Good breakfast place although we were there for lunch. It was very conveniently located near our hotel and my children were already hungry, so it was the place to go. Service was good and fast. The lady waiter was very kind to us and also had told us if we wanted the marmalade for the toast, its extra to pay. I appreciate her honesty. This is an old school London Italian cafe. The sort of place you come for the atmosphere, homely food and friendly efficient service rather than the decor. Don't get me wrong, the wooden tables rattan chairs and basic decor may have seen better days but this place is spotless and comforting. Like any good Italian cafe they have footie on the TV and it's a warm inviting place to hang out even if you only want coffee and pastries. The menu ranges from salads to meat, fish and pasta with something for everyone. While my spaghetti Bolognese was competent rather than outstanding, it was a good plate of warming, tasty food for very little money and every dish that came out to the tables around me looked and smelled good. I really liked Mimo's, I left feeling comforted and full and am glad it's right next door to my regular London hotel. I will drop by often if I am in the area. read more

Went in for lunch on a Saturday. Small place with table service although it looks like counter service when you walk in. Had two decent sandwiches, an order of chips and a hot tea. The portions were large... we had to take the remainder home. All that with friendly service for under £10. Seriously. Will definitely try it again for breakfast or dinner. read more

This sits on a small segment of the street that seems to be a local gathering spot. Not like the other tourist stops around Paddington Station. I sat outside under their awning and had a hearty English breakfast for under 5 pounds. The experience was rounded out by the animated discourse coming from the group of locals at the Fish & Chips pub 2 doors down. It was so pleasant that I returned for a pork chop dinner. Before I write this review.. I shall mention that this was the place we decided to go to after we had horrible service at Peking Seoul. But Wow. Just.. WOW.. This place is kind of like a hole in the wall. Friggin amazing! Me and my friend was craving italian food, and one of the best places I found was Kitchen Italia in Covent Garden, but we didn't want to go out of our way... so we decided to just walk around the Paddington area and found this place. Food: Upon entering, the place looked like any other typical shop.. or so I thought. I sat down and noticed the decor, and the place had a very homely feel. Instantly, we were greeted by the waitress and the chef. They were all VERY VERY helpful. I was friggin starving and wanted to eat, but everything sounded really good. So I ended up asking the waitress and she had recommended me the Tortalini Funghi 5.45 quid (Tortalini filled with cheese, fresh mushrooms in a creamy sauce. DELICIOUS. The best I have EVER had. The pasta was fresh as in it was just cooked, and tasted homemade and not straight from the freezer. Also as a side, I had garlic bread which was 2.50 quid for 4 thick slices that was melt in your mouth delicious! I would recommend asking for a side of pesto and spreading it on top of the bread. The minced meat pastry I thought was decent.. but it felt very filling. My friend had ordered a salami on ciabatta bread. The salami was SUPER fresh and tasty. Every bite was full of goodness. I was very curious how their portions were at their price... but it turned out that we had alot more than what we asked for. Our bill's total turned out to be 20 quid. 10 quid each? Not bad at all.. and we left STUFFED. I would recommend ordering 2 main dishes, garlic bread, and drinks... your bill will be about 14-16 quid. Not a bad deal at all. Service: Top notch. Anything I asked for, was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I really had appreciated it, because Peking Seoul had me pissed off. They really lightened my mood. There is only one thing I dislike about this place is the restroom accommodation. It's literally in the corner and you have to get past people by asking them to scoot in so you could open the door. I'm sure they could deal with one less table. But that's okay, they still deserve a 5 star rating! read more

This place looks like the café of a suburban shopping centre was moved to central London, with all the staff and everything. However the unpretentious setting shouldn't fool you: this place serves decent coffee, and a cheap full English brekkie that seems to be quite popular in the area. While you watch a morning show on tv and sip on your coffee the friendly staff will make sure you have all you need. They really seem to care about the quality of service, which is quite surprising considering most customers are not regulars. Will come again and try to talk with strangers. read more

Nice little spot very close to Paddington Station. Had a long night of pub crawling with a friend I was visiting down here so I naturally missed my hotels breakfast. Very happy to come across this place while taking a stroll in the rain and discover they still served breakfast (about 2pm). First time having and English breakfast but I fell in love with the beans and cooked tomatoes being served with eggs, bacon, sausage, bacon, and mushrooms. Not sure how the Brits eat it but I enjoyed it all mixed together. Place was small but welcoming and the food and coffee were top notch. Would recommend this spot to anyone in the area needing to take a small break and refuel. read more

When we looked at the menu the food was rather inexpensive which was a big plus. I ordered the spaghetti with a meat sauce. Food displayed on the front sandwich and take-out counter looks so good you can't help But to order something, even if you already ate. Came in at 11:00 for breakfast and the place was already packed. Service is friendly despite them being so busy. Had the full breakfast and it was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. However, after leaving the restaurant we noticed from the pictures that our plate was missing mushrooms. The restaurant is very busy and packed so they may have forgotten - not very good in term of service. The price was reasonable breakfast for two less than 10 pounds. Tourist from Chicago. Walked into this place a little after 10 pm on a Wednesday night. I was served a cappuccino and made small talk with the handsome, friendly gentlemen working behind the counter . As I pulled out my credit card, I realized that I had not hit the 5 Euro minimum to use a card. So, instead they gave me my coffee for free, rather than making me buy something additional. The price for each pasta was around £8, which is reasonable given the quality despite the slightly smaller portion. Another friend ordered the pork chop however, and it was not quite as good. This place was recommended to me by the staff at the Norfolk Plaza Hotel, as I was checking out, having missed breakfast, and very hung-over after my friend's wedding the night before, and with an hour to kill before the car service would take me to the airport. It's a small restaurant so it can get fairly packed, but still, no one complains because of the great food and great price plus with its proximity to Paddington Train Station, you can't really go wrong.
