We hired Masionicare at Home to look after my mother during her hospice care time at home. After…read morenine weeks, I can only say their service has declined markedly since we hired them in 2016 to look after our father in similar circumstances. Our biggest gripes are the awful scheduling services, and the very gruff, uncaring women who answer their phones. 90% of my phone calls to the central number leave me feeling the person answering the phone resents being bothered with my questions. Although the individual aides and nurses, have been good, our problem is the complete lack of any consistency in scheduling. Numerous times during these 2+ months, aide visits have been changed on the day of arrival minute. We never receive any advance information about nursing visits except for the planned days of visits. No expected windows of time for their visits are ever offered. We have complained about this for six weeks in a row, and the receptionists who answered the phones simply could not care less. The case manager nurse who took over for my mom several weeks ago has never been back. And with all the nurses, it is extremely burdensome when they never tell us an expected time of arrival, so we have to wait throughout the day wondering whether they will come at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm. It makes it impossible to leave home on these days to run errands, take a care-taking break, or anything. It is an unneeded stress placed on family that could be solved with simple professionalism of informing us of a time window for arrival. I agree with a few other reviewers here that while the care itself is not bad, the awful lack of communication is a problem that Masonicare neither cares about nor seems interested in solving. They seem clueless on what family caretakers are going through.

She started recently attending this program almost 2 months ago after leaving rehab. She attends 5 days a week and will always share stories with me every day of what she's done and what she enjoyed. It brings me great comfort to know that she is in a safe, caring, supportive, & engaging environment when I'm at work. I am always communicating with the staff about her schedule, because of appointments or if something is going on with my mom. All the staff are really pleasant and helpful in so many ways. She is starting to make friends which is great for the social butterfly that she is. I did look at other social model day programs and there is nothing else that came close to a quality that the town of Huntington adult daycare program provides. The hours of operation are also amazing. As many places do not start until at least 9 AM. However, with my work schedule that is not doable so I'm very appreciative that they start at 8 AM and they end by 4pm. I am really happy that she is in such a great environment and gets to do things that she may not be able to do otherwise. I'm looking forward to her celebrating her 90th birthday with her new friends.

I wasn't given any other information about this client except she was an easy, capable person just needed assistance with light duties on a daily basis. Meeting the client on day 1 gave me an idea of what type of person she was...had I known I wouldv'e never went back. This woman did nothing but bark orders at me, snapped all the time yelling/ screaming at me for not doing duties up to her standards. She was a complete control freak. Each day she picked me apart, berated/ belittled me about the most minor tasks she had listed for me expected each day. I couldn't focus or concentrate on simple tasks because of how bad her temper was snapping on me at any given time. By far she was the nastiest, angriest person Ive ever met! I lasted within 3 weeks. I reached my breaking point and decided by the end of my last shift with her I was done. I endured more than enough verbal abuse that I could stand. I should have walked away sooner. I suffered and my mental health, which took a beating. My stress levels and anxiety were through the roof. Things got so bad for me I called my health care provider requesting my anxiety medication be increased from dealing with this woman. Also I'm a person who suffers from chronic migraines she made them come on more frequently. Each day I was having panic attacks to the point where I felt in need of air like I couldn't breathe. I DO NOT recommend this company period. My family knew about how badly I was being treated and urged me to get away from her. The job is not worth it out of desperation in need of money. I learned the hard way finding out exactly why I was hired immediately. Guaranteed this woman has a reputation within the agency and I'm one of the many caregivers who have left this client. AMP should have been honest and up front about the case. All the grief and damage that was done could have been avoided.
