This has to hands down be the best Japanese restaurant in Prague if not Czech Republic. This is an…read moreauthentic Japanese restaurant and the owners and cooks are Japanese. Too often you see other Asian restaurants just throw sushi onto their menu only to be disappointed in the quality of sushi. The restaurant is located out of the busy areas but it is well worth the trip. Unfortunately, they aren't open on Sundays and Mondays. They offer a wide variety of Japanese dishes ranging from grilled fish, soba, udon, -dons (rice bowls) and sushi! Everything at the restaurant looked amazing and we wanted to come back to try their sushi but unfortunately they were closed on Monday. We ordered the udon and mackerel both of which were exceptional. Their miso soup was very good too and you can tell they made it themselves instead of using an instant packet. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for good Japanese food.

I was never disappointed by any dish and also discovered quite a few recipes from Japanese cuisine which became my favorites over the classical maki and nigiris. Quality of components is premium, food has personality and service is quiet and efficient. Only weakness is that the atmosphere is bit sad for an exotic restaurant at that price range. I was recommended this place by a Japanese gourmet and I do thank him for the tip !

I looked up, almost to cross the street and to change my direction, and the name of this cafe beckoned me. I read this book in high school, so I knew it was going to be a place of excellence. The food is top-tier, bread with crunchy crust, pastrami that isn't sour (though it could use more herb crust), Japanese pickles that are crunchy (they're still a bit briny), and a nice mild mustard (though there was way too much on the sandwich). They have oatmilk and soy milk for those who love alternative milks. The espresso isn't too sour, but it was a bit bitter. The place is 95% clean (crumbs on the floor, booths, and seats) but the 3h I sat here, all 3 staff members were cleaning; so that's nice. Lastly, the staff were neither impatient with me (coming over to ask me 3 times if I needed something but I shoo'd them away each time) nor did they rush me out the door. If you want a nice and quiet place where you can breathe, think, reflect, and not be bothered, come here! You won't be disappointed.

They brought out a nice cafe latte with a yummy chocolate chip cookie. We also received bread with several flavors of butter and a shrimp in sweet potato spread. These unexpected appetizers were delicious! The meal was also so good and a nice size. The overall decor was lovely and relaxing. We highly recommend this place!

We came in on Christmas Eve and a good number of businesses close entirely through Christmas or…read morehave very limited hours. Luckily we found Takumi and were able to get a table. They have a very large menu but I opted for a Miso Ramen bowl. It was really big, super hot (temperature), and tasty. It definitely hit the spot because the ambient temperature was 27 degrees Fahrenheit! There was a wind chill also which really made things worse. Anyway, this rarely happens but I couldn't finish my bowl. Partly because it was a large portion but honestly I wasn't feeling100%. The broth was slightly salty (as compared to the Shoyu broth) and it was rich. They put in a raw egg into the broth and added a generous amount of fatty pork. On an ordinary day, the richness wouldn't have bothered me and I would have eaten 90% or more of the bowl. I focused on eating the veggies (bean sprouts and bok choy), the ramen itself, and only some of the pork. Service was ok. We had a party of six and the couldn't/wouldn't combine tables so we sat apart. It's a small restaurant so getting their attention was easy.

Noodles were perfectly al dente and soups were hot. Loved the fact they gave generous amount of toppings (we are so used to a tiny bit of toppings at many places in the U.S.). We left with full anf happy tummies. The service was great, too.
