I have never had such a bad experience than with MINNCOs merger with Cities Credit Union. Debit card was invalid and routing number was wrong local bank could not get it to work, Nothing like standing in line at checkout at grocery store and card invalid. Most embarrassing not once but twice not due to funds just the card. Customer service was not at all helpful . leave messages but no return calls. After 30 days I'm moving my accounts just a horrible experience. read more

the workers are ok but the banking app is actual trash. you can't transfer or pay your credit card with an external account. you can add it and use their stupid plaid account thing and it still won't work. it will show your external accounts but it will never let you transfer. also you can't use auto pay with external accounts. I used this credit the other day as part of my shared branch. Very welcoming and took care of me. The branch manager is awesome, creates great energy in the lobby and his interactions with customers. Don't listen to these lame 1 star reviews and their hurt feelings. read more

If I could give it a negative number I would. We are in our 70's (Cambridge,MN) and someone, (I believe it was an inside job), stole all of our money (life time savings/checking pension/SS of our savings and checking accts. We are educated with several degress between the 2 of us. We lead responsible lives in our community. This was wrong and not morally right. We have banked here for 4 yrs. or so. Some of these credit union workers were dishonest and never told the truth about any info that they had about who did this. My husband and myself made a police report and filled out all the paperwork which was not given to us right away but 2 weeks later. they never gave us any paperwork regarding this issue. They had no compassion and were not sensitive to our feelings Its was ALL business! We have been good bank customers since we were 16 yrs. old and never had a problem with any bank/credit union in our lives and have an excellent credit score of 800, but without warning they closed our accounts and forced us to go elsewhere. I had already paid bills thru billpay and now those creditors have not been paid since without notice they locked our accounts and sent us on our way. They did not want us as customers any longer. I almost fainted and had a stroke when they called me to tell me I was locked out of our accounts and can no longer have a checking account with them. I have had a heart transplant, a terminal disease and past cancer I can reject my heart under severe stress. My husband has moderate dementia and is in 2 stage heart failure. These credit union people are have mental issues they are not normal, they are without feelings and have trust issues they need to see a therapist and must all be under 50 and must have been raised as self centered brats and are very selfish. They made this decision without even talking with us, we have never been dishonest or have done anything illegal and are good upstanding Judeo/Christian people in this community. If I was not a Christian women with Judeo/Christian values I would tell them the truth of what I really think of them. What comes around goes around. There will come a day when they will remember their "sins" and regret what they did to us as elders and will know in their hearts how mean and nasty they were by turning our lives upside down with all the paperwork and phone calls and changes and foot work with no one to help us and being sick and not healthy. These are deranged people who did this to us. Never in 4 yrs. did anyone call me by my name. Shame on all of YOU! Not one of you advocated for us the innocent. Shame on all of you! This is not sour grapes this is real and it happened to real humans who have feelings. I'm a social worker and family therapist and know this smells with lots of red flags about the credit union. They ended up giving our money back but told us we needed to be thankful because it was a lot of money for them to part with. When they waited on us for this problem of stolen funds they acted like they were doing us a favor and we didn't deserve them helping us or deserve our money back. They were extremely insensitive and rude and arrogant this was the manager of the bank. Thank God that another credit union saw their mistake and gave us accounts in our town of Cambridge, MN. Shame on Minnco and the men and manager who did not help us but cause many tears and heartache. read more

I am a co-signer on a loan with my daughter here. They do have better rates, so that's a positive. We have no other accounts with them. Minnco REALLY needs a better system for speaking with a banker. I've had to visit there 3 times in the past week to deal with getting an insurance check signed over to me. You can't schedule an appointment, so you go sit and take your chances with how long it will be. There's no sign-in system, which means I had to stand in line to inform a teller I needed to speak to a banker. Then you sit and wait with other customers with no idea of who got their first. On one of my visits, I waited an HOUR and finally gave up and asked the teller if she could help with my issue. She called someone and came back and gave me the wrong information that contradicted what someone else had told me. Basically they were going to keep our insurance check because my daughter still has an outstanding loan, even though we repaired the car and had proof we had paid for repairs. Also someone else had told me earlier they would sign the check over to the repair shop. So this would have left me out over 2K since I paid the repair shop. Of course I was livid! Finally got it straightened out today but I am really not impressed with how they treat customers. read more

They are by far the worst financial institution I've ever worked with. they don't honor civil court documents and your divorce papers mean nothing. They will penalize you for ex spouse debt no problem even when it wasn't acquired by you. messed up my checks multiple times in all the years I worked with them. They also were hacked once and I lost like 80$ on that. To close my ex's account they charged me $400 of extra fees for him being late. read more

Banked elsewhere for 20 years, give or take. I have never been late with bills. I KNOW how to budget my $$. However, this credit unions bill pay system has robbed our family out of $28 fees over and over!!! When I go into bill pay to pay a bill, I EXPECT my bill to be paid on time, with MY money. However, with minnco, ALL of my bills don't receive anything until 10 days LATE!!! Then!!! This messes up our checking account because minnco will show us the bill pay went out so we THINK we are fine to eat, or what not. Seeing clearly we have PLENTY for food or whatever, the bill pay check comes back saying we dont have $$!! Uh, yes we DO! oh no. Minnco took 28, 28, 28, 28 dollars over and over and robbed us almost $200 in one breath!! Fine print people. Minnco LIED to us and ASSURED us that when we go through bill pay, our bills get paid THAT DAY!!! So, if we seen the $$ removed from our account, we expected OUR BILL TO BE PAID!! You KNOW! I complained, as well as my husband but we are exhausted, being scared to trust their stupid bill pay service and if we REALLY have $$ for food or if minnco will ROB us yet ... again. My family have banked here for about two years now, when we were looking for a nearby bank at which we could open accounts for our kids. We have been impressed with the first name basis the staff have come to know us by, and have grown to love the service they provide. We transferred all our accounts here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a 'small bank' that treats you personally - other banks say they are personal, but Minnco truly are. read more
