light blue symbol along the driveway, but the signature was awful, especially coming to the parking lot, you'll have find your way which is across the field into the woods and I did have to ask someone where it is to get that answer. With that, the trail looked in trouble condition; overgrown, hilly, and wet. I only stepped in the trail at that one and also toward the park entrance, where both went to the woods. What's worse, there is no map provided in this park which is absolutely ridiculous. It comes down to that overall, including other major improvements, such as, better signage, and also maintenance that needs to be done. The only way of finding the map is on the website, which I mentioned in the first paragraph. Even looking at the trail map seemed a bit off. Getting those fixed will definitely up my rating, despite the sporting and dog park having no issues.

It also has the Arboretum connected to it. It is a nice hidden treasure of the Campbell Hall and Montgomery area.

There is separation for larger and smaller dogs but the little ones can join the larger. There is a well with water and a dog pool, a pavilion for shade for the parents but also several chairs to sit around. Lots of toys and skill building fixtures. Our Harry absolutely loves it here and dogs are friendly as well as the parents. In the hotter months there is a stream/brook that runs parallel with a gate to access if your dog is ok to take a dip(water depth is shallow). Have fun if you explore it!

If anyone is deeply into nature despite great views, this is the place to come to. There is not a…read morelot of parking space, but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem to fill up. A map is provided just as you enter, followed by a gravel path going uphill. There is no public access for vehicles on this part. Along the way, you'll see letters indicating trails. These trails end up doing a loop, eventually meeting up with the gravel. The trails provide arrows on trees to follow the path, and it's marked clearly. At the end of the uphill on the gravel, there is additional space assuming for park employees to park or if it gets packed. Continuing, the gravel turns into a grassy trail, splitting to the left and right. Both of those end up going toward 9D into private property. On the left split, there is a bridge that crosses a stream that leads to Wappingers Creek. The only highlights I enjoyed were that and the trail that parallels the stream. On the right split, there's not too much to take in except paralleling the stream on the upper side. Two suggestions I do wish is to update signatures regarding trail letters (some were messing) and provide the letter along the way. Taking a photo of the map is key to make the trip enjoyable.
