Looks like they've completed the renovations around the lake area. There is a new bridge in the middle of the lake, as well as new pedestrian walkways over the water. They've also added several park benches and lounge chairs. It's a vast improvement. Definitely recommend checking it out. The trees are almost high enough to cover most of the surrounding condo towers. One can almost forget they're in the middle of a bustling city. read more

This is such a nice little oasis right in the middle of Richmond. I came over because I was nearby for lunch and saw green space on the map, but did not expect the park here to be so scenic and peaceful! I found it to be a great place for a long meditative walk as there as lots of paths you can take around the lake and through wooded areas. There are lots of benches by the lake for relaxing or more secluded picnic tables throughout the park. It's sprawling enough that you could probably spend an hour just exploring the different pathways. Well worth going out of your way to check it out. read more

I was traveling for work and happened upon this lovely park that was near my hotel. I must say I was extremely impressed. This park is large. I walked around for a couple of hours to enjoy everything this spacious park had to offer. The shrubbery and water features were diverse. Everything was well manicured so every inch of this lovely area was perfection. There were signs with rules and directions that helps keep everything looking beautiful. There was no litter and any other signs of misuse. It's been a while since I visited Minoru Park and I'm still thinking about it. read more

On our first trip to Vancouver, my wife and I discovered this park, thanks to a Travel Advisor list. We were so enthralled with everything we saw there, we visited 2 days in a row! So. Many. Bunnies. So. Many. Ducks. I loved the plants and trees in the park and the squirrels in this area are a different variety than the grey squirrels we see in Sacramento. There's a lawn bowling court, so be sure to bring your equipment! The park is next to a municipal sports field, I believe. read more

Day time OK. Night time not too bad! So came here to catch Pokemon and to have a good stroll at the park. The walk was not bad. We got to see some cute fat chubby bunnies. Guess they are well fed here. At first, I thought we came to a track and field or soccer field. But what it really is there are plenty of parking at the library and you just walk right to the park. It has a pretty big lake. If it wasn't for S who bought me there, I would have never guess that this place actually existed. New York has Central Park. Vancouver has Stanley Park. Richmond has Minoru Park. There is a rich history to Minoru Parks past. Today it is vibrant, green and full of life. Little rabbits bounce around hippity hopping from tree to shrub. People jogging around the pathways. There is the little chapel. Where I got married once. So romantic..... The jogging track where I have to get my butt back there and get rid of some fat. Yes and there is also a tennis club and some other developments that are currently being built. I hope it looks nice and doesn't take away from the nature..... Let's hope that the city continues to preserve this for the townsfolk. It is a much needed place for diversity, community rejuvination and relaxation. If you're in town, take a stroll around the park. You'll feel refreshed. read more

Minoru Park in Richmond, BC, is a gorgeous little oasis in an otherwise-urban centre. Located by the Richmond Hospital, this picturesque spot boasts an impressive number of amenities for young and old alike, including athletic facilities (basketball and tennis courts, sports fields, ball diamonds, a paved pathway circuit, running oval, bowling green, cricket pitch, and more), a kids' playground, plenty of picnic tables and benches for sitting and relaxing, and a serene pond filled with fish and waterfowl. The first thing that hit us when we entered Minoru Park was the scent of lilacs -- beautiful annual and perennial floral displays bloom year-round throughout the park, in particular by the historic Minoru Chapel, which looks like something out of a storybook. The flowers and grassy areas also provide plenty of bites and nibbles for the park's resident rabbit population, which is a real hit with visitors. Though we didn't spend much time on the athletic side of the park, my friend Katie, her son Connor, and I spent about an hour strolling around the lake, looking at the birds (but obeying the signs and not feeding them), and taking close-up shots of the bunnies. It was a great way to spend my lunch hour (and a good excuse to be outside in the sun), and seemed to really stimulate Connor, who, at six months of age, is curious about everything, in particular animals. read more

I grew up in Richmond and I have a lot of memories at Minoru Park. It's where all our high school football games were held at. My friends and I walked across the park to get to and from school, rain or shine!! It has a beautiful little chapel and garden area that's nice to jog or walk around. The community center is where I learned all my ice skating and swim lessons and we always worked out at the gym. Such a nice recreational space. I live in New York and there's nothing like it here where you can have both inside recreational activities as well as nature. read more

Peaceful walking zone. A hidden gem in the middle of downtown Richmond. Not huge but a nice sport for a picnic. Lots of people take pictures here or feed the animals. Very pretty in spring. read more

I don't know what kind of sick f--- of a person would abandon their pet rabbit and let them fend for themselves but since they're there now that's the highlight of this park. Forget the annoying boring ducks the psychotic geese the bunnies is all I care about and the best part of the park. It wasn't too long before I spotted an adorable baby bunny doing a binky in the garden. Later on we found two black bunnies with a white spotted nose I nicknamed Sniffles. Adorable and curious little guy, he even came out and sniffed me from the side. The park itself is better than queen elizabeth and central park combined because it's nicer and because bunnies rule! read more

I was really impressed with this little park. It was shaded in certain parts, with well maintained shrubs, and flowers were in full bloom when I visited. It was early in the morning and there were already so many people out and about the park. We did a short run and it was very pleasant, but watch out for geese poop. read more

Probably Richmond's version of Stanley Park, well, in terms of size. Good place to wind down after dinner, or when I come here for a run at the track early in the morning, not too many people compared to early evening. Park's nice and all, just lacks any defining tree/shubbery like SP, and layout's is just like a box haha. With the summer hours, it does tend to still be busy by 9pm, though after that, it's smooth sailing. They've got lights here so pretty safe. Big parking lot too. read more

This pretty park is off the tourist trail, but close to the hotel where I stayed. A lovely mix of grass, trees and a lake. There's also areas for sports, including a running track. And a very scenic white painted clapper board chapel complete with steeple. Lovely place for a stroll. The prettiest areas are at the North end. The park is actually on the site of a race track, and named after a race horse. It was also used as an airstrip, with many 'first ever' flights taking off and/or landing here, including first flight west of Winipeg, first parachute jump in Canada, first flight over the Rockies, etc Today the park also holds an aquatics centre and the Minoru Arenas, skating rinks used for ice hockey. read more

What a beautiful, peaceful park in the middle of an urban area. After walking to shopping and dining venues in Richmond, we wanted a little nature break and found Minoru Park. This beautiful little park has comfortable paths around ponds, beautiful well manicured landscape features, and plenty of benches to sit and find your zen. I had heard about the rabbits in this park so I was curious to find them, but had no luck. I was however amazed by the squirrels which were big, furry, black squirrels quite different from the little grey ones we have in the southeast U.S. There were plenty of geese too, while pretty to watch, create a bit of a mess to walk your step when crossing their paths. I would love to have a such a little park with lovely gardens in the middle of my own city. read more

The park is beautiful but be sure to empty your bladders before taking a stroll. The man's and woman's public washrooms at the far northeast end of the park are permanently occupied by homeless folks and the city is unable to deal with the issue. The issue had been brought up by the media to the city a few years ago (2010) and the problem still persists. read more
