French toast

Waited in line for 40 minutes and it was worth it!!! Had a wonderful brunch experience. If you don't need to sit down, then walk right in and grab sandwiches or pastries to go along with your favorite drink. I want to go back and get some amazing looking sandwiches and pastries. I would highly recommend this place. Tight squeeze in the restaurant but it is charming.

Worth the wait! There's a bit of a queue, but worth it. The bacon is especially crispy and a bit salty. The sandwich was crispy without being soggy, and the rosemary wasn't overpowering. The coconut matcha was tasty.

Avo toast and beans

Great brunch experience. The staff were lovely. I got a fresh carrot and ginger juice and the avocado toast. The portions are great for the price. The highlight is the bread - I should have gotten the pancakes or a donut as they looked delightful. It's a bustling environment which is cool - feels like you're part of a cool community just eating breakfast there. And I love that the tap water comes with mint!

Almond pain au chocolat -- INCREDIBLE

Stayed at the hotel directly across the street and popped in here for coffee and a quick pastry to start the day. I was blown away by how gorgeous everything looked--truly some of the most perfect pastries you'll ever see. I ended up getting the almond pain au chocolat two days in a row because it was that delicious. They add the most incredible sweet cream inside that takes it to the next level. While I wanted to try more, our packed tourist schedule didn't allow for it. The space itself is super cute with plenty to take in, and the service was friendly. My only complaint: when it's busy and you're waiting on a to-go order, the layout makes it easy to feel like you're in the way. Otherwise 10/10!!!

Poached eggs with Scottish smoked salmon, on organic English muffins.

Fabulous breakfast food, lots of healthy choices, and wonderful service. Well, worth the wait outdoors to get into the place - highly recommended - first class!

Charming, American friendly, and Tasty, But Be Prepared to Wait. Drury 188-189 is a small, highly-rated brunch spot that lives up to its reputation for delicious food--but be prepared for a wait. We arrived around 12:45 PM and waited about 45 minutes for a table. Their popular sandwich menu is limited to what's available in the glass counter, and items can sell out while you're waiting. I originally planned to order the chicken Gouda sandwich, but it was gone by the time we were seated. Instead, I had the cinnamon French toast, and it was a fantastic backup choice--thick, fluffy, sweet, and served with Greek yogurt, jelly, and blueberries. My partner had the eggs with pastrami and thought it was absolutely delicious. The latte he ordered was rich and flavorful--one of the best cups of coffee he's had in a while. I ordered a Pepsi, which amusingly came in a bottle about the size of my iPhone 14. Despite the tight seating and compact space (not ideal for strollers or wheelchairs), the service was friendly and accommodating. They're happy to make modifications to dishes, and once we ordered, the food arrived quickly. Overall, Drury 188-189 offers a cozy and flavorful brunch experience worth trying--just come early, have a backup order in mind, and maybe leave the stroller at home.

Super solid spot for a fast, casual breakfast or lunch. There was a line, but it moved efficiently. -waffle with eggs and bacon -ham & cheese toastie & side of veggies (the cold case with various salads all looked so good - hard to choose!) -water with mint in a carafe at the table, which I love! Friendly and quick service, which was a little jumbled as I felt like our server was moving fast and missed what I really was asking for. But just a small thing. Would absolutely go again.

Dined in once and ordered takeaway once. Staff was friendly, the food was delicious and beautifully served. I'm still dreaming of the most beautiful bowl of yogurt I've ever eaten!

Fabulous bakery and cafe tucked away in a quaint location. You'll be able to tell that you are in for a great dining experience when you see the fresh pastries, hand-drawn patron art all around, and the line of people waiting for a table. I was lucky to hit the place at a lull in traffic. The amiable host sat me at a window table and a waiter helped me promptly. The restaurant is cheerful and the artwork all over the place gives it a homey feel. I got the Eggs Royale and was delighted by the presentation and flavor. And because this is a bakery, the muffins were amazing. I was completely full but had to try the almond croissant. Better than anything I've had in the US. I hope to get back here one day.

Focaccia bread sandwich . Great. Needs to be toasted better .

A fantastic breakfast/brunch spot with a wide variety of pastries , breakfast sandwiches , and the usual sweet and savory cravings like pancakes and eggs Benedict. I wanted something on the go, so I ordered this cornbread focaccia with spinach, feta pesto and tomatoes It's a pretty sizable sandwich -- even when cut in half. You can easily eat half and save the rest for later. Tastes similar to a deep dish pizza from Genos east back home but of course lighter and healthier . Unfortunately, it was under toasted , so the cheese was only semi -melted. With the perfect temperature , this would have been an easy 5-star. Also less than $10.

Cute little cafe that you wouldn't expect to be so popular! They literally have a queue so long that they have to be on the other side of the road. But the queue moves very quickly so you won't be standing in the cold for too long! They have great selection of pastries and brunch options are great. I especially love that sandwich selections because they have different fillings with different type of bread.

