We went to Mint to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday party, and as it's more than 2 hours away on the bus from Enniskillen (taking into account a number of alcohol fuelled stops)I was hoping that it was worth the journey.
When we arrived the place was absolutely packed, which is always a sign of a good place. The interior of this place is absolutely brilliant, with everything being so modern and new.
The best thing about Mint is that it has three different floors each with a different atmosphere. The bottom floor is has got the feel of a traditional bar, almost like somewhere you'd go after work for a few sociable's. The second floor is what I like to call the "dancey part", this where all the young ones show off their new moves as featured by Justin Beiber.
Finally the third floor is the laid back part, it's a lot smaller than the other two floors but has a cocktail bar and chill out area. This is where the not so young ones go when their feet are sore and they want a bit of space from the dance floor.
However, if anyone has come up from the country to Cookstown before, they will probably know the bad part of this story. When it comes to closing time, everybody is literally chucked out onto the streets which results in argy-bargy, thrown chips and a lot of fighting.
When we left here there was police everywhere who kind of put a dampener on your night but other than this, it's a great spot. read more
