However I would not say that the interior decor is modern or very out dated that it need renovation. It was more of the feeling "I know I'm in a Chinese restaurant" Dim Sum is ordered by marking on a menu sheet and then handed to a staff. I am not sure if there is an English version as ours where in Chinese. I'm sure staff happy to translate if there is not. The quality dim sum is comparable or even better than many places in London Chinatown. They even have Yolk bun which is not found in many places in London. This is a steamed bun that is smiliar to custard bun but is has a creamy runny salty egg yolk center which has a slightly sandy texture. This bun is best enjoyed hot so when it arrived make sure you eat it first. The mini egg tarts is made well and on a busy weekend they will run out. Once gone they are gone! I love the congee (savoury Chinese rice pudding) because they are huge portion compare to most places and it come served with Chineses savoury doughnuts. But the prices does reflect the size of the portion. There is a lunch rice and noodle menu. On there is a handmade cuttlefish ball noodle. You won't get this anywhere else so worth trying if you ever visit Go Sing.

This is their favourite Chinese restaurant that they always hit when they're up this way. Go Sing offers an 'all you can eat for one price' deal but you get to order (repeatedly) from a menu of almost 100 dishes. This is probably less wasteful than a buffet and you get to sample the exact dishes that you would like. The staff were friendly and attended to all our needs, refilling tea cups as necessary. We had half a crispy duck to share and my American friends were happy to let me have my favourite part - gnawing the bones! It's hard to go wrong with crispy duck. Then a selection of starters and the undoubted star was the squid in salt and chilli batter - the squid was nice and tender with crunchy and flavoursome batter. We ordered 2 extra portions! For main course, we rated the duck in honey and lemon sauce highly, with the lemon balancing against the honey well. I got my friends to try the ma po tofu, which may have changed their attitude to tofu! A nice place to catch up and get a tummy full of yummy food.

Highly recommend the mixed hors d'oeuvres. Dishes are generous, service is relaxed and friendly. Duck pancakes are the best I've ever had (and it's a constant mission of mine), veges and meat are fresh, well cooked and rice is sticky as. In hot competition with the duck pancakes is my new favourite, lamb and lettuce. Comes with a gorgeously sticky plum sauce. If you are celebrating a birthday let them know and you will be in for a glorious treat. Cliff Richard singing "Congratulations" (yes, that version!) at 100 decibels, with the lights off, coloured lasers tripping around the room and then a big serve of toffee apples and bananas smothered in vanilla ice-cream -- woop!

Their crispy chilli beef is awesome, the portions are good, I don't think I've ever had a bad dish from Oriental Star. We're in the area quite regaularly and use this takeaway loads. We don't get Chinese back at home (deepest darkest Essex) because all the local ones to us never match up to the Oriental Star... If you're looking for a good Chinese - then look no further.
