There are picnic tables and lots of trees for shade. (It can get messy from the geese sometimes.) There are also a baseball diamond and basketball area for the bigger kids. If you drive past the parking lot there is a gravel road that will take you nearer a marshy lake, which is a nice area to see the sun rise on occasion. the park is open only from sunup to sundown, so keep that in mind. Now, there can be alot of geese at some points during the year, so be mindful of them, especially when they are mating, they can be a little vicious. There are also alot of deer in the area, and they often take a stroll though.

There is plenty of parking to find, but it expects to be fairly packed during spring/summertime. There is a lake just as you leave along with a playground. Going toward the woods, you'll come across a trail that is marked red. Some of the signatures are not clear as we happened to go off the trail for a bit, but we managed to get back on. Walking further, the lake is still visible until crossing to another trail that is called the white trail. There are a lot of hills on this part, which eventually leads to another trail. I'll have more info about it in my update.

The main attraction that can't be missed is the big pavilion, with two picnic tables located right at the perimeter. There is also a smaller pavilion located a little east of the big one, holding a couple of seats as well. Way out to the west, there is a baseball field and a soccer field a bit closer. Just to note, this park is open to the public, but with parties going on, expect this place to be crowded. A playground is spotted right at the eyes, which is a decent size for a lot of fun. Just to the south and east of it, there is a soccer field and a basketball court. A path is indicated along these areas, with one going around the soccer field and which leads to a lake doing a loop. To the side of the path, there is a trail marked green lasting 1.8 miles leading to another lake. Another trail indicated blue meets at the end of the green. I was really impressed with the signs marked along the way, as more trails I've visited need to provide them. It was worth the trip to check out, and can't wait to return again.

When we were 6 minutes away from it, we heard shots, maybe a shotgun...a few. The sounds were more loud as we got closer, so we decided to turn around and not see the park. The road was also from the main road, it becomes a small dirt road. So all in all, not safe at all...do not waste your time here. #auraiamnyc

It is stocked at times, so be sure to bring a fishing pole for the kids. They have large fields, playgrounds, tennis courts and more. A guarded beach and paddle boats (in poor shape) are available in the summer. Charcoal grill are scattered throughout and pavilions are available for rend through the town.

Vendors selling vinyl albums, jewelry, and other tchotchkes. Many have activities for children, quite a few food trucks, even one from Outback. There is limited seating to enjoy a real meal. The weather cooperated. Limited street parking, and the local PD was giving out tickets to violators. Otherwise, it was pleasant. The Messier homestead was open for guided tours and just to look around.

This is a village park which contains a big field with some hills and gravel that does a big circular loop around the main building. The nice part about it is there are a lot of trees to provide shade. There are also benches that are provided throughout the park along with trash cans. It's a great place to go to if you need a day's rest or finding new places to enjoy nature. There is also a museum that contains the history of the two Dutchmen who settled here during the 18th century. Due to COVID, it is currently closed.
