Rice is soft and fluffy. Service is very friendly and in a reasonable time. You have to keep in mind, you're in Battle Mountain, NV. This spot isn't perfect, but boy is it good! Just moving here to northern NV from southern CA, I've had some good Chinese cuisine and was looking for it here in NV. The place we have in Winnemucca is not even worth trying, it really is that bad. So I had high hopes for Ming Dynasty. Walking in, the restaurant looks as though it was set up for dine-in, but the interior makes me want to do takeout instead. Having only come here for lunch, though, I always dine-in. I ordered a water to start, and explored the menu. The menu is very typical of a dine in restaurant. If you are looking for Chinese fast food, this isn't it. You have to order, and everything is made as you order it. No steam tables up front. I ordered the Beef Broccoli lunch special ($9.95, comes with your entree, steamed rice, 2 spring rolls, and a fortune cookie), and when it came out, it looked fantastic. The plating was nice, and everything looked hot. The spring rolls, however, we're still cold in the middle. Not frozen, but they definitely would have benefited from being in the fryer another minute or so. I have been back 2 more times, though, and it hasn't happened again. The food only took 10-ish minutes to come out, and my server was and always is smiling and happy to take my to go orders after. I tried to give this place a new chance once a year. No more. Twice I had a small stone in the rice that almost broke a tooth. Also, grit in vegetables like they don't wash them first. Cook obviously has no idea what he's/ she's doing. A total embarrassment to bring friends from out of town. Over all, definitely THE worst restaurant in town. Avoid at all costs. read more

Where to begin..this is the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my whole entire life..I understand this is a,small town..maybe tastes are simple. Whatever the case.this is what I ordered..sweet n sour pork..very dry barely any sauce n didn't taste like any sweet n sour pork I have ever had...lol no pineapple I. It just blah..I cant even eat it I may go to the market n buy a bottle of sweet n sour.lol n dump it on there..lol next I ordered the combo rice..I haven't even eaten or tried it because it looks gross next I ordered the walnut shrimp. A few years back I stopped eating here due to a bad experience. So now with new people running it I tried it again. Outcome, the mushroom chicken tasted like dirt, the beef fried rice had no flavor, the vegetable fried rice was broccoli eggs and rice, the beef broccoli was tasteless, and the orange chicken was so so. I stopped in at dinner time while traveling through to head out to hunt up north of Elko. I wanted to load up on a nice Chinese meal before being stuck with "hunting fare" of crackers, beer and tuna fish...lol. I ordered three dishes hoping to have some food later while in the woods. I ordered the pork lo main (sic) and a large dish of fried rice. I also ordered a large bowl of the hot and spicy soup. The poor lady that took my order asked twice if I did not want a small bowl of soup, as I'm sure most folks don't order that much food just for themselves. Well my plans included have a take out of leftovers for later. The food was PLENTIFUL and spot on of what you might expect of a lil old hole in the wall diner.
