The service was amazing friendly with smiles on their faces welcoming us in. We just got off a flight from the US that morning. Me and my wife ordered an egg Benedict that was very good. The place was a little small and tight but comfortable.

Stopped in here on our way to the museum for a quick breakfast. Service and food were good. Cute little spot with quick turn around. We both got avocado toast dishes. Very filling and good flavor.

Crushed avocado, smoked salmon, and poached egg on sourdough 6.43/10- this was pretty good and very filling. I wish the avocado was cold and the sourdough bread was warm. The poached egg was more like a hard boiled egg and I wish it was more runny. The smoked salmon was incredibly fresh and delicious.

I received great service here when I arrived on a Monday morning and had a traditional English breakfast. Highly recommended!

Lovely place to grab breakfast. It appears they serve it all day, as my friend and I were able to order from the breakfast menu at 11:30am. The prices were very reasonable and the food tasted great.

Wow. It is extremely rare that when I am on vacation that I eat in the same place two days in a row. After all, you are on vacation and you want to try new things! Well, Salt & Pepper broke that rule for me after an amazing breakfast there the first day of my recent London trip. This tiny cafe was right next to my hotel and offers traditional breakfast favorites in addition to pastas, salads, etc. I had the ham and cheese omelette which might possibly be the best omelette I have had... anywhere. My dining partner had the avocado toast with Halumi cheese which she said was amazing and perfect as well. Service is good and quick. I can't wait to come back on my next London trip!

My poached eggs were served on a massive bed of bacon and fresh made English muffins. The English bacon was incredibly delicious. It is no wonder that there are lines waiting to dine here. My husband had one of their premade breakfast sandwiches, made on fresh rolls, which he loved. There was a service charge added to the bill. I would definitely recommend and return.

I ordered the chorizo sandwich; the bread had a good crunch and the sun dried tomato added a bonus pop of flavor. The real winner and bar-setter for me was their iced vanilla latte. I'm not sure if it was the espresso or the vanilla syrup they used but it was probably the best latte I had. Inside the restaurant has lots of character and you can get more info on the decorations. Employees were kind and handled the business of the day with ease. If anyone happens to see this from the cafe, I'd really love to know what vanilla syrup is used as I'm still thinking about that latte weeks later!

People kept walking by without acknowledging us, which was a little frustrating. The coffee was amazing though. We ordered a cortado and it was perfect. I got the All American breakfast and the portion was huge. I enjoyed everything, even though they don't make over-medium eggs, which was a little funny to me. My mom ordered the avo, egg, and cheese sandwich and didn't realize it was spicy, so she didn't enjoy it much. Just something to be aware of if you're not into spice. The vibe inside was really nice and cozy, and our waiter, once we were finally seated, was very sweet and friendly. Overall, I would return, especially for the coffee and the portions.

Their servings are HUGE, and are so affordable too! I left wishing my mother and I had the ability to save our leftovers for later, because we hated wasting any of the delicious food that we ordered. Even before we got our food we were pretty excited. When you walk in you're greeted here with a beautiful sight: fresh sandwiches, bread, and pastries, all on display right at their main counter. Once we were seated I noticed little flower pots line the window, too. Fresh food and flowers - what more can you ask from a cafe for a first impression? We also loved the owner and his wife: they were very kind and they constantly kept us up to date on our food order, just to mention what was done and what they still needed to do or cook. They clearly work hard to provide fresh fast meals - and we learned quickly as people came in and out of the place that takeaway is available here. But we wanted to enjoy a sit down meal, and enjoy we did! I started mine with fresh squeezed juice - we're talking so fresh you'll want to add sugar to it if you're used to the juice that comes in stores. And when our English breakfasts came out? Just, wonderful. My mother and I each received SO much food. Both meals came with amazing buttered bread (like, I would have happily eaten an entire plate of bread and only bread), hash browns so fresh that they may as well have given us the original potatoes (yum), and what I can really only describe as a mountain of beans, eggs, and meat (well, on mine anyway - not so much on my mother's vegetarian breakfast order). All of it absolutely delicious, and every single bite made me smile wider and wider. Definitely walk on in if you're near this little shop. Don't be afraid to order one meal and share it if there's only two of you, either - you'll likely both leave well fed, and you can always order a little more food if you want too from that great looking counter of theirs...

We made reservations at 3pm but it seemed like they had several other tables available for walk-in. The server asked if this was our first time for high tea (not sure if this is protocol or if we were dripping with American vibes). Either way, they were great at walking us through everything to make sure we didn't have any questions. The table settings and overall vibe made me feel like we were super fancy! I ordered the Egyptian Chamomile tea and my husband ordered the Earl Gray. The menu had descriptions of the types of teas which can help you pick out what you'd like. I think we both liked my Chamomile better with a tad of sugar which was on the table. We happened to visit during the Chelsea Flower Show time, so they had 2 different types of specialty desserts- we ordered one of each. The sandwiches were all delicious- I loved the salmon and my husband wanted to ask for the Coronation Chicken Salad recipe. The scones were out of this world, and I have a new favorite food called clotted cream. The desserts were so, so good and had a little bit of everything- chocolate, tarts, fruity...you'll find something you like! To be quite frank, we did our due diligence with finding a place to have high tea. There were some that were almost twice as expensive as this place, and I have a hard time believing they would have been twice as good. If you're looking for a simple afternoon tea experience, make sure to add this to your short list. Brasserie Max is elegant, simple, and delicious- highly recommended!
