My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing this restaurant for our first time last night and we were not let down. We were recommended to make a reservation since it was a Friday evening, and I am sure glad we did because it was a packed house! When we walked in, the front desk had a sign stating no more reservations tonight. So I'm glad we booked. Our food came quickly and came hot. Our server was very busy with a lot of tables but she managed them very well. We got all the attention we needed, and some of the other waiters helped out as well! Both my wife and I had appys to start. My wife grabbed the Neptune Stuffed Mushrooms, which were the perfect appy size and she told me they tasted wonderful! They came out on a mini hot cast iron skillet. I myself had the spicy sweet ginger crunchy wings. It came with 10... BIG... wings. They were very juicy and delicious. The panko crust did not stick very well to the actual wing though, but that is fine. My wife then ordered a Ginger Beef Bowl and I had the Almond Chicken Pizza. The bowl was a perfect size again for my wife! And she loved. My pizza tasted amazing but was not that crispy, it was crispy at the crust though. I had to eat it with a fork and knife this time around. My wife and I estimated our bill and when it came, we were surprised with how cheap it was! We had two main courses, two appys, one virgin Bellini, a Caesar and a mojito! I really think it's reasonable! My only complaint was it took awhile to actually pay the bill, but it's busy! We went to Firestone to celebrate my birthday. I've visited there a few times before and have had fantastic experiences - unfortunately this experience didn't really fit in. Let me be clear that it wasn't a bad experience - it just did not match previous visits. While they continue to have an amazing ambiance, our server did not seem to match the experience. She was very much business only if that makes sense - like take the order and that's about it... My husband and I ordered the lobster & crab ravioli and added the 4oz tenderloin as well. No the ravioli & sauce we amazing but I have a feeling that they passed on a different cut of steak as a tenderloin because that was the chewiest tenderloin I've ever experienced. It had a good flavor but I just can't believe that it was actually tenderloin - it had the texture more of a strip loin - which is still a good cut but not worth the price of a tenderloin... Had a good meal none the less but left a tad disappointed because my expectations were so high. read more

My wife and I made a reservation on July 13 for our anniversary (44 years). When I made the reservation it asked if there were a special occasion and I ticked that it was our anniversary. When we arrived we were seated promptly and the waitress dealt with his quickly. There was no mention made by anyone of our anniversary until the end when we mentioned it and they offered a free dessert. We were very underwhelmed by the meal. I have the prime rib and my wife had the veal. Her veal was very hard on the crust and my prime rib was very tough. I am used to prime rib, particularly here in Alberta, that almost requires no knife. This was the opposite of that. First off I have To say is that the service is fantastic. My server was frequently checking in on me and she made good food recommendations. She was also very friendly and pleasant. I have the steak sandwich. It came rare like I ordered but buried under this in mountain of fried onions. A little too much. There was a little side dish of beans though that was delicious. Over all the food was good. The menu looked very versatile. Maybe I should've gone with the sushi. Where this place really shines is there dessert menu. They had three desserts for the price of two on special. I was eating by myself because I was on a work trip so I couldn't quite manage three desserts. But I did have the mini crème brûlée. The custard was good. The cook overdid it on the sugar though which made it a little grainy underneath the crusted top. As you can see in the photo they were a little enthusiastic on the torch. Great for kids. Food was good for the kids and the dessert is quite impressive. However I had the prime rib. I ordered rare and was told they could only do medium rare; which I accepted. The prime rib was half well done and half medium. My brother in law ordered medium-rare and got a steak that was well done. Then one that was rare. Then one that was perfect. His meal was comped. Terrible. Seriously bad. Service was good. Poor server has no help in the kitchen. Took nearly 45 minutes to get our food. I got a bison burger. For $17 I was incredibly disappointed. Shoulda went to A&W. Because, believe me, I've never had such a terrible burger at a restaurant. I mean, come on - a burger is supposed to be a safe order when your hesitant to let the kitchen try something beyond their capability - like this place's terrible beef Wellington. Gordon Ramsey would die from shock at even the sight of this utterly devastating attempt at a beef Wellington. Back to the burger. I asked for pink but got what looked like a frozen patty thrown on the grill until it was charred black. Then, no sauce or anything. A sliver of tasteless pickle, and two of the blandest tomatoes slices I've had since I ate a burger at McDonalds in 1995; at least the Rotten Ronnies burger was only 99¢. I'm appalled. Almost speechless. But, for the benefit of humanity I must speak out against this terrible food. Shame on you. I wish I had a tasty pop to wash this abhorrent food down. But alas, this elementary school cafeteria couldn't even manage to get us a coke with bubbles. Flat. Flat out awful. And even when the manager was asked to get some bubbles in our drink he/she was to busy beating the last drop of flavour out of our food. Shame. read more

