We went to Mint to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday party, and as it's more than 2 hours away on…read morethe bus from Enniskillen (taking into account a number of alcohol fuelled stops)I was hoping that it was worth the journey. When we arrived the place was absolutely packed, which is always a sign of a good place. The interior of this place is absolutely brilliant, with everything being so modern and new. The best thing about Mint is that it has three different floors each with a different atmosphere. The bottom floor is has got the feel of a traditional bar, almost like somewhere you'd go after work for a few sociable's. The second floor is what I like to call the "dancey part", this where all the young ones show off their new moves as featured by Justin Beiber. Finally the third floor is the laid back part, it's a lot smaller than the other two floors but has a cocktail bar and chill out area. This is where the not so young ones go when their feet are sore and they want a bit of space from the dance floor. However, if anyone has come up from the country to Cookstown before, they will probably know the bad part of this story. When it comes to closing time, everybody is literally chucked out onto the streets which results in argy-bargy, thrown chips and a lot of fighting. When we left here there was police everywhere who kind of put a dampener on your night but other than this, it's a great spot.

Had Sunday lunch with 3 friendsone with a 2 year old child. We had pre-booked which was lucky since…read morethe bar and restaurant were doing very brisk business. We were shown to our table immediately by a very pleasant lady and a high chair was already waiting.First impressions excellent. Said lady returned with menus and a special one which she handed to little madam, who suddenly became lady of the manor! Starters came without undue delay and my creamed vegetable soup gets 11 out of 10 pure velvet. 2 fresh melon starters disappeared silently with just a couple of "mmmms"and the caesar salad was crisp and tangy. Three generous main courses of tender roast beef accompanied by a deliciously mild pepper sauce, creamed potatoes and a vegetable selection were all given the thumbs up as was the chicken dish. The lady of the manor had sausage and creamed potatoes of which only a soupcon of potato remained. After a respectable rest period we ordered dessertsPavlovas being most popular while I had toffee cheesecakecrunchy base with a deep soft toffee centre and topped with a thin crisp chocolate layer. The other desserts came with deep melt in-the-mouth pavlova topped with forest fruits and fresh cream. A little ice-cream was all her ladyship could manage! VerdictI'll be back. Food is excellent and it's a friendly place with busy but helpful people and seems to welcome all ages. If there is a problem it would be that I was tempted to watch the TV screens in the booths opposite which may be off-putting for the diners there. Decor is up-market and building is especially suitable for wheel chairs. Cookstown needed this! Maire Eilis

I shouldn't really do a review based on a drunken night! But I think I had a good night..we had…read moredrinks in the bar at the top of a very steep staircase & then we ended up in a club like place with a dj booth..dance floor & big cave like bed areas. I don't think I'm explaining this right at all. Off the side of the dance floor they have leather bed like seats..anyway this was great for when the dancing feet got sore. Drinks wise I think all I tried was the tequila shots...gooood & then they do Estrella bottles which are v gooood in my eyes!! I must try this spot again soon..don't even know if it's still on the Belfast hot list as this was back in May this year..hope it is though.. I'd like an Estrella, a dance & a wee lay back on them beds!

Love that it is situated over three floors. Although not so sure how good that would be if you were drunk. It can get very busy quickly. If personal space is a issue, then this isn't the place for you. I had to grab into my chair for fear of being absorbed into the dancing mass. The music was great, the bars on each floor are tiny. Had a good night. But too truly finish the review I would need to go back when I'm drinking. Purely for a health and safety, stairs to drink risk you understand.