Solid breakfast spot with a small, but sufficient menu. We came here on what was supposed to be the last day of our trip. We got seated immediately as a table for 2. One thing that sticks out to me is how long it took to be able to put in our order. The 2 tables that came in after us orders got taken before us. We had to flag someone down to put in our order. Once we were able to order, Eggs Drury and Avocado Toast, everything was fine. The staff was very friendly, they just took a while to get to us initially even keeping in mind, service is generally different in Europe. The food was solid, no complaints here. I got the Eggs Drury which was tasty. The bacon was a LITTLE too hard, which made it a little difficult to cut through, but overall good. My husband got the avocado toast option they had with a side of smoked salmon, which he enjoyed. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, but if I was in the neighborhood again, maybe.

This cute little cafe is right across the street from my horrible hotel, and looking for something nicer and to get some fresh air I decided to try it out since Yelp reviews were very positive. I was able to take a seat at the window right away, and the menu looked really good. I decided to get the Drury Breakfast and fresh squeezed orange juice. They bring a carafe of water with a large sprig of mint in it although I didn't taste the mint at all- I probably should have crushed the leaves and put it back in but it was a nice touch nonetheless. My meal was delicious - the bacon was really tasty and the poached eggs were perfectly prepared. The English muffins were just the perfect texture of soft but also a little bit of chew and a nice toast to them. The hollandaise was rich and so good! Staff were attentive and very nice. I'll probably be going back to try other things on the menu.

There was a line of people outside waiting. That's how you know it's going to be good! After I got on the line the host (who was a lovely gentleman!) stated it would be about a 15 minute wait, but there was ample seating available outside. I decided to sit outside. After a quick overview of the menu I went with avocado toast with bacon and hashbrowns. I also had a coffee. Everything was delicious and service was great!

People kept walking by without acknowledging us, which was a little frustrating. The coffee was amazing though. We ordered a cortado and it was perfect. I got the All American breakfast and the portion was huge. I enjoyed everything, even though they don't make over-medium eggs, which was a little funny to me. My mom ordered the avo, egg, and cheese sandwich and didn't realize it was spicy, so she didn't enjoy it much. Just something to be aware of if you're not into spice. The vibe inside was really nice and cozy, and our waiter, once we were finally seated, was very sweet and friendly. Overall, I would return, especially for the coffee and the portions.

Their servings are HUGE, and are so affordable too! I left wishing my mother and I had the ability to save our leftovers for later, because we hated wasting any of the delicious food that we ordered. Even before we got our food we were pretty excited. When you walk in you're greeted here with a beautiful sight: fresh sandwiches, bread, and pastries, all on display right at their main counter. Once we were seated I noticed little flower pots line the window, too. Fresh food and flowers - what more can you ask from a cafe for a first impression? We also loved the owner and his wife: they were very kind and they constantly kept us up to date on our food order, just to mention what was done and what they still needed to do or cook. They clearly work hard to provide fresh fast meals - and we learned quickly as people came in and out of the place that takeaway is available here. But we wanted to enjoy a sit down meal, and enjoy we did! I started mine with fresh squeezed juice - we're talking so fresh you'll want to add sugar to it if you're used to the juice that comes in stores. And when our English breakfasts came out? Just, wonderful. My mother and I each received SO much food. Both meals came with amazing buttered bread (like, I would have happily eaten an entire plate of bread and only bread), hash browns so fresh that they may as well have given us the original potatoes (yum), and what I can really only describe as a mountain of beans, eggs, and meat (well, on mine anyway - not so much on my mother's vegetarian breakfast order). All of it absolutely delicious, and every single bite made me smile wider and wider. Definitely walk on in if you're near this little shop. Don't be afraid to order one meal and share it if there's only two of you, either - you'll likely both leave well fed, and you can always order a little more food if you want too from that great looking counter of theirs...

They went out of their way to make forthright suggestions about items and the wines by the glass. The winner was the pea and mint soup. We made reservations at 3pm but it seemed like they had several other tables available for walk-in. The server asked if this was our first time for high tea (not sure if this is protocol or if we were dripping with American vibes). Either way, they were great at walking us through everything to make sure we didn't have any questions. The table settings and overall vibe made me feel like we were super fancy! I ordered the Egyptian Chamomile tea and my husband ordered the Earl Gray. The menu had descriptions of the types of teas which can help you pick out what you'd like. I think we both liked my Chamomile better with a tad of sugar which was on the table. We happened to visit during the Chelsea Flower Show time, so they had 2 different types of specialty desserts- we ordered one of each. The sandwiches were all delicious- I loved the salmon and my husband wanted to ask for the Coronation Chicken Salad recipe. The scones were out of this world, and I have a new favorite food called clotted cream. The desserts were so, so good and had a little bit of everything- chocolate, tarts, fruity...you'll find something you like! To be quite frank, we did our due diligence with finding a place to have high tea. There were some that were almost twice as expensive as this place, and I have a hard time believing they would have been twice as good. If you're looking for a simple afternoon tea experience, make sure to add this to your short list. Brasserie Max is elegant, simple, and delicious- highly recommended!
