I have been enjoying the yoga classes here for the past month. Many of the classes are during business hours, but some are after 5pm or before 8am. It follows that tends to be (mostly) a community of active retirees, but there is also a mix of younger people who attend classes. Everyone is super friendly and tries to learn your name and people have conversations between or after class, so I think it would be a good place to make new friends in the community. I saw also they are running a special something like $100 for the month of July and August 2023- unlimited classes for NEW clients only. You might want to check with them to make sure I got that right, though!

After these two classes, I have to say I really like this place. Simple, new, clean and inviting. The studio space has the right balance between encouraging physical exertion and active relaxation. The yoga studio is separated from the active space by the lobby. Terribly efficient. Two yoga rooms, heated floors, and large windows that look into a serene wooded area. The fitness machines and cycle room are on the other side. Vinyasa yoga with Robbin was fantastic. It had been a long time since my last class but I had no problem following along or modifying as needed. Marie's circuit is a great 60 min toning class with compound movements and 90 second cardio bursts to keep your heart rate up. I have signed up for a 10-class package. Classes can be used for any of the classes offered. Full schedule and descriptions can be found on their website. Nice new locker room, full shower, towels and water available throughout the facility. This is the type of place that makes you look forward to your next visit. I have done many kinds of yoga and truly enjoyed this Bhakti flow yoga class. They have many children's activities and classes, as well as different levels of yoga to accommodate all, from the 1st time beginner to the long time yoga enthusiasts. I was pleasantly surprised to see 1/3 of the participates in my class were male which reinforced how knowledgeable and welcoming they are at the Bhakti Yoga Healing Arts Studio. I called for hours and class descriptions. The woman who answered the phone was easy to talk with and very helpful. I recommend everyone who is interested in Yoga try Bhakti Yoga.

WARNING: Hands on instruction in yoga should never force you or push you past where your body is…read more It is only meant to correct posture and alignment. After experiencing a serious injury in one of these classes from aggressive hands on, I requested a refund of the unused classes I would no longer be able to use from this debilitating injury at the hands of these instructors. After being told I would be given that refund, I never received it. Any amount refunded would have helped cover my $10k+ in medical expenses I've incurred due to this unfortunate situation. I have heard about yoga injuries but had always been in safe spaces with knowledgeable instructors during the last 20 years of my practice. I share this experience to warn others about receiving hands on instruction from this studio. It could end up costing you more than money and leave you with a lifelong injury.

Amazing place for experienced Buddhists and first timers alike…read more Highly recommend coming for a Sunday service (they start at 10AM) for your first visit. Service starts with a 25 minute meditation and both mats with cushions and chairs are available for those not comfortable kneeling or sitting cross legged. During a normal Sunday service meditation is followed by chanting in English and Sino-Korean, which is the cultural background of this Sangha. Translations are provided for all chants not in English which is a nice touch. Following the chanting there is normally a Dharma talk led by the temple's head priestess. There is a nice variety to this part of the service and often there will be any number of other people who lead the discussion. From Dr. Liu, an ordained Chinese Diagnostic Monk who moved to the US and obtained his MD, to Rafe Martin, a well known story teller and author. I really appreciate the wide variety of people and topics covered in the Dharma Discussions which help make the Sunday service never feel stale. The audience is encouraged to join the discussion throughout the talk as opposed to just listening. After service, tea is served and the Sangha has a few minutes to chat before many go off into one of any number of interest groups. Covering a range of topics such as Environmental awareness, Life Transitions, to Refuge Recovery (a Buddhist inspired approach to Substance abuse recovery), there are many options for those interested in quite a few subjects. There is almost always the opportunity for work practice after service. If you enjoy gardening, helping make raisins, wood working, stuffing cushions, the list goes on.... It's a great way to meet other Sangha members and help out. (If you stay and help, most often an amazing Vegetarian lunch is available to sweeten the deal) Highly recommend checking this place out!
