An array of food truck options amongst a sea of vendors. I selected the Bánh mì vietnamese street food. The MKE Night Market, an event to be present at during the last days of summer 2024. The spotlight on Native American cultural dance was beautiful. A collective of assorted experiences...from the S'mores roasting by the street fire pit to the brotha with a live chicken resting on his shoulder and a second chicken in his hand. I strolled throughout the event at least twice and finally rested near the Vel Phillips plaza while eating street food and sipping on my beverage.

Wowza what a great night market bringing downtown to life! So many fun things to do and enjoy including live music and everything local. Get there early to find parking as this was my second attempt in a month but can't wait to go back!

I just discovered the night market last year and it quickly became one of my favorite festivals! It's only 4 times a year- once a month on Wed in June, July, August and September so it feels a little more special Than if it was once a week. There's all sorts of vendors - from local stores selling at tents, to more mom and pop shops selling jewelry, artwork, soap, plants, clothing and everything else in between. To call it just a shopping market though would be unjust, as there's all sorts of food trucks, food stands, dj's, dancing troupes, giant chess boards to play with, instagrammable MKE signs and one of my personal favorites - the Graef-sponsored smores fire pit. They provide the graham's, Hersheys and skewered marshmallow - you just take it to the fire pit and make your free smore. Messy but so fun. I believe you can also tour the new milwaukee symphony theater for free too (the building is right in the middle of the market) . By the 3rd st market hall, you can usually find some (although occasionally makeshift) seating to eat whatever goodies you buy. Other than that- the news often is on hand broadcasting from here, the bucks staff is usually in the crowd in one fashion or another, you'll indubitably run into people you know, and there's something about that view of downtown at dusk that just makes milwaukee look all sparkly and stardust-y. You should check it out!

This years night market was bigger than I have ever seen it before! So many food trucks, a variety of vendors, and lots of people to enjoy it! Only once a month, (June, July, August, and September), its a fun stop for your Milwaukee Summer bucket list. Its so great to see all the different vendors and food each year. This last market had a karaoke stand, various shops selling Milwaukee art, soap, and other handmade goods. Tons of food truck to chose from, we tried the tots (one of our favorites) and the brisket mac and cheese. Yum! Whenever I am able to, I make sure to stop by for a bit. It's an easy stop after work! Great music, good food, fun activities, and people watching too!

Stopped by the night market to check it out. Lots going on. First time and it was kind of confusing as to the layout. Food trucks are scattered throughout the event and are vendors and whatnot. If they had all the food trucks in one area it would have been nice but maybe they did it the way they did to spread things out. Weather was gorgeous. Nice to hangout downtown and do things other than bars.

Milwaukee is so lucky to have this summer event in the heart of downtown. So much to see, explore, eat and support! Go Milwaukee!

How amazing is the NEWaukee Night Market? So amazing. Live music, great food, amazing local artisans--what's not to love? Plus, the fact that it happens in the evening is awesome. For those of us who always lament missing morning markets, this is your market! The Night Market happens one evening a month June-September. We went this week for their June evening and it was on and poppin'. We grabbed some street tacos, chips and guac, as well as some fresh squeezed lemonade (there's plenty of opportunity for adult beverages as well) and did a leisurely wander. So many wonderful things to peruse--candles made with old booze bottles, upside down cut wine bottle herb gardens, flowers, skin care, and clothing (the list goes on and on). There's also huge, street checker and chess boards for those who care to partake as well as fire pits to keep the chill off (wasn't an issue the night we were there, but nice to know if it's ever chilly). Get to it!

Newaukee night market is one awesome event. I like to think of it as a true representation of all things Milwaukee in general has to offer. Held on the streets of Wisconsin Ave by the Shops of Grand Avenue this event showcases a plethora of local food, talent and crafts. Every time I've been down to it there is this magical aura in the air that just feels so good and makes this particular event stand out. This night was the last night for the 2017 season. Summer was back in full swing for Wisconsin as the temps were near 80 beating expectations as a whole for this time of year. The market was a bustling place with fire pits scattered in one section and people making smores in the middle of the street. The diversity could be seen as I saw a little bit of every body. This is what Newaukee and Milwaukee is all about. People dancing, people eating and people just out and about taking it all in. Good times to be had by all! Till next year...

West Wisconsin Avenue has come alive due to the night market held one Wednesday each month from June through September. While the market started out fairly small in 2014, it has grown into a great, vibrant experience. Admission is free and the closed off street has been filled with vendors, games, music, food and drink. Flavored popcorn, popsicles, candies, food trucks, coffee, beer, wine, jewelry, candles, bath products and scented oils, clothing, art, fortune tellers...you never know what you will find, but it's worth a visit! You like games? How about bags, and comically large versions of jenga and chess? A street side alley turned into a mini bowling alley? Check. Roast your own s'mores at a fire on a side street. Pet some dogs available for adoption from the Wisconsin Humane Society. Spin a wheel o'prizes and see what you can win. Dance to the music. If you enjoy an energetic festival, take a stroll down West Wisconsin Avenue during the night market.

Great scene at the night market tonight.

Pros- One of the most diverse festivals in Milwaukee, good food vendors, good music lineups, good artisan vendors Cons- Overly Crowded, sprawling, a drunk fest with music (as an aside?), a surcharge on credit cards at Festival drink tents, people getting overserved Dryhootch Veterans house had a great R&B Veterans band, good food- Nomad staff were working hard and had a great party out back, as well. The main music stages have good local acts in a variety of styles, such as Negative Positive, Browns Crew, GuhGuhGoldDuhDuh (haha) throughout the day. I got some great tacos, and Elotes Mexican Street Corn. There is a lot of good food vendors here. Brady Street Festival is really great for the bars on Brady- as they set up shop w/slushies, liquor drinks, Mai Tais and the like, and the bars are bustling. But aye, there's the rub- our crowd of music dancers and watchers of De La Buena got physically plowed by people who by 7pm were already...plowed! I enjoyed getting caught up in a parade with the UW marching band, Festa dignitaries in old cars, some Firenze drill team, and oversized puppets. There's lots of wine here, but few good beer options. Food options are limited and fairly pricey. I had a good but small entree of lasagna w/vodka sauce from diCarlo's, and also some excellent roast corn. Of the better non-Italian entertainment, the Heart cover band Dog 'n' Butterfly was excellent, and Gin Blossoms weren't bad, as their set overlapped an excellent fireworks display that could be heard for miles and miles, apparently.

Parking was a wild time, as they were directing people to an entirely different lot down the way, so it was a bit of hike to get to the entrance. Once we parked, we waited in like for 10 minutes or to get through the gates. I was tipped off the downland the Bavarian's app ahead of time, which got me $5 off my entry (and it was free from my little kiddo in tow). If you're looking for all the great German beer, German music, and German cuisine, this is your place! It's so fun to see how many attendees dress to theme in their lederhosens, dirndls, and hats. Some of the staff dress up as well, and of course those preforming on stage! We came to find out this isn't the greatest fest to take young kids, as the crowds are big, the lines are long, and the music (be it so fun and festive), is really loud. I'm sure we would have stayed longer if it was an adult-only trip. In any case, the food and drink are fare price. I'm now regretting not ordering the traditional pretzel and sausage options, but splitting a tasty platter of tenders and fries with my son hit the spot. Being pregnant, I'm not drinking, but friends we were with has nothing but great things to say about their German pints. The beer steins are of course an option which is a fun touch. Hot tip: if you can book a table reservation ahead of time, do so! That's what we did and it was a good call since this place is poppin. Happy official Fall! Enjoy!
