I had one of my most enjoyable experiences ever swinging in to see the shop. I'm from out of town, and I was looking for local rocks and fossils for a friend. When I walked in, I was immediately struck by how organized it was and the amazing diversity of collection that they had in there. Sunny, one of the proprietors, gave me a quick and very cheerful greeting as I walked in and was very informative on all of the collections that they had. I told her I was looking for rocks and minerals found in Arizona and she was quick to showcase the absolutely amazing collection they have. Sunny's associate, Julia, gave me a tour of the absolutely incredible UV reactive minerals which blew my mind. I've travel the world, and have seen many amazing things like glowing, moths and luminescent waves, but the natural beauty of these rocks shown in their special room was just an incredible experience. Her detailed information of each one of the specimens was a very impressive display of knowledge and passion. I was able to purchase several items and left very very satisfied. The prices were extremely reasonable and fair, the diverse collection would absorb anybody for hours. If I wasn't on short time to go back to work, I would still be there right now. I think this place is new. It is located in a business district off Hardy Rd just north of Southern Ave. The owners are very friendly and seem well informed. The shop is small but they do have a variety of rocks and minerals. I was mostly interested in the geodes (see photos) that they have available. Prices seem appropriate. Worth taking a look depending on the type of rocks you are interested in. read more

I visited Miners with my kids to get some info about a big rock we found. First, know that they really are miners and archeological experts. Second, they are REALLY nice and down to earth. Made it clear that their shop is totally family friendly and that I didn't need to constantly tell my kids to "Put that down! Don't touch anything!" Third, everything in the shop is amazing, beautiful, and unique. We got a complete tour of the shop and it's different rooms, education about mining and different types of stones, a demonstration on fluorescence, free samples, and a professional assessment and division of our rock that turned out to be a geode! My sister and I stumbled upon this place one Saturday. It is by far the best rock, mineral shop in Phoenix area. They own several mines and are so very knowledgable about their craft. Their prices are very fair and they don't hover while you walk through the rooms. Yet, if you have any questions, they are happy to answer your questions. We stayed about an hour just looking and talking. By the time we left, we felt we had a new friend. There is also amazing dinosaur paintings sold there, that are created by the owners son.
