We returned to Dr. Hale after my mother underwent a second back surgery that left her in severe…read morepain and struggling to walk. Because he had done her original fusion and had such a strong reputation, we trusted him to give us an honest assessment. I brought her most recent CT and MRI scans, along with lab results showing a GFR of 17--the morning of that second surgery--indicating she was not an appropriate surgical candidate at the time. I also presented the report showing that a Coflex device had been used directly above a prior fusion, something that multiple sources list as contraindicated. Dr. Hale spent only a few minutes with her, glanced at the scans, and said everything looked fine. He offered no comment on the labs or the contraindicated device and simply recommended outpatient therapy. After her condition rapidly declined, we sought a second opinion from a top spinal surgeon at HSS, who reviewed the same imaging and said she was in urgent need of surgical intervention at that time. Unfortunately, by then it was too late. My mother is now wheelchair-bound, on dialysis three times a week, and unlikely to survive more than six months. She will live out what time she has left in pain--and in torment--knowing that those she once trusted to protect her instead looked the other way. From where I sit, it seems doctors protect their own, even when a patient's life is on the line.

From the moment he stepped into the room I felt at ease as he was both knowledgeable and willing to listen to each and every detail Where every other ENT failed he put me through a hearing test, balance test & Vestibular therapy to find-out why I was having vertigo attacks.He sat there for 15 minutes and explain to me in detail with the diagram on what was going on in my inner ear canal and brain. He prescribed me some medication and we made a follow up appointment for next month. Just two hours ago while I was sitting on my car he called me to confirm that I did have some hearing loss in one ear and that I should not be concerned about that and we would talk about that at our next appointment. What type of doctor called you after hours to explain a detail when I could've waited another four weeks? If you have vertigo, Ménière's disease or any other problem from your neck up this guy is the guy to go to. Patient Abandonment by Neurosurgeon at Critical Moment…read more Dr. Goldberg evaluated my 82-year-old mother at Englewood Hospital for progressive spinal stenosis with severe neurological symptoms. Dr. Goldberg stated he would not perform surgery at Englewood Hospital due to concerns about post-surgical complications and the hospital's inability to handle them. Dr. Goldberg stated he would sign transfer paperwork anywhere, at any time, by anyone who asks to help facilitate transfer to a specialty care hospital. Then Dr. Goldberg disappeared. No explanation. No communication. No reassignment to another neurosurgeon. I contacted Dr. Goldberg's office requesting he follow through on his commitment. No response. My mother is now mostly wheelchair-bound with urinary retention and inability to move her bowels. She continues to deteriorate by the day. She is currently hospitalized with an unknown outcome. This could have potentially been reversed if Dr. Goldberg had not abandoned her at her most vulnerable time of need. This is patient abandonment. Dr. Goldberg, at my mother's most vulnerable time of need: will you help, or will you abandon her again? If you cannot trust a doctor to follow through on facilitating the care they themselves recommended, how can you possibly trust them to handle post-operative complications? Not only is he abundantly compassionate, kind, and patient, but he takes the time to truly understand what is taking place symptomatically. He explains everything in a way that is very easy to understand and makes you feel comfortable. Despite the office having many patients waiting, all was managed well and appointments were moved along. My appointment was right on time and the office staff were incredibly polite and courteous. I had multiple tests and procedures to complete, all of which were done efficiently. All-in-all, I could not be happier with my experience here. The only thing was in there was the doctor's order without the results. I called them back, I was told the nurse would upload the results. I tried to login but it was failed. I called the office when they sent me the link I registered I found nothing but the same order. When I told the office ,when a patient got the blood work usually the doctor called the patient for the results not the patient chasing after the results. I was told the doctor would call me back. I AM GOING TO FIND ANOTHER NEUROLOGIST NOT AFFILIATED WITH THIS GROUP