The food was amazing. My family of four each got something different, shared an appetizer, and two desserts. Everything was amazing. The pulled pork sliders were actually the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. The wait for the food was a little lengthy, but the place was packed full so it was understandable and the food was worth the wait. Service was fantastic. The servers were so nice and accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. I wish I didn't live in Arizona so I could come back here more often. Went on a saturday afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all therefore we were seated immediately. The interior and exterior of the place is absolutely gorgeous and the patio is very open and welcoming. Our waiter was fabulous! He never kept us waiting, and had very polite manners. Ordered the Margherita Pizza, and it was made perfectly, very neat and clean.. and delicious ! Good food and good service and kid friendly. We didn't want to go to another chain restaurant, so we thought we would try Firestone. We went without a reservation, and even though it was busy we got in with a fairly short wait. ( call ahead for reservation). Menu has lots to choose from. Our meals were great and service was great. We had the chicken bellagio, linguine and broccoli (even though this is a small plate it is a lot of food) and the kids had sliders and pizza. Recommend the coconut cheesecake for dessert. read more

The last several times that I've been to this restaurant the service has been shoddy. It takes over an hour for mediocre food to come out. Today we came in for the express lunch, however they didn't have menus and then presented the express menus to another table after we had waited 10 minutes. We didn't even get asked what we wanted to drink in that period of time. We've been to other upscale restaurants for lunch in Lethbridge and those restaurants not only have great food but great service, thus Firestone will not be getting anymore business from me or my friends. read more

Been there before and had a lovely meal with good service. Took my husband for his birthday supper this evening, reservation for 5pm. We were in a nice booth, waitress took drink order and that's about it. Took a chance and ordered Mongolian beef.... supposed to be crispy sirloin pieces in a soy sauce with green beans and sticky rice. The rice was the best part. Tasted like the beef had been left to soak in the sauce and had a GRAINY as opposed to CRISPY texture to the beef and barely warm. My husband ordered beef dip, sounds pretty fool proof. The beef dip arrived first, I could see a sort of sauce in the sandwich; turned out to be a BBQ sauce! I've never had beef dip that came with bbq sauce. That totally wrecked the notion of beef dip. My husband asked waitress to bring a box for his food, it only had a small bite out of and she never asked if there was an issue with his meal. Thankfully our daughter's meal turned out, fettuccine Alfredo. Didn't stay for a piece of complimentary Birthday Cake. Servers seemed disinterested in good service, waited over 30 minutes for food that was largely inedible. Yes we took the beef dip home as I don't like wasted food that we pay for regardless, even if I have to scrape off the bbq sauce, I can also just eat the taters with the au jus. Ugh, we brought our friends here who are both vegetarians /vegans after extensively searching Lethbridge Venus for a place that caters to their ethical food requirements. Firestone is listed as vegan and vegetarian friendly on trip advisor, but trust me it's not. Quite literally the only thing on their menu that is vegetarian are the onion rings, fried pickles and fried mushrooms, all of which have egg or dairy in their sauces and a healthy dose of deep fry grease. We inquired if there was a vegan or vegetarian menu as they clearly indicate they do indeed cater for people who don't wish to ruin the planet, and they responded with "no, but we can just take the meat out of some of the dishes, not all but some. Just ask about the options one by one and we can see if that's available meat free" There was no mention of lowering the price for receiving half the dish, and no guarantee after reading the menu and settling on half a dish of that could be done or if we would be made to constantly try again. We decided to take our friends elsewhere to a more environmentally conscious and inclusive venue. I did still give this place 2 stars, as their drinks were good, and our server was nice. But these guys really need to step out of the 80s, over 12% of the population are vegetarians or vegans and you are losing all of their business. read more

I ordered 2 dishes and I dearly hope they're not indicative of the overall quality. The lettuce wraps were just the filling in a bamboo steamer atop a soggy piece of parchment, and included an inedible hunk of cabbage, and the 'wrap' was DIY -- a small head of iceberg on the side as if to say "Screw it: you do it. We're busy." The wings I ordered 'crispy' which they apparently re-defined to mean "deep fried with about a cm thick layer of gooey breading." I've never seen wings like that before and, frankly, hope to never again. Would not go again unless desperate. Overpriced for portion and quality. read more

