One thing we really enjoyed was the flexibility to go at our own pace, or even split up and make it a friendly competition within our group. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

They were extremely knowledgeable, not only sharing facts about each type of animal, but also telling us about the individual animals themselves - their personalities, stories, and little quirks. We were lucky enough to feed so many animals, including monkeys, lemurs, hyenas, a rhino, and tortoises. We even got to interact with some of them, including a baby gibbon, sea otters, monkeys, and kangaroos. This was an experience I'll never forget, and I'm extremely grateful to the zoo and the team for making it such a special day. If you're coming to Broken Bow / Hochatown / Oklahoma - or honestly, anywhere within reasonable distance of planet Earth - you need to visit Beavers Bend Safari Park at least once.

The walk through small animal exhibit has come a long was since I visited years ago. The entire area is well maintained and the animals seem happy and healthy! One of the hyenas we're limping though and we let management know so hopefully they were able to follow up. The otter experience was really disappointing. It's $40pp, 2 person minimum... so $80. We had twenty minutes to hang out with the two otters on the property, but our time was shared with another couple. The otters were really tired and we were told they had done four meets already, and they had several in line next. By the end of our experience, they were both asleep under the bench. The guide said they usually have a system, but she wasn't sure what happened to it. It seemed like they were getting a bit money hungry and forcing as many experiences as they can which sucks for both the guest and the animals. It really cheapens the very experience outing. I hope the owners are able to put some attention to the matter. They had other animals/experiences we would've chosen had we known the situation. I also thought we would be learning about the otters and we were just seated in the enclosure to play with them with every little interaction or communication from staff. If you pay for a premium experience, you would expect one. The drive through was really well thought out and enjoyable. I love that the animals seemed well cared for and respected! We would definitely come back, but likely wouldn't invest in the more expensive experiences.

Here, it was about $85 (plus tip for the guides) for a 45-minute experience with six zip lines total, which felt like a great value for finally checking this off the bucket list. From the start, the staff set the tone. Bree handled our check-in and could not have been sweeter. They must go out of their way to hire great people because every single person we interacted with was incredibly nice and welcoming. Our actual zip-line guides were Quincy and Audrey, and they were fantastic. Super friendly, clearly experienced, and calm, which was exactly what I needed as a nervous first-timer. The zip-lining itself is kind of a blur--it went by fast--but the last line was the standout, soaring a bit over the lake. I'm glad I finally did it. Not sure I need to do it again, but I have zero regrets. One tip: go in the morning before the heat kicks in. There is a little bit of hiking between lines, and in that afternoon sun, it felt like a sauna in a helmet. Still, a fun adventure and a great memory. The group size they limit it to is about 10, so no real wait time between lines.

Several of the contraptions did not work and some of the locks did not work or were not part of the puzzle but were not labeled. It was frustrating not being able to find where to start and the puzzles did not flow, leading you to the next task. The staff were patient and helpful but I felt bad that they had to come help so much leaving the front lobby often empty! We would not waste our $$$ again!

As we chug along the engineer throws corn out the side. I guess they have been doing this forever because tons of deer come right up to the train tracks as soon as they hear the train whistle. We probably saw 30 deer, including lots of babies. They literally come right up to the train, almost within touching distance. The engineer was super nice and good with the kids. The little train is open so try to go when it's not hot. He even hit the gas hard as we were going down a hill to give us a little speed. They also have horse trail rides, pony rides, and some food. Things are a little overpriced so we only ride the train but it was fun. Also, bathrooms are a little bit of a walk down the road. The train ride is about 15 minutes, which is a fine amount of time for what it is. I would recommend giving it a try if you are in town.
