The only issue is that some people show up with dogs who are not socialized and are aggressive and they do nothing when their dog is attacking others. I'm not sure how often they go, but some other dog owners mentioned that it has gotten worse. If you get there and it's empty take advantage of it. There are no signs so...... look for the "Town of Warwick Sports Complex" sign (it's across from the "Warwick Town Park") and follow the signs to the Lacrosse Field. In other words, when you take the turn for the Sports Complex, you'll need to go behind the baseball field (the roads veers to the left), you'll pass the hockey rink on your right, then you'll see the dog park on your right, across the way from the lacrosse field. I really appreciate this as my dog is an anxiety prone rescue. While we lived in NYC we couldn't go into any of the dog parks as you never know anything about the dogs. Also, the park is very big so the dogs have space to stay to themselves unlike the small parks in NYC. Everyone I have met is very kind and helpful. I have found out about such great restaurants, contractors, other dog friendly places, vet clinics and a wonderful doggy daycare place.

Secondly thankfully this is a private dog park that anyone can join for an annual fee. Makes me feel safe that only neutered/spayed dogs with all appropriate vaccinations come here. I'm happy to pay $55 a year knowing that all the dogs that come here are fully vaccinated and fixed. Well worth it. I go almost daily, I've yet to see a fight.

There is a well with water and a dog pool, a pavilion for shade for the parents but also several chairs to sit around. Lots of toys and skill building fixtures. Our Harry absolutely loves it here and dogs are friendly as well as the parents. In the hotter months there is a stream/brook that runs parallel with a gate to access if your dog is ok to take a dip(water depth is shallow). Have fun if you explore it!

There is basically 4 different areas in this park - a small dog area, 2 large dog areas and a short wooded path that you can walk on with your dog. Sometimes I've been here where they close half the larger dog area, I'm not sure why this is. In the parking lot, there is a port-a-john for us humans, and trash can/doggie bags for the pups. Everyone seems to be really responsible here with their dog which is a major benefit. So our trips to Bowden Park happened roughly once a week so he can read all the "Social PEEdia.". Regardless of what time or day it is, you'll always find people enjoying the trail, walk, quiet, picnic, entertaining children, or using one of the several permanent gazebo structures to host a celebration. I think it's still possible to rent out the lodge for overnight stays and private parties. I would defer to them to confirm that There's a little chapel on site and I've never been inside, but it looks absolutely adorable. This could be a great place for a casual country wedding celebration and picnic in place of those high priced extravagant weddings. This is our third visit this month and I have failed to report in two other times. If you have a dog, this is a great place to visit but make sure you bring your 6 foot leash. It is mandatory Like all parks in the county, the park closes at dusk. Be respectful and carry your trash out with you if you can't find a receptacle of which there are many. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park along with pavilions. The pavilions are in great shape and in use. Bathrooms are provided in the main building. Also, be on the lookout for upcoming mini concerts, which are performed on the hilly field just as you enter. There are a total of six trails that are assigned a color, starting at one point and ending at a different location (with some reconnecting with the same path), except the blue trail, which does a loop, and also the Wappingers Greenway Trail, which passes through. I've enjoyed exploring, with decent views and scenery. The intersections of different paths need to be marked clearly, and instead, the sign is further in. Reading the map is key to not getting lost, which Bowdoin Park provides. There's a lot to offer for all ages, and it's a destination anyone won't regret along the Hudson River with a touch of nature.

Not a lot of crowds, plenty of places to have a picnic if that's your thing. The flowering trees are already dropping their leaves and turning green. Tulips are starting to sprout up everywhere. I like coming here to take take photos and hang out. I'm teaching my kids how to photograph and working on their posing skills.