Very reasonable priced for really yummy food! I got the fish tacos - they were lightly beaded and perfectly done. My daughter got a vegan beyond burger and Fred mushrooms and was sooooo happy that one - they were delicious and two there was actually really good vegan options on the menu. My friend got a cheeseburger and really liked it. There waffle chips were really goo too! I had a couple martinis that were very tasty and to top it off the doughnuts were hot and soooo good. And, again, the prices were great. Service was prompt and friendly as well. My only regret is that we are only here for the night and can not eat here again. One of my co-workers recommended this place since we are all here for an extended time. It was fairly easy to find but parking is kind of limited since it shares with the attached hotel. When I walked in it was obvious that it was the place to be because it was super packed in the waiting area. I found my way to the bar and sat. The bartenders were extremely busy. The ticket orders kept printing out non-stop the entire time I waited. Once they caught back up they were able to greet me. I asked for the menu and looked over the menu. I settled on the Chicken Bellagio (reminds me of the cheesecake factory version). When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that it really did resemble the Cheesecake Factory version. Only difference was they served it with fresh corn and mash potatoes versus noodles. I was able to eat 2 out of 3 of the chicken breast. The mashed potatoes were good addition with the sweet corn. I always forget how good broiled tomatoes are and the one they had for garnish was amazing. I ordered the lavender lemonade with coconut rum added and it was delicious. I ordered the "My Donuts" to go.When I got back to the hotel they were just ok seemed as though they were fried to long and were hard. All in all I had an ok experience. My rating though comes from the experience I saw with the people next to me. They had been waiting for their order of guacamole for sometime to the point where they had only been given the chips. They were told that they waiter went to the wrong table and that they were on their way to make that guacamole to them. I called ahead and they were wonderful on the phone- super friendly and able to accommodate a table of 9 people within a ridiculous time frame (15 mins from when I called!) The restaurant has really cool decor. Red and black contrast, and a wicked patio that we were afraid to sit on due to the looming rain clouds, otherwise we would have loved to be out there. The menu has incredible variety- everything from tacos to steak. But here's the best part.... You've heard of beer flights before? They do WINE flights. Yes, that's what I said. WINE flights my friend. 3 2 oz glasses of either red or white wine. I got a red flight and it made my week. Just do it. The food was great as well, but I was jealous of the rice and chicken dish across from me that looked a bit tastier than my sauceless fish tacos! (I can't do cilantro, so no sauce for me.) My meal didn't seem to fit their Polished Casual Dining theme. It found it lacking flavour and quite over priced for what I got (2.5/5). My fiancée raved about her tacos but added a side of Sweet Potato fries. She was too full afterwards to order dessert. First time at this restaurant because hubby and I were looking for a good steak restaurant. We were staying at the attached Coast hotel, so decided to try it since it had pretty good reviews. So glad we did! I ordered a large glass of Cabernet which was lovely and I ordered the rib eye steak. It was about 10oz, cooked to perfection just the way I like it, so flavourful and soft, topped with sautéed mushrooms, and served with potato rolls which were super neat. We didn't know what to expect, and it turns out they are mashed potatoes wrapped in a crispy won ton wrapper and topped with cheese, sour cream, green onions, and bacon. There were also some young carrots split lengthwise on the side. Everything was so tasty, and I was very pleased with the mea! The ambiance was great too! Had a hip feel, and the place was busy with socially distant tables all full. We didn't have a reservation, but at 7pm only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. We were lucky because people behind us were being told 20-25 minutes, so we got there just ahead of a rush. The noise level was not overpowering, and it felt like hubby and I could have a conversation while still feeling that the place was pleasantly full. Baby back ribs with blackberry bbq sauce were very good, tender and sweet/spicy. The roasted side of baby carrots, butternut squash, and parsnips were tasty. A mound of swirl piped mash had undertones of nutmeg. Huckleberry Lemonade was fun. However a couple of friends were not happy with sides. First a too salty clam chowder, which the staff happily replaced with a more expensive side at no extra cost. Not for a lack of selection on the menu, it's just the food was soooo mediocre, bland, even sent back the salad roll appetizer, it was literally spaghetti noodles and chicken soaked in peanut sauce, and it just wasn't good; I was expecting Vietnamese style salad rolls. The wrapped mashed potatoes, again, had potential, but fell flat, not enough flavour. Near the end of June my boyfriend and I went out for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We heard that Firestone offered complementary shuttle service when a reservation is made, and it was absolutely awesome! Our driver was very kind and keen on making our experience great (possibly his name was Ron?). Unfortunately, the shuttle service was really the only good part of the night. We were sat at a beautiful two-top table right near the fountain (that unfortunately was not working but still looked nice). Our waiter seemed a little bit flustered when he took our drink order, but we eventually received them after about 5-10 minutes. I ordered a glass of the kung-fu girl riesling which was decently priced for the quality of wine and my boyfriend ordered one of the Firestone beers, which he quite liked. We started off with an order of the Vietnamese Summer Rolls. They were really fresh tasting and we both loved the cilantro dipping sauce. For entrees, I ordered the BBQ cedar plank salmon which was very nice, the grapefruit in the citrus marmalade added a really nice acidity to the dish. Unfortunately the waiter forgot my gravy for the mashed potatoes, but the girl who ran our food promptly brought one out to me. My boyfriend ordered a fire grilled sirloin, which he ordered medium rare, but unfortunately came out medium. Everything else was extremely tasty! When our food arrived I ordered another glass of wine, which never came. And that was the last time we saw our waiter for about 40 minutes. It was so unfortunate because we were having such a great time, and went without a refill of water or another round of drinks for that whole time. We tried to flag down another server and finally got the attention of a hostess, and I explained the situation to her, but still no one (not the hostess, a manager or our server) came out to serve us. Finally our waiter came out and I reminded him of the glass of wine I had ordered when I received my food (which had now been sitting in front of us- done- for awhile now). He proceeded to tell us "Ah, sorry I went on my break", he also seemed to care less. I honestly could not believe that he said that! I have been a server for 8+ years and would never take a break in the middle of a dinner service! Our server wasn't personable, did not try and find out what we were celebrating. Nothing was rectified in the situation, management probably never knew. What should have been a really fun evening for the two of us was really distracting and not worth the money we spent. All in all, we paid over $120.00. I even though the shuttle service was great and the food was appetizing, we will not be spending any more money at firestone for the crappy service we received.
