I needed the cleaning so agreed to let her do the job. Mindy and her supervisor did clean thoroughly. Once she charged my card it was considerably more than quoted. Mindy was very passive aggressive to talk to. Rude to my husband. I will not use her again. Over priced and shifty in her pricing. I am mad and embarrassed that I was took. read more

Did not do a good job cleaning - the dusting was horrible as used an oily furniture polish and didn't wipe it thoroughly which left it streakly. Didn't clean bathtubs well. Think they poured cleaner that smelled good in them to mask that they weren't cleaned. When I brought all the issues up, they reluctanly agreed to come back and finish the dusting but never showed up or called. Would not use them again nor would i recommend them. read more

Wow, I wished I would have read the reviews prior to hiring this woman. The first page of reviews is entirely one star reviews! No need to dig further than that. I had similar experiences to those I just read. I had company coming in for a visit and needed the house clean. I work 12 hour days Mon-Fri, and didn't have the time. My stay-at-home wife was at her mom's in Lake Jackson and our last cleaning lady was dismissed two weeks prior. After introducing herself upon arriving, and learning of our last lady, she proceeded to bad mouth her at length which I thought unprofessional. She seemed mildly manic. Then, Mindy gave me this long-winded sales pitch about "first-time deep cleaning" for $470.00, and after that it would be "maintenance cleaning" once a week for $110.00, which was $15 more than our last lady. Our home is a small canal-front home, not even 1600 sq ft. The whole pricing scheme seemed suspect at the time, but she assured me that my house would be so clean that would be worth it, that she would never miss a day and was a complete professional, and besides those were the terms for her to take me on as a client. Total BS, y'all, but considering my situation I agreed. They spent about 2.5 hours that day (my house is never really dirty, just cluttered) There were no dishes to do, etc. The thing is, last two times she came she spent about 2 hrs with the same number of girls. So by my math the labor cost doesn't make sense. The initial "deep cleaning" I suppose is for the privilege of having her as a cleaning lady The first day we were not impressed. She left pocket change stuck to an end table that had been stuck there from some dribbling of baby formula from a bottle. They left dirty rags upstairs. They used the most horribly powerful carpet powder deodorizer that took a week for the scent to go away. I specifically told her that we are sensitive to artificial deodorants and don't want them. Our house does not smell like anything! There was no need! The only smell in our house if that of brand new carpet, and fresh paint (just renovated). The very next time she used that god awful stuff again. That first day they left smears on the baseboards. THEY REARRANGED ALL SORTS OF DECORATIONS that my wife had put out. They picked flowers out of our front flowerbeds and put them in vases they found under the sink. It was annoying though appreciated the effort, did not appreciate ripping out flowers. Long story short, her work is not anything special and I like many others on here fell victim to her preposterous pricing scheme for "first time deep cleaning". She did nothing more than she did the second and third time, except spending 30 extra minutes rearranging our stuff and picking flowers from the front yard. I will say that although not thorough, it wasn't in itself a 1 star cleaning, I just feel totally ripped off for the "deep cleaning" charge and my experience I wouldn't recommend to anyone. We agreed upon a time she would come in the afternoon - I received three phone, two texts and a voicemail calls telling me she was on her way 5 hours before we expected her, we had no one home at the house to let her in. I was able to get home early from work to let her in after rearranging my schedule for the day. After a brief walk through, she stated it would be $600 to clean 2/3 of the house. After some haggling I talked her down to $450, after picking which rooms I didn't want her to clean. She was mildly abrasive, and shady with the pricing. I am posting this on behalf of my father-in-law who is not a yelp user, however I think it is important to get the word out about this woman who is a complete thief! "On July 21, 2009 Mindy Rangel of Mindy Maids was scheduled to clean my 3000 square foot home. The cleaning services promised for the price of $397 included mopping, dusting, carpet cleaning, furniture cleaning, windows inside and out, base boards, countertops, fake plants, and bathrooms (including showers, toilets, and sinks). Mindy arrived two hours late, with only one worker who she dropped off to clean the entire home alone for 2 1/2 hours. When we came home and inspected her work we were devastated to find that not only did Mindy Maids not clean what we had asked her to, but also that all the counter tops, lamps, and fake and real plants had been sprayed with a greasy substance. The floors were sticky and unclean. The windows still had cobwebs and streaks on them. One of our bathroom showers had been untouched and had dead roaches still gathered at the bottom. The baseboards were filthy with dust and cat hair. The couch was also still covered with cat hair. The air conditioning vents were also still filthy. It was clear that Mindy Maids had not performed the services promised. We had to hire Merry Maids to come the next day and clean the mess that Mindy Maids didn't clean and to clean up after the added mess that Mindy Maids created themselves. My wife and I called that evening to try and resolve the issue with the owner, Mindy, who yelled and refused to work with us to fix the situation and would not refund any money. My wife had hired her to come because she was going into the hospital the next day for a double mastectomy surgery and wanted to make sure the house was taken care of. When she explained this to the owner, Mindy scoffed and rudely stated, "Well, at your age..." implying that my wife was so old that she somehow should have expected to get breast cancer. By the way, I don't think Mindy is much younger than my wife. After speaking to Mindy on the phone and finding out that she was ripping us off we called our credit card company to dispute the charge. However, we found out that Mindy had already charged the credit card a week before our scheduled cleaning and it was too late to cancel the charge because she had already received the funds from the credit card company. We also found out that she had charged our credit card for $581 instead of the agreed upon price of $397. Not only did Mindy Rangel of Mindy Maids commit fraud on us by not performing the duties we paid for, but she actually outright stole money from us by making unauthorized charges on our credit card. Because of this we had to cancel our credit cards. Afterwards, we did some research and found multiple complaints from multiple people throughout the Corpus Christi area. We couldn't find a single review that wasn't extremely negative. It seems that this company has a pattern of stealing from and committing fraud on its customers and her business of fraud and theft needs to shut down." It's all in the details! I hired Mindy Maids from a google search, and I'm so glad I did! The staff of two arrived and immediately got to work. They were extremely professional and fully accommodated my special and last minute requests. The results... OMG! I haven't seen my house sparkle like this in a long time! They cleaned the sheets, folded towels, fluffed [and karate chopped] pillows, shined floors and faucets, and neatly arranged my out of place items so that I could easily locate them. My house looks and smells AMAZING!!! When they say they are home 'detailers', they mean it. As an Airbnb host and person with high expectations (and very hard to please), I was EXTREMELY impressed with their services. at this time I was 7 months pregnant and had just gotten out of the hospital for respiratory issues so my mother hired this maid service to come and deep clean my house, to help with my asthma and help me get a jump start on prepping for baby (since I've had my share of complications during my pregnancy and have not been able to be as active as one typically would at 7 months) they charged me 550 to clean my barely 1000 square ft house (excluding spare bedroom and half bathroom). thinking this was a deep cleaning service I agreed with the price and the cleaning began. The main woman was whispering very strangely to the maids to scrub baseboards and scrub walls (which they never did) it was a very awkward experience and were only here about an hour and a half after arriving 3 hours late... they also left without notification thst they were "finished" so that I could do a walk through of my house and approve of the job that was done or putting any of my furniture back together or back in place. read more

