The indoor stuff got shut down for COVID19 but the grounds are still being taken care of and there's more than just the inside sports. There's a decent disc golf course (tricky), three soccer fields (two on one side, one way on the other), a nice little hike, and the area is popular with dog owners, most of whom clean up after their best friends. For what this is, this place is pretty awesome. What this place is is: A large sports complex that has the capacity to house adult recreational soccer, kids' volleyball, roller derby, high school baseball, etc., etc. It's owned and operated by the Milwaukee County Parks System. Essentially, it's a giant field house that can accommodate any and all types of sporting matches you can think of (save for swimming, ice skating, etc.) You get the idea. A giant giant indoor space can be divided into four different spaces, and rental rates are relatively inexpensive. For larger spectator events, the Sports Complex staff will do parking, security, concessions, etc. There are large-ish locker rooms and ample bathrooms for a place of this size. They have bleachers. The have outdoor fields as well for soccer, baseball, and whatever else you could want to play outside. We played our first four Bruiser home seasons here, and despite the fact that it's not exactly centrally located (it's all the way out in Franklin), it suited our growing needs just fine. (Now, however, we've moved to the US Cellular Arena, as we could no longer fit our fan base into the Sports Complex.) It's a nice addition to our parks system, and a great place for kids/amateur/recreational sporting matches. It was great for our BCB home season too, but change is good, too. read more

The annual Thanksgiving weekend craft fair that used to be at state fair grounds moved here in 2012. Capacity-wise, this place is comparable to State Fair Park's indoor hall, though it lacks in the amenities like the plentiful concessions at the other venue. It's a bit out of the way, located down a winding road that looks like it will take you into the woods. If it wasn't for a large sign off of Ryan Road (Rt. 100), you wouldn't know it's back there. While the craft fair had plenty to offer in previous years and had most of our favorite vendors from previous years, I wonder if they moved to this venue for cheaper overhead costs. Parking here is plentiful and free, where you'd pay $5 at State Fair Park. However, you may find yourself walking a longer distance since it is a long and narrow stretch of lot from the main entrance doors. A pretty amazing sight, like a sea of paver bricks, rather than asphalt as most lots have. I prefer the State Fair Park facility overall, but I won't mind coming out here again next year if the annual craft fair is back here in 2013. read more

Not far from downtown MKE is a humongous sports complex that not only holds sporting events but also doubles as a venue for shows. We recently went to the antique show and walked around the facility. The space is perfect for what they do. Although parking can be a bit of a bear we made it in and out with relative ease. All in all the space serves exactly what it does well. read more

I've been here a couple of times so far for an indoor winter Ultimate Frisbee league. We can play three games at once along with a soccer practice curtained off on the forth court. The courts are rubbery gym floor and they have basketball hoops, soccer goals, volleyball nets, etc. but they're also good about clearing those out of the way for us ultimate players.
