Listen to the negative reviews about this place. I wish I had. I gave them the benefit of doubt after hearing good things about one of their physicians assistants. It was a mistake. They sent my Daughter away in tears after she was 7 minutes late for her appointment yesterday. She even called to tell them she was on her way and running a little behind. She was 2 minutes past their 5 minute late rule and they refused to see her. Mind you she had a 40 minute time slot to see the PA , so they could have told her the time with the PA would be cut a little shorter or had some kind of flexibility. They would not budge and told her she needed to reschedule. Since my other Daughter's appointment was scheduled for right after, I went ahead with the second appointment bringing up my concern of how staff treated my older Daughter to the PA , Mandy Coulsey hoping for a little understanding when she began to school me on "real world consequences" and telling me "hopefully my Daughter learned her lesson for being late. " She acted callously towards us, just as front staff had. Maybe because there's a high demand and little options in the area that they get away with treating their patients this way. 0/10 do not recommend. SIDE NOTE: I noticed the only response from an office staff member on reviews , was from a positive review made. That says a lot about a practice. They aren't addressing a majority of unhappy reviews and disregarding peoples honest experiences on here just as they do at their office. read more

I was laid off recently and found myself without healthcare but WITH a Staph infection (yikes!) The women I spoke to at the front desk both prior to and during my visit were lovely. I saw a doctor who seemed genuinely concerned about my health and got a prescription for the necessary antibiotic. They even gave me discount cards to help at the pharmacy! I received a follow-up call, too. While I hopeto not needthe doctor again soon, they're definitely my ew go-to! read more

This office is HANDS DOWN the WORST medical office I have ever been to. If I could give them less 1 star, I would. It takes over 2 days to get a call back for anything, PA-C Emory is always "in a meeting" or "out of town for the week" when you attempt to speak with her, and absolutely 0 real medical care is provided by this establishment. All the office clerks are extremely rude, and will argue with you when you do not agree with what you are asking them to do. If you go here, just expect to be told to ice and ibuprofen. I could provide myself with more relief than this office can. Despicable. WebMD will give you better relief than this god awful establishment. Move on, and find yourself a different place to go. read more

I visited Dr. Tim O'Neil two years ago for a couple different chronic pains. Both visits ended with a prescription for muscle relaxer which I already indicated worked while I took them but my pains immediately returned when I ran out of meds. Dr. O'Neil seemed like a nice guy but no real effort was taken to determine causality. I did request lab-work as part of my physical to see what cholesterol levels etc... were at. It took SEVERAL phone calls by me to get my results as I was continually told "someone will get back to you", but no one ever did. I finally got lab results nearly two months after blood was drawn. Despite this experience, I made an appointment today- hoping things may have changed. I arrived at my scheduled appointment time of 11:45 AM to find a completely empty parking lot and an office that had all of it's lights dimmed. I wondered if they forgot to pay their electric bill. When I reached the counter the receptionist took my name and informed me she "had me at 2". I told her that was incorrect, I was told that very morning to come in at 11:45. "Nope, I have you at 2 and we've got another appointment at noon so...." No apology just a sideways grin that I can only describe as obnoxious under the circumstances. Stating "I guess I have no choice... I'll be back at two" I turned to leave as she slid the partition closed. Ultimately I cancelled my two o'clock appointment. I will never return and urge anyone looking for a physician to search elsewhere. read more

Not pleased. I'm new here, moving from CA, and not accustomed to anything other than the convenience of Kaiser where everything happens under one roof. Anyway, I made an appointment to establish care and was surprised that there are apparently not enough doctors here so I saw a PA. But the charge was the same as if I'd seen a doctor. Anyway, we went through my medical history, part of which is pain relief for Percocet since I can't take NSAIDs and have severe osteoarthritis. I don't understand why this PA can't write this prescription! She can do everything a doctor can do but can't write the prescription for the medication I need most? She said she'd refer me to the only pain doctor in the area with an "urgent" in the referral. Anyway, the thing that pissed me off most about this office was I had the lab draw done, and then they wanted me to come in for an office visit (charged as such, of course) to get the results of my TSH. I told them no, I wasn't going to pay for an office visit for lab results. Tell the PA to call me or post it in the Renown patient portal. About 10 minutes later the PA called me with the lab results and instructions for changing the TSH medication. I asked her if she'd submitted the pain doctor referral and she said yes, but it still took over a month for that pain clinic to contact me and then the appointment was scheduled for 4 months later. And then they postponed that appointment by another 3 weeks. I would've blown my brains out if I'd been forced to be in that kind of pain for over 4 months! I guess in Nevada though it just sucks to be me because nobody cared. I gave up and re-established California residency and went back to Kaiser. read more

