I would never give my business to Minnco Credit union. Here is what they did to us. I will continue to give them bad reviews the rest of my life. We in our mid 70's now had been banking there for 5 yrs. Never a problem did we have. Close to home 1/2 block and the women were very frinedly and it felt like home. One yr ago, I looked on line to balance our checking account and all of our money was GONE! Our SAVINGS and our CHECKING money was gone. I was in shock. Immediately I called the toll free number to tell them to shut down our accounts and tell them abvot what happened. Our payday was going to be that night. The fellow in "florida" said they can't do that. So I had to wait until Monday to go in person. I told them we wanted to press charges when they find out who stole our money, we had in our accounts was about 7,000.00. The woman working with us told us it was one of their own customers. They had a name and showed us on the computer. After this one time of filling out paperwork for new accounts, they treated us like we were criminals and would not talk to us again. They closed the account they had opened after the robbery. They closed our charge account so we could no longer charge even tho we were up to date and never had a late payment. We owed the charge about 3,500.00. They were mean and nasty to us and would not tell us if they caught the person or why they treated us so inappropriate for the coming weeks after this happened. It was very traumatic for us. When a person has a bank account closed by the back they can no longer get a checking or savings acc. anywhere. In our 70's with no children to help us. I spen days and days crying and not knowing what to do. I did call our frined who goes to our church, who is an attorney. He said we could sue them. At that time after the credit union telling us they didn't know if they would give us our money back, they had some big shot tell us OK we will give you the money that was stolen. We don't have a lot of money ourselves but you are lucky to get it. Robberys of accounts are not insured. So after over one week we did find a credit union who listened to our story and opened new accounts for us. Shame on Minnco! They need to be closed down for what they did and how they treated us. I did hear from our attorney that Minnco has has many complaints of how customers were treated after the new manager took over. The new manager my guess is under 50 and is selfish, self centered and has no moral values. He would not meet with us. So I wrote about a 12 page letter to the president of MINNCO telling him how he should be ashamed of himself and how I could have sued them/him but decided not to as I care take my husband who had front temporal dementia and I have had a heart transplant and we are not healthy. I gave him a piece of my mind and tole him off politely. shame on Minnco. They are nasty, mean, selfish, self centered, greedy, immoral and a poor excuse for a human being. I hope they go backrupt after buildkng a multi million dollar new building, this is why they said they had no money to pay us back what was stolen by one of there own from our accounts.
