I birthed my first child in a hospital- In short, I didn't like many elements of the hospital experience. From the very first appointment with the midwives, I knew I had made the right decision to go with a homebirth. The attention and person to person caring that I received from these wonderful women was so nurturing and empowering all throughout my pregnancy. It is truly a revelation to be cared for in this way throughout pregnancy/birth/postpartum. You have a TEAM who truly cares about your well-being, who you can text with any little question or concern. I am in my 7th week postpartum and I feel great. I attribute so much of this to the exceptional care I have received over the past 6 weeks! My baby is calm. My body is healed. I don't think this is a coincidence. Then I found Dr. Margie Amos. I left my appointment feeling like I could cry again, but this time they were tears of happiness. I finally had answers and was met with a doctor who was patient, attentive, and never rushed me. She wasn't bothered by my anxiety or my long list of questions. She was thorough, educational, and incredibly kind. I am so grateful I found her and that she took the time to truly get to the bottom of what was going on. She ordered tests that no one else had considered and looked at everything from multiple perspectives. She provided several options for next steps, clearly explained each one, and helped create a game plan we both feel confident about. I truly cannot say enough good things about this doctor.

I arranged my entire life around it, took an extended leave from work, made arrangements for my recovery, and showed up at the hospital on the morning of my scheduled surgery prepared to have the procedure. **The hospital had no record of my surgery.** I was left standing there on the morning of surgery trying to figure out what had happened. I was later told that the person responsible for scheduling at my doctor's office had sent the request to the hospital, but the hospital says they never received it. Apparently, no one from the office ever followed up to confirm that an operating room had actually been reserved. Because of that failure, my surgery did not happen. They then attempted to reschedule me for the following Monday. At that point, the hospital/anesthesiology team required additional medical testing before proceeding. I completely understood the need for the testing and immediately did everything that was asked of me. I have now completed the required testing and have repeatedly called and begged this office to tell me what is happening and get my surgery back on the schedule. **They have essentially stopped responding to me.** The most unbelievable part is that I finally had to get **my insurance company involved just to find out what was happening.** My insurance company contacted the practice and then informed me that the person responsible for scheduling my surgery had gone on vacation and would not return until the 20th. No one from the practice bothered to tell me this. Apparently, after their original scheduling error caused me to show up at a hospital for a surgery that wasn't actually on the hospital's schedule, my case was simply allowed to sit while the person handling it went on vacation--with seemingly no one else taking responsibility for getting my surgery scheduled. I have been calling. I have been leaving messages. I have explained repeatedly that I am already off work and losing income. I have pleaded for someone to call me back. At this point, I don't even have enough time left in my leave to reasonably schedule the surgery and recover before I am supposed to return to work. This isn't a missed haircut or a dinner reservation. **This is surgery.** Patients arrange their jobs, finances, transportation, family support, recovery care, and their entire lives around a surgical date. There is absolutely no excuse for a medical practice to allow a patient to arrive at a hospital for surgery without confirming that the surgery was actually scheduled--and then, after causing that disruption, fail to communicate with the patient while the situation becomes progressively worse. What has been most upsetting is not simply that a mistake happened. People make mistakes. It is the **complete lack of urgency, accountability, communication, and effort to fix the mistake afterward.** I trusted this practice with my medical care. Instead, I have been left chasing them for answers while losing income and watching the window I set aside for a medically necessary procedure disappear. I am posting this because prospective patients deserve to know how this office handled my surgical care when something went wrong. I am still waiting for someone from this practice to take responsibility, call me, and tell me how they intend to get my surgery scheduled.

