Dr Levinson was my inpatient psychiatrist (well, one of them) at Mills. Unlike most other…read moreinvoluntary patients, I very much wanted to be in a hospital because I desperately needed the help - help that I unfortunately didn't get until another hospitalization elsewhere. Dr Levinson made such reckless decisions in my care that he almost got me killed. Dr Levinson had decided on a diagnosis for me before he ever met me. Our first conversation was brief and just him collecting information on my treatment history. He insisted I that I *needed* specific meds that I had tried and done poorly on in the past. Then he didn't see me for a week, came back and told me I'd be discharged the next day - a decision he had reached, again, without speaking to me. Me as well as three consecutive shifts of nurses voiced concerns over the discharge order. (While I was packing to leave, my nurse was literally pleading with his supervisor to not let me walk out the door.) I was sent home without a discharge plan. Right before a long holiday weekend. While acutely suicidal. I credit interventions by my nurses and two other patients on my last night there with keeping me alive that day. I eventually got the help I needed at another hospital, where the treatment team arrived at a different diagnosis and spent a month helping me stabilize before discharging me to a lower level of care.

Dr. Urban saw me at Mills-Peninsula over the last 8 days when I checked in voluntarily under more…read morestress than I have ever been under (which is saying a lot after my 2nd quarter 2017). Working with her to understand the diagnosis I had been given when I was admitted involuntarily 40 days prior, was tremendous. She started me on the meds that were previously prescribed and then quickly got me to therapeutic levels. It now appears that my original diagnosis was incorrect. While the meds (Lithium) do actually enhance the quality of my disposition the problems still exist even on this medication. Seeing that, we took a 360 degree approach and thanks to her "care" I'm optimistic that I can get my acute problems under control in a few months collaboratively with my regular psychiatrist (who Dr. Urban took the time to reach out to as anyone would expect an inpatient doctor to do). Even better I'm certain that I can, in time, reach a total quality of life greater than I've ever known before. I sincerely wish there were a pill to fix a relationship and heal a family. For now I'm focused on the one person I'm supposed to be in control of. Me! The only person who should be. I actually know a few patients who don't feel Dr. Urban is treating them well. It must be very difficult to work in a profession where the disease you're treating causes your patients to be unable to see the value in the treatment itself. Thus I am glad to be able to be the first to review. Thank you!

I wish I could leave zero stars. I don't understand how this woman has achieved the status that she…read morehas in the psychiatry world. She is super weird and has a super weird approach. I went to her for problems with depression, anxiety, and trying to figure out what else was wrong because there was clearly something else there causing so much misery, but she just kept trying to give me TMS treatments, which wasn't helpful at all or trying to say that it was just my thyroid and I should take thyroid medication. I was weirded out by that. What's funny is I just got some tests done with my regular doctor and my thyroid results came back normal. But the ABSOLUTE WORST worst part of my experience with her and why I stopped contact altogether is because of her response when I told her that my therapist had diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder. ms urban rolled her eyes, and looked at me like I was being ridiculous and acknowledged the fact that I had been with my boyfriend for four years. She said I couldn't have had borderline personality disorder because people with that diagnosis cannot have relationships, so my boyfriend must be an angel then. That was one of the most vile and disgusting things I've ever heard a psychiatrist or any doctor say to me. She should be stripped of all her licenses and kicked off of the psychiatry board. She does not need to be working with anyone with any mental health disorders if she's so cold, rude and perpetuates the stigma of BPD.

This can be weird to say, but in my experience with psychiatrists, I find that interactions can be dry and almost robotic on their part. Since my first contact, she was friendly and personable. She wasn't pushy about medication or anything, which I appreciated. Lastly, I trusted her clinical judgment. Not only did she give helpful advice and information, she was able to coordinate with other health care providers as a care team. The only reason why I rated her a 4 was because she has fairly limited flexibility in scheduling.

I am giving him 3 stars instead of 5 because of the way he terminated me. He had encouraged me to go to a residential program after an unhelpful hospital admission. He even assured me, "Of course you can always fire me, but I am signed up to be your psychiatrist now." When I reached back out to him after the program, he fired me as his patient because my needs might be exceeding the scope of his practice. Of course that's his prerogative, but I was left hanging without access to my medications and without an outpatient psychiatrist, out of the blue. If my PCP won't refill my meds, I might have to go back to the hospital just to have access to my medications while I wait for an appointment with a new outpatient provider.

The ABSOLUTE WORST healthcare experience I have ever had. Front office said it was impossible, Dr. Hazel and Dr. Bokarius do not work the same days. Fine, I'll make the 6 hour drive two separate days. At the first appointment, Dr. Hazel is 2.5 hours late seeing me from the scheduled appointment time. I understand that things can run behind but no acknowledgement, no apology. Front staff was super rude. I needed a document to excuse my jury duty but required me to ask the front desk over 3 times in-person, and call twice after to finally get the document. To my surprise, during my appointment with Dr. Hazel, guess who else is in the office but Dr. Bokarius. After I was told unequivocally that Dr. Hazel and Dr. Bokarius do not work the same days and the two in-person appointments could not be scheduled on the same day, that was a bold face lie. They do not care about their patients at all, do not respect their time, front desk/receptionists are either incompetent or evil, probably both.
