This nightclub is a relative newbie to the Northern Ireland entertainment scene. It opened its doors in December 2009 and has been a huge success ever since, especially over the Summer with all of the returning students and the little ones having finished their GCSEs and thinking they have "earned" a night out. No you haven't. All you have earned is a slap of the face and some extra homework.
After hearing incredible things about the "High Five Mondays" we decided that we just had to go and check this place out. Bus booked, alcohol not on board (but on board) we left for the magic city of Cookstown. For those of you who are unware, Cookstown is like the Las Vegas of Northern Ireland... Kind of... Not really unless you squint really hard... Hmm...
When we arrived I was amazed by the sheer size of the place, it had two floors, connecting rooms and a lot of seating area which comes in very useful when you have a girlfriend who insists on wearing shoes she can't walk in but still has to bring because apparently they look nice and match her outfit.
Anyway, though I'm not a 'club' person, the experience was quite good. The lighting and projector screens are some of the best I've seen and with the "text your request" you are guaranteed to get a shout out on the dance floor without having to yell at the DJ for a pen and a notepad.
On Mondays nights drinks are only £2.50 and there is a huge selection to choose from, I was really surprised with this because normally there is a list of five or six when a promotion like this is on.
"High Five Mondays" only runs when the universities and colleges are closed but I hear weekend nights are as good as Monday so I'd definitely recommend this place for a great night's craic. Just bring comfortable shoes. read more
