I hesitated to write this, but my experience at Mint Dental was so troubling that I feel others should know. I went in for tooth pain. Instead of addressing that, the staff repeatedly asked if I "liked my smile," photographed me, and pushed Invisalign. I kept explaining I was there for pain, but the dentist insisted Invisalign was the only real solution. When I asked questions, she became defensive. I eventually agreed, thinking it couldn't hurt. I was wrong. I'm in my 60s, and the aligners caused burning and swollen gums from day one. I asked if I might be allergic (I have known allergies to plastics), but they dismissed it and kept changing their explanation for the swelling. Later, a dentist I'd never met filed several teeth without having informed me beforehand this would be needed. My insurance initially rejected the claim because he wasn't associated with the office. After they rebilled it under a different name, it went through. Since then, I've had cavities in the teeth he filed and gaps between them that catch food -- something I never had before. They pushed products and add‑ons constantly: throat exercises, electric toothbrushes, and later $500 "necessary" nighttime retainers. I regret buying them as insurance didn't cover them. I used them for a while, but my gum swelling never stopped until I quit wearing the retainers -- and now I have gum recession and exposed gaps between my enamel and my gums - also something I never had before. They also called me every 3-4 months for cleanings, which felt excessive. When I was diagnosed with cancer and had to cancel appointments, I told them not to call and explained why and that I would call them when my treatment allowed. They continued to call relentlessly until I blocked their number. Billing was another nightmare. They charged me the full amount upfront and submitted mismatched numbers to insurance for me to be reimbursed, which caused endless issues with my FSA out of pocket cost reimbursements. I eventually found a new dentist, who confirmed my bite is now off from the Invisalign. He filled the gaps caused by gum recession and advised that only more Invisalign would fix the bite -- something I have no intention of repeating. I'm giving two stars only because the original tooth pain did go away. But the hard sells, questionable billing, and long‑term damage make this a practice I deeply regret choosing. read more

I cannot say enough about the incredible dedication and care at Mini Dental Loft. During a long holiday weekend, our family faced a dental emergency with my dad's dentures. Dr. Han and her husband, Peter, completely came to the rescue--they took our call at 8:00 AM on a Saturday morning and agreed to squeeze us in. Our flight landed at 3:00 PM, and they stayed open just to take our appointment right before their office officially closed for the weekend. When we arrived, they not only fixed the immediate issue but also suggested a comprehensive repair to ensure they would last. They rushed the process and had everything done within 24 hours. It was an immense relief knowing my dad would be able to eat comfortably and that we didn't have to worry about his dentures for the rest of our trip. On top of that, they went above and beyond with their lab connections to ensure the final adjustments were absolutely perfect. Dr. Han and Peter truly treated my parents as if they were their own family, even giving up their own holiday weekend time to open the office for us. We are visiting from San Francisco, but the exceptional care we received here makes us want to come back just for our future dental appointments. Thank you so much again! read more

Double charging insurance and customer, they don't tell you they don't accept insurance till you are there physically! GREEDY. Racking up extreme charges due at time of appointment that no one can easily pay unless wealthy. (ARE YOU FOR REAL?!) I had a real dentist for many years that told me my teeth were strong and at age 50 I've only had one cavity so obviously I will believe that real Dentist over this used car salesman of a dentist that was trying to scare me into thinking I would lose my teeth if I didn't do her stupid Invisalign BS. This place is a gem! Found the Altadena location by looking through Yelp and all the positive reviews are warranted. The office staff are so incredibly sweet and friendly- they always greet me by name and offer amenities while you wait which could be anything from tea to CBD drops to noise canceling headphones- it feels like a spa. For my cleaning they gave me a blanket and there is a TV on the ceiling to distract you which is amazing. I am an anxious dental patient as I have very sensitive teeth and the hygienists were gentle and compassionate and also offered numbing which was a huge help. I've seen Dr. Han multiple times and she is fantastic- she has great bedside manner and took her time answering my many questions and brainstorming solutions for my dental needs. They also offer Ozone treatment here for tooth sensitivity which is a fairly new treatment but let me tell you it freaking works! And if you need one more reason to come here they even have an office therapy dog that will drop in and say hello if you are feeling anxious. They are out of network with all insurances I believe but they will bill your insurance still and I have received reimbursements so far for covered treatments with my PPO ins. read more