She takes the time to connect on a personal level, she isn't a "just subscribe something" doctor. We are not only new to town but to state as well and our new health insurance has not yet kicked in. My son was complaining about his ear hurting so I wanted to get him checked out. I asked the local Facebook blog which clinic they recommended and Minden Family Medicine was suggested multiple times. I called as soon as they opened and was able to get a same day appointment. The staff was all very friendly from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out. Our doctor, Cat, was the nicest Doctor I have ever encountered! She listened to not only everything I had to say but what my son had to say as well and she was BEYOND thorough with the type of care he received. It was such a great experience! read more

Front office staff is horrible and their physicians treats you like a paycheck. Have been trying to get referrals to specialists for my fibromyalgia and herniated discs. They keep telling me I have to contact the specialists and the specialists won't deal with me. The specialists tell me my doctors office needs to contact. They don't do it. I have been with them for over a year now and have gotten nowhere with my medical issues. read more

My daughter was misdiagnosed by Mr Oniel. HE IS NOT A DOCTOR! He prescribed her an antibiotic that caused a major reaction. We had to take her to the ER due to his negligence. The ER DOCTORS stated " all it would have taken was a minor test too find her real ailment". The antibiotic reacted with her real illness, and caused a rash over her whole body and her lips, nose and eyes where swollen. My daughter woke up this morning and could baring breath. We called the office after taking her to the ER. The office staff said "we will call you back". That was six hours ago and now the office is closed. The office staff doesnt care, they don't ever take the effort to look at you. I personally was seen by Debra and Oniel after my doctor retired. After being treated at this " clinic" I went out and found a new DOCTOR that prescribed me an antibiotic that resolved my issue. All this so called clinic wants is your insurance money. My Blue Cross was charged $203 each visit and the so called nurse practitioners did nothing. Over all my family has paid this office over $800. They did nothing for me, plus misdiagnosIing my nine year old daughter. Please take the time to find a REAL doctor that can diagnose your issue. Friendly, efficient and good health care! I have been seeing Dr. Kriss for several years, and she and her assistant, Hillary, have bent over backwards for me. They are typically on time, and get me in and out quickly for my quarterly visits. Yes, their schedule is tight and if I am more than 15 minutes delayed, they make me set another appointment. But who is to blame there? Me! I appreciate that they do not over prescribe or push treatments that are not needed. They understand the reality of my health, family and schedule and have worked around every hurdle. Plus, they have saved me $$ by using my insurance's formulary and prescribing brands that cost less - - unless a name brand is more effective. LOTS of respect for these folks. read more

This is the WORST care I've EVER had from a doctor's office. Typically when it's been a year since you've seen your doctor, they let you know or give you a little bit of a "grace period" on your medications until you make another appointment. NOPE! Not this office! They deny you your maintenance medication, you know, the kind that's dangerous if you just stop taking it suddenly. Then, you go through a week without the medication, still can't see your doctor so they send you to another physician in the office and you feel like you finally are taken care of and that someone cares. Well, that's not so either. The second physician tells you to make a follow up appointment in 3 months. And when your pharmacy asks for a refill after a month, guess what?! Denial again! Call to follow up and ask why? Oh because you never had an "establishing care appointment" with the new physician. So you've seen that doctor twice now, they've refilled all of your meds, run bloodwork, discussed a health plan and that's not an "establishing care appointment?!" Sounds to me like you just want another copay out of me! Because a month ago, you said I didn't need to come back for three months! Well, no more. The doctor's here are good. Their office staff and policies....HORRIBLE!!!! read more

Been trying to get a back issue diagnosed for over 4 months. Doctors don't care about your pain and do very little to resolved your problems. I am a new patient at Minden Family Medicine, and I have to say, after reading the reviews on here, I was a bit nervous to go. Most of the reviews are negative, which would make anyone anxious. Unhappy with my old physician, I knew I needed to find somewhere new. I like to be treated like a person, not a number. So, despite all of the negative reviews, I kept my appointment and went. The office was a little bit hard to find, but I did find it. The ladies at the front desk were very nice as well as professional. Chris was very helpful and very friendly, too. She was one of the ladies at the front. I was called in fairly quickly. The nurse assistant was very polite and professional. She had a few questions about my medicines, so she made sure to clarify what she needed. The next person I saw was Catherine Fuller. She was completely brand new to me, as was Minden Family Medicine. She was very thorough, very professional, and kind. My visit with her took about an hour and she seemed genuinely concerned about my health. She asked questions and I asked some in return. I just have to say, my own visit went very well and I really like this place. If you read the other reviews on here and think about not going, please rethink your choice. I know that not every place and every doctor will be a perfect fit for every person. That is why I think there are a lot of negative reviews. Sometimes, people clash. However, Minden Family Medicine is now my new place for medical treatment. I am confident and pleased with my decision and I think others would be, too, if they gave it a chance. read more
