Our mother succumbed to her illness on 2/13/25, it is with Tiffany's determination and endless hard work we were able to bring mom home with hospice where she was able to spend her final days with her loving family reminiscing, laughing, and us loving her with every part of our beings. After moms passing Tiffany continuously reached out to us to make sure we were not only mentally doing alright but continued to offer guidance with our next steps through this while process. Yesterday we had our apartment cleaned by a very friendly woman. She did an adequate job, and though she also cleaned in areas we explicitly asked her not to, it wasn't overly intrusive, so it wasn't worth complaining about. However, this morning we found that the woman who cleaned our apartment broke the tip off a Japanese vegetable knife. The sentimental value of the knife is not relevant here, though it's certainly worth mentioning that this knife has been in daily use for over 15 years and survived, beginning during my fiancee's time as a chef, when she purchased this expensive piece of cutlery. What likely happened, as the knife was intact as it sat on the drying rack, is that the cleaning woman dropped the knife, breaking off an inch-long section from the tip back, rendering the knife almost completely unusable. Still, things get broken, and had the cleaning woman told us that's what had happened, we would have been disappointed, but also okay with it. Instead, she stuck it in the drawer, didn't say a word, and left. This morning, upon discovering the knife had been broken, my fiancee called the Polish Home Service Agency, where she was greeted by an impossibly rude person who refused to offer any remuneration for the damage their employee caused. Even an apology was difficult to wring out, and when it came it was half-hearted and lame. Though faced with the understanding that we planned to not only get on Yelp and speak of our experience, but also refuse to hire them anymore and tell all our friends in the neighborhood what a crummy company they are, they refused to offer even a partial refund. So, as promised, we're making sure to tell friends and business contacts in the area to steer clear of this company. We're on Yelp speaking of our experience. They've lost at least one customer, which should have been enough to act like they gave a shit about our completely legitimate complaint (the very first complaint we've ever made in years of using this company.) What you're getting if you hire this company is the possibility of a competent home cleaning. What you're also getting is, if something goes wrong, to basically be told to go fuck yourself. You can do better than that.
