Never thought I would say Chinese food was bad, until I ate here. Over priced, portion looks large but was mostly breading. Breading tasted like pancake mix deep fried. Egg roll was more of a ravioli, it was mushy, and very greasy. I would recommend driving into Lethbridge for some Chinese food. read more

We used to go there for wor won ton a while back as it was very good. Went there today for it & was very dissapointed. It tasted and looked like it was made from the dishwater. The ingredients were not up to standards, in our opinions. We asked the waitress for some hot sauce & was informed that it was a dollar extra ... WHAT ... AND then after we used a couple teaspoons of it from a small container, she took it back & put the rest back in the jar. One would think that paying 20 bucks for a bowl of soup that a couple of dabs of hot sauce would be thrown in??? Mentioned this to the waitress when paying & I just got a shoulder shrug, as if to say "oh well". We left a 10 cent tip (not justified) with the mind fix of never returning. read more

Worse excuse for chinese food ever. You would think they would have some standards to meet.

Service was terrible waited 2 1/2 hours for food and then when we got it we were missing part of our order called the restaurant to let them know that we were missing it and were told to bring back menu with order on it so the kitchen staff could make sure we weren't basically lying. Took the receipt back to the restaurant and was told it would be another 15 minutes for the missing item. There was no I'm sorry for this or anything felt like they couldn't care less. I asked for a refund for the missing item and nobody had any idea how to do that except the chef. I had not eaten here for 10 years and I will not be going back again ever. read more

One of the best things about Mings is the free won ton with a pick up order over $30. They are typically $10-15 cheaper then other major Chinese food restaurants in the southern Alberta region. The one down fall is there estimated time for pick up seems to be under estimating and I've had to wait several addition minutes for my pick up delivery, beyond the time quoted. I would definitely recommend Mings; great food, good size portions and very reasonable priced. read more

First and absolutely last time to MING's. Waitress attitude was beyond rude to us and the customer trying to place a take out order, while on speaker. We walk in, we say Hello with no response from the waitress who was standing at the front. After about a minute she says sit anywhere. Then after a while of sitting there waiting. The waitress ask what do you want to drink at us from the front desk. We state we first time here, don't know what you have. She goes we have Coke. We go do you anything else, or even menus. She gets up and walks away ohhh ya menu's. She goes into the kitchen. She comes out stating if I have time to someone in the kitchen. She drops off menus and finally order drinks. Then phone rings, the waitress answers with no greetings again to the lady on the phone. The waitress puts it on speaker phone. Then states we are only taking take out orders until 6:30pm. It is currently 3:30pm. The caller says can you speak up, I am having a hard time hearing you. The waitress states I have you on speaker. The caller states, that is why you are hard to hear and keep cutting out. Can you take me off speaker? The waitress response was, "No, it is your phone." The caller was upset and proceeds to place order, with name and phone number can be heard by us. Then the waitress says your order will be ready for pick up at 6:30pm. The caller says, no I will be there in 10 minutes. The waitress says they will not have it ready by then, they do not have time. The caller says I am already on my way to pick up the order. Waitress says we will not have it ready until closer to 6:30pm a whole 3 hours later. The waitress says I will ask the kitchen to see if they have time to get it made before 6:30pm. By the time hearing all this, we were done and just wanted to leave in case it takes 3 hours for us to get food. The waitress then on her way to the kitchen, asks us if we were ready to order. I say I have a few questions, hoping that they are really not going to be that long. She goes to the kitchen, advising them the staff of the take out order. She turns around to face us, stating I informed them that it would not be ready until 6:30 pm. Then she states what are the questions. I ask about the hot pot and sizzling fried rice. Get told that someone from Calgary order it yesterday and absolutely hated it but it is a really good dish. That was it for my table companion. He stated, we are going to pay for our drinks and go to a different restaurant. She goes do you have any more questions. No, we will just go elsewhere, thank you. She starts talking about how she is trying to be accompanying, but just comes in and orders drinks. Continued to get ruder about us and the phone in order when two other people walk in. She stated people should realize that she does not have time for this. We said thank you and walked out. Do not go there, since they do not have the time to serve people. Wish the restaurant luck on stating open with this attitude towards there customers. read more

I've tried this place 3x in 6 years. I was less than just not impressed. I've eaten at Chinese restaurants in several countries and in an even larger variety of culinary influences within those countries. On the buffet, I had to search for anything not North American, and the takeout I'd gotten (I've tried it at least 2 different times) was like American food--very salted and no hint of ginger, soy, or other Chinese seasonings. But, I thank the restaurant for forcing me to cook Chinese at home - - I've become quite good. Now, I can make a much tastier meal that more closely resembles Chinese cuisine for 1/4 the price and the in half the time. So, thank you for that. read more

Take out was quick. The chicken balls and ginger beef were the best, along with the deep fried wontons. Will get those again.

The food tastes good, but it's some of the worst service I have ever encountered especially over the phone. I would literally rather drive all the way in to Lethbridge for Chinese takeout and Every time I phone Ming's to order that's exactly what I end up doing. What a shame. read more

What can I say about this place? It is really a shame that the Chinese food taste great. However, to say that the service sucks is the understatement of the century. It is really beyond believe. Every time you order for "take out" they'll tell you it will be 40 minutes. You show up and they tell you "oh, it's going to be another half hour". If this just happened once you could live with it but, it happens every single time!". I literally will drive into Lethbridge to order Chinese food as opposed to staying in Coaldale because of what can only be described as beyond abysmal service at this place. Just terrible. read more

This review can be taken two ways. From the view of a city girl with a plethora of Chinese food establishments to choose from Mings fell short, but for a town with a minuscule population Mings is spot on. We had the standard "Dinner for Six" which was large enough to feed twelve. The meal consisted of the usual smallville fare. Chicken chow mien and deep fried chicken balls in a canned sauce. Mings failings are in the service. Vacuuming with customers present is a major faux pas in my world, and I hate when the bill comes while people at the table are still eating. read more

Good food as usual but the wait staff is terrible! They don't greet you when you first walk in the door and take you to your table. After your at your table they don't wait on you like waitress do in the city or elsewhere they just seat you and bugger off to look like they know what they're doing supposedly cleaning other tables but never go back to check on eating customers to see if they're doing fine! Then at the end of it all forever at the paying counter before someone comes to wait on you there! Also the buffet line they never fill the containers when they're half empty and when people come in to do a one container take out meal they don't watch you or go with you to make sure your only taking what you should as a guy was there when we were there and he ate while doing up his take out container right in front of people sitting down eating and we could see it and it grossed us out! read more

I go in for their buffet about once a month. I find the food is very tasty and I enjoy it very much. The buffet is $5.00 cheaper than Chinese food buffets in Lethbridge. I live in Lethbridge, but I find that the short drive is well worth the trip. read more

You get great chinese food here. The portions are huge and the taste is great. Now I used to live on the west coast so I know my chinese food and this is a good as anything in the richmond area in BC. Their salt and pepper chicken is to die for and there are no canned sauces. The other person to review this must think living in the big city is Lethbridge or Calgary. This is the best chinese food I have had since I left the Vancouver area and yes I have tried over 20 different restaurants in Alberta. Give Mings a shot they know good food. read more

For a Man who Grew up In Richmond BC, and has eaten at some of the best Chinese Food places in BC. Mings is great, their Loo Mein is spot on and they have a few things not seen at some chinese food places like Salt and Pepper chicken. The portions are not small, they are quite large. I would recomend this for anyone that likes Chinese Food. You can not go wrong at Mings. read more
