I feel in her a kindred spirit and she has had great empathy for my experience. I was surprised we didn't do a lot of actual eye movement but we did do a lot of what she calls resourcing which is basically using cognitive restructuring to build the resiliency framework necessary to do the harder work. She kept telling me to hang in there and trust the process. All I can say is, what we have been doing, has been effective beyond my wildest imaginings. I am so much more resilient and confident in my ability to handle challenges than I used to be. I was able to move from therapy into a serious Zen practice that has deepened my understanding of all the mind-body awareness things she has talked about over the years. Some issues I thought I would be living with for the rest of my life seem to have vanished. I don't even need weekly therapy anymore. It's true she does cancel a lot but my schedule has always been pretty flexible and she's always been willing to accommodate things that come up for me. When my son was diagnosed with a disability she was also able to pivot the focus of therapy and provide that support until I found another specialist in that area. She has a very flexible and receptive approach to therapy that works very well for me. I would recommend her to anyone with complex trauma as well as mothers of young children - she gets it!

After a few visits, both my wife and I decided that we would never see anyone else for our medical needs and asked if he would become our Primary Care Physician (PCP). He agreed and we have never looked back. Chaka is always there for us when we have a medical need. He is more knowledgeable than any of the doctors that were foisted on us when our "regular" doctors retired. More importantly, he cares about his patients. I have even received a follow-up phone call from him at 10:30 at night when he was wrapping up his days work at the clinic. Apparently if you question her diagnosis after years of failure, you lack incite and therefore have mental illness of her prejudice. I stop seeing her and have had a few psych's after her and finally am better under a different cluster of disease categories. Maybe it was covid or maybe it was her lacking incite into her own ego. Sometimes one diagnosis doesn't work better than a list. I'm glad I found a new psychiatrist that listens and doesn't gaslight. I wanted to write a formal letter from my lawyer but it's literally not worth it. Medicine is a practice; hope she improves.

I have been wanting to post a review for quite some time but I was too preoccupied with trying to…read morefix what Gretchen broke, my child. I initially went to her for my child's lack of focus and behavior and what I received at the end was a serious gut infection that lasted over six months. Her protocol consisted of over 30 "natural supplements" per day, the majority, several times per day, for months, which by the way also costs a fortune. But don't ever complain about how much all these things costs because she will throw that in your face at a later time. It shifted my child's gut so significantly, that every board certified physician I consulted with, including pediatric gastroenterologists and functional nutritionists stated she should be held accountable for implementing such aggressive methods on such a little body. But wait, you are obligated to sign a 50 page contract that no one has the time to fully read and you are so desperate to help your child that you sign away your rights if she messes up. Lesson learned!!!! My poor child lost 10 pounds in a matter of two months, couldn't eat, sleep or attend any social events because of how ill he became. I trusted her and followed through with her protocol for months on end because "oh she had 4+ stars she must be good, right??" Not only was there ZERO improvement, but levels of colon inflammation that you would not believe. I put my child through hell and back with numerous appointments for months on end and I spent thousands trying to fix what she did. If you believe in holistic approaches, this is not what you are getting here. Rather, you are getting everything but the kitchen sink thrown at you in a "one size fits all approach" trying to see what will stick. If you want someone who will belittle you and speak to you in the most demeaning tone and make you feel like you have failed as a parent if you dare question the amount of supplements being given, then by all means. When I told her my child was getting more sick by the hour, she turned it all around like she's the one suffering and stated that my child's situation is causing her great stress and that I should email her instead, that she would get back to me another time because she's "going off the grid." Her EXACT words! When she finally got back to me, she continued to speak to me like I am the reason this is happening. I have never been so upset in all of my life. I cried and cried for months for what happened to my child because I entrusted my child in her care. Finally, after 8 long months and numerous specialists, my child is back to normal. Please do your homework and always, always go with your gut feeling.
