I believed that lie until I was about ten. I guess that was to prevent me from buying all the awesome goodies this shop has to offer. Sorry, parents. I'm buying gifts for myself. They have everything! And I really mean everything. They have all my childhood candies next to a stand of plastic balloons. You know, those little tubes which you squeeze until this substance comes out which you blow into with the use of a little stick. There's a shelf with plates, spoons and forks and knives, cups and lunchboxes. And in the center, you'll find notebooks, stickers, pens, art materials, cellphone cases and the occasional sex toy. Speaking of toys, they do have toys for babies and children and adults who collect toys. Not into those things? They have bags, clothes and hats too. I remember being dragged here by my mom whenever I needed a costume for school. "You're only going to wear it once anyway. But it at Regina," she'd say. Don't get me wrong, their clothes don't break after one use. They have cool socks and hats. And sometimes if you're lucky, they have sell Christmas stockings. I can't remember everything they sell at this shop. So it would be great if you have a look for yourself. You won't be disappointed and you'll leave with lots of loot.

Almost all my kids' toys are bought here, Toy Kingdom sells a wide variety of educational, active play, plush animal, creative toys and much more. The only comment I have is about the salespeople, they are all accommodating, but they follow us around and hand different toys to my kids. When I was busy checking out play tents , one of the salesladies even let my two year old hold a big box of ice cream maker around witch was worth PHP 900.00, and gave my four year old a makeup kit for teens worth PHP 650.00. I calmly asked them to stop giving toys to my kids and just played and keep them entertained until we were able to buy the perfect toys.

It made such an impression on me that I found myself going there years later to feed my own nerdy needs. To categorize them just as a comic book store would be a big mistake. While bulk of their products do include comics from big wigs like DC, Marvel, Vertigo and more, they do have so much more than that. Graphic Novels are among the many things you'll find here. We'll technically speaking, it can fall into the comic book category as well. What I love about Filbar's is that they carry works by local artists. I was extremely impressed that they have Arnold Arre's collected works for Mythology Class and it's priced at less than P500. For someone who has pored over every page of Mythology Class in my college days, this is really a gem of a find. When famous Pinoy inker and local graphic novel legend Gerry Alanguilan came out with Elmer in 2011, this was my first place to look for a copy. Thankfully, I did get my hands on one. They also have a lot of comic-inspired shirts, posters and bags. Of course, they have collectible toys, too. I've been looking into collecting Funko POP lately and of course, they would be my top pick for sourcing my first ever piece. I can't wait to get my hands on that Dancing Groot Funko POP. When you head inside, the first thing you'll probably notice is the floor to almost ceiling shelves stocked with nothing but Funko Pop figures. This is probably the most complete collection of Funks I've ever seen. If there's one in particular you're looking for, I'm sure you'll probably find it in here somewhere. But that's not all they have. They also have a good collection of both action figures and anime figurines so there's bound to be something for any kind of figure collector. Apart from that, I've also seen a good bunch of keychains and a rack of shirts and jackets. As far as collectibles are concerned, this is probably one of the best stocked hobby stores I've seen where they don't just focus on one type of collectible but have a bunch of different ones. I probably wouldn't say this is a place where you can find more obscure anime but it's definitely somewhere you can try to take a look.

Afroken? What about Rilakkkuma? For the uninitiated, Rilakkuma is a Sanrio-X character described as a bear in a "lazy and relaxed mood". He's simply that: a cute little teddy bear. Might be just me but I enjoy seeing foreign franchises come our way. Happy Land (yes, that's what it's called) sells nothing but Rilakkuma merchandise. Stuffed toys, notebooks, chopsticks, keychains, cellphone accessories... everything that you would expect to find in a quirky Japanese stationery/merch store. And as exected, everything is toothachingly adorable. And unfortunately, walletachingly expensive. Of course, your mileage may vary. If you've got some cash to burn, a huge fan of Rilakkuma and can't resist some decent quality merch, I say go for it. I was also looking for a place where I can buy prizes for the games at that time so I decided to give Anding's a try. My verdict: Okay. The place is big and packed with a lot of toys for kids of all ages, cute costumes and paper decor and ornaments. The staff are also helpful but a little distracted (to be fair, there were a lot of customers when we went and it was October, considered a peak season because of Halloween), and in true Divisoria fashion, the prices are lower compared to mall price. However, I'm a quite stingy and I don't mind searching the streets of Divisoria to find the best bargains so I still found their prices too high at Divisoria level. Or maybe I was just to not easily impressed that day. I would rather go to Tabora for the costumes and decor, and find cheaper toys elsewhere. But to be fair (again), the quality of their toys are much better than the ones I saw in other stalls. So I still ended up buying a few toys and party decors there and continued my bargain-hunting somewhere else.
