Review is for Bethany the massage therapist. An independent contractor at this salon. After learning more about professional massage therapy and proper techniques, I would never return to Bethany. In my experience, there were no intake forms or health history questions asked before treatment, which I later learned is a basic safety practice for most professionals. The massages were also far more painful than what I now understand to be appropriate, and I often experienced soreness for days afterward. Massages should never cause that much pain, for days. There was also a time she worked while visibly ill, and I later became sick and passed the illness to my family over the holidays. That experience raised additional concerns for me. Another issue was the amount of personal commentary shared during sessions, particularly repeated stories about male clients behaving inappropriately. Over time this became uncomfortable. For over a year I recommended her because I didn't yet understand what proper massage therapy standards should look like. After becoming more informed, my perspective changed. I would encourage others to research therapists carefully and look for practitioners who follow professional intake and safety practices. Update: the owner inboxed me basically telling me to remove my review. That Bethany rents a room from her. This doesn't matter she is a representation of your salon/spa. I will not be sweet talked into removing a review that is truthful and honest regarding their massage, therapist Bethany I believe that's against Yelp policy. read more

I've been a client at mind and body care for almost a year now, groupon got in me in the door but the service and care Lori and Beth provide is what made me stay! Mind and body care offers a range of services however I can only speak on the facials and peels by Lori since that is all I've tried. I'm in every 4-8 weeks and I'm getting phenomenal results from these facials. They offer package deals as well which is convenient! Lori is super knowledgeable and she's great at what she does. I have to give this place 5 stars (I would give more if I could) and I did not even get a service for myself. I accompanied my mom to get permanent eyeliner and I can't rave enough. From the owner, who does most of the work herself, to the services to the pricing to the results - all of it is excellent. The owner is a down to earth, compassionate, educator in her field of work. My mom's eyeliner turned out fantastic & I plan on getting it done myself. We scheduled the three for me facial package in 2 weeks (will post an updated review then) and I cannot wait. I had an appointment at 6:30pm, I got there 15 mins early. Walked in nobody was in the front, so I just sat in the waiting area since i was there early. There was this room with the door open and this lady was talking real loud with her client, and there were signs around saying " Soft voices please, Spa services in session" but sounded like she didn't really care. So i waited until 6:32 still nobody came out, so I walked to the room with the loud lady and asked her if i have to check in with someone in the front she said " well it's 6:32 and we're all working in here, someone will be with you okay? " not the tone or the response i was expecting. So i waited, the lady kept on talking LOUD,saying stuff like how she hates Polish people. It was clear that she did not care who was listening, what if there was a Polish client waiting and heard her? I was more worried than her. I'm only giving 3 stars because Lori was super nice and she was very good with the facial i got. But I will not be coming back. read more

I have been going to Beth for close to 10 years. Initially I went to her for my massages. She is wonderful at them! She specializes in more of deep tissue, athletic massages, etc. Last year (2012) I used Beth for my permanent makeup. She tattooed my eyebrows. Best $$ I have ever spent!! She did them exactly as I asked and did free touch ups until I was 100% satisfied with color, etc. I have recently started (3 weeks ago) getting Microdermabrasion treatments with Beth. I am getting married in a couple weeks and wanted to make my skin as nice as I could. The procedure is not the most fun but the results she has gotten me in just 3 treatments is amazing! I have been coming to Beth and Bobbi for almost ten years and I never leave unhappy. I was originally referred to Beth for a massage and might I say I have never found anyone who gives a better massage. Beth made me feel very comfortable and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I was surprised and thrilled to learn that Beth was also a licensed aesthetician and offered so many other services. I have received microdermabrasion treatments with great results, and she has always been able to work me in to her schedule whenever I've had a skin "emergency" (for which she has quite a few tricks.) The back treatments I needed worked wonders and had my back perfectly clear for a wedding I was in last summer - something I never thought could be accomplished. And she is AMAZING with eyebrows (waxing)! I trust Beth so much with my "beauty care" that I decided to go ahead and have her do permanent make-up. I was hesitant because permanent make-up seems so... permanent! But I have to say I am SO happy that I did it. I started with eyebrows. Mine are so light, thin and sparse I was having to fill them in with a pencil every day. She filled them in permanently and I LOVE them! I smile to myself when someone compliments my brows, then I have to tell them my secret. I hate applying eyeliner, but I'm fair skinned and my eyelashes are very light and I can't live without it. So I had her do permanent eyeliner. It's by far the best thing I have ever done! I never have to apply eyeliner! I have saved so much money not having to buy eyeliner and eyebrow pencils. I'm sure its more than paid for the procedures by now, but just not having to put all that make-up on every day made it worth every penny! During my many visits with Beth we've talked about life and how complicated it can be. She recommended I come in and see work with Bobbi on dealing with some issues (that everyone has at some point in their life.) I have to say that after spending time with Bobbi and learning about myself I have come to look at life with a whole new perspective. I've gained a sense of peace and now have a confidence I never knew I could have. I thought that "Mind and Body Care" was just a catchy name, but I realized that it is TRULY that - care for the body and the mind...and the soul!