I am a very easy person to please and the fact that Mindy Maids was unable to do so speaks volumes about their work. I paid them $600... I repeat... $600 for a deep clean in my home. I would understand the pricing if I were a hoarder or lived in a mansion, but my home is only 2,000 sqft and I'm a stay at home mom so I keep the house pretty organized and clean to the best of my abilities. Mindy Maids had excellent reviews so I figured they were worth the money and decided to accept their offer. Right when the owner entered my home she immeadiately started to bad-mouthing her clients and how she hates when they complain or leave bad reviews. I didn't really mind listening to her, but it was pretty unprofessional. Her and another girl were in my home for about 5 hours. They did of course clean the home, but once they left I started to realize they completely ripped me off. They left dirty rags all over the house, even one on the ceiling fan! Did a horrendous job on the baseboards, completely skipped cleaning multiple fans, they even skipped sweeping the mopping the master bedroom. They just straight up didn't do it. I texted the owner later that day with photos of all the places they skipped and asked her to come back and finish the job. She responded quickly and came back to finish the next day. While she was in my home she told me that I made her partner cry by asking them to come back to finish cleaning. I'm not sure why she felt she needed to tell me that or even why her employee cried over it because this is a business, not a friendship and I was super polite when I asked them to finish their missed work. Two weeks pass and it's time for them to come again. I texted the owner the night before (pretty late, about 11:30pm) to confirm for the following day. I didn't except a response, but she texted back and told me that "she's going to come Friday instead because she has a funeral to attend". I would be very understanding of her needing to reschedule if she had only talked with me ahead of time-- even earlier that day would have been nice. I assume she just wasn't going to show up at 8am the next morning or was going to call and reschedule after she failed to show up. Anyway, I would only recommend this service to those who like to pay for overpriced, mediocre work with a gossipy owner. I told her we no longer needed her services and immeadiatly hired an extrmemely competent and fairly priced service who has done a ten-fold better job than Mindy Maids. Very disappointed. I regret this choice. Some of the work was adequate, but enough aspects were done poorly that I wish I would have chosen a different service provider. The price quoted was not the price charged. I asked on multiple occasions what I would be charged. I was charged $22 more. Out of principle, I find this offensive. I think the service provider should be required to get a credit card receipt. They were over 1 1/2 hours late. They called ahead, but an appointment is an appointment, and I expect my time to be respected. They didn't call and ask if this was okay. They merely called to inform me that they would be late. They moved around items and did not replace them. Over a half a day has passed, and I still can't find things. Their definition of deep cleaning does not sync with mine. For example, they left dusty times in rooms. They left dirty shoe prints all over the floor. Cabinets were not cleaned inside or out even though that was part of the discussion. Certain areas were just neglected. They also turned my air conditioner down 10 degrees. They did not inform me of this decision (which I wouldn't have approved of), and they left it down. Since they were late, I was extremely anxious to leave when they finished, and my air conditioning remained in the 60s. It's the little acts of disrespect that frustrated me.