Ambrosia was my doula for my daughters birth in 2022. And I don't know what I did right in my life…read moreto deserve her but my goodness is she an angel. Ambrosia was a relatively new friend before she became my doula, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I felt comfortable enough calling her and asking her to meet me and explain what to do next. At the time I had no idea what a doula was, the difference between doctors and midwives, even just what the first steps after finding out you're pregnant are. All I knew was that she was involved in the birth space and that she made me feel comfortable enough to call her and ask her all this stuff. She was so sweet from the beginning, and made me feel truly supported no matter what I decided throughout the whole pregnancy. She even encouraged me to interview other doulas so I felt secure in my decision to hire her. She took time to answer any questions I had throughout the pregnancy, and spent time with my husband educating us on what would happen during labor and birth. She always had a chill, relaxed attitude which saved me because I was stressed about knowing everything and making every single decision. She made me feel like everything was okay at all times. She gave me a lot of peace. I can't express how supported she made me feel in my choices. I was interested in a fully natural, unmedicated birth (that terrified my husband and mom and mother-in-law, everyone really). But she encouraged me to listen to my heart, to really listen to what I wanted, and made me feel like I could do it if I wanted to. And that was hard because I am such a people pleaser. Long story short, I was supposed to get induced (which scared me so much, but again-- she let me know I didn't HAVE to do anything if I didn't want to and if I chose to get induced, I could own that as my choice). I went to the hospital to start the induction and didn't end up needing to because my labor started spontaneously (so that was a little miracle). She was in constant contact with me, checking in on how I was doing, if I was eating/drinking/moving/resting. And then she showed up at the hospital and I swear the energy in the room shifted. She had a lot of experience in the hospital I was giving birth and she walked around like she knew where everything was. She moved me into positions that helped give me comfort that I would have never thought to do on my own. She pulled out a stool for me to sit on from the hospital closet that even the nurses didn't know was there. She helped my husband know exactly what to do (ie "now is a good time to go hold her" versus "maybe let's take a step back and let her be"). I swear she helped preserve our marriage that day because I left thinking my husband was perfectly what I needed during that entire experience. Ambrosia knew my birth preferences and as soon as someone asked something that didn't fit them-- she would look at me to say what I needed-- often a "NO" or "okay" and then she would fully back me up on that. The biggest thing that stands out to me was i felt my body start pushing, I was on my hands and knees on the floor and the nurse wanted to check my dilation and she wanted me to lay down. At that point in my labor I would rather die than lay down. So ambrosia kind of negotiated with the nurse who ended up checking my on my hands and knees on the bed. (SURPRISE I was fully dilated with baby's bead right there and the doctor was at least 15 mins away). Even when everyone started panicking and running around trying to get ready for baby to arrive, she was near my calming me saying it was all going to be okay, that there is an on-call doctor, that everything is happening as it should. Everything happened so fast and the baby arrived quickly. When I was pushing baby out was the only time I got a little scared, and again, Ambrosia was there talking me through it, calming me down, coaching my husband (AND taking videos and pictures). It was such a relief that I had as able to deliver how I wanted -- unmedicated, on my hands and knees (even though the hospital staff did not love that), and all in 6 hours). I could go on and on and on about how incredible Ambrosia was, but then this would be a novel. If you're thinking about hiring her, DO IT. I recommend her to everyone I know. I am going to fly her out to me to be my midwife if I have another baby. She is an angel and she has the most incredible energy and she is so knowledgeable. She gave me such confidence in myself by simply telling me to look within. I love her and I will have such wonderful memories of my first birth largely because of her. Thank you thank you Ambrosia for doing your work and being so good at it. Love you!!

My first two were delivered at a birth center near Denver, which we loved. However, after our experience with Seasons we found that it was an even better experience. The front desk staff has always been so welcoming in person and on the phone. Each of the midwives is not only highly skilled, but they are so wonderful when I come in with my two other kiddos (at the time 2 and 4 years old). They allow them to help with the doppler ultrasound, blood pressure, etc. As a parent, this is so wonderful, especially because they would look forward to the baby appointments so they could help and it made them even more excited for their baby! Each session I felt like I had so much time with the midwives to ask whatever questions I wanted and even though this was my third baby, I had a lot of extra curiosity questions due to my line of work. My birth could not have been more peaceful and calming due to my birth team. I not only had my husband and my doula, who they welcomed with open arms, but I had our amazing midwife Aubre (who delivered our first baby at the other birth center), a student midwife, and a wonderful nurse. The entire team made me feel so supported, empowered, and confident. The room felt so comforting by its design, it's warmth, and perfect lighting that together made for me to feel so comfortable. I had made birth plans and goals with my birth team, which my main one was to prevent tearing if possible. I had tearing with my first two births and made a plan with my midwives and doula as to my birthing position and warm compress to help reduce my risk of tearing this time around. Aubre did a great job of supporting my perineum with warm compress and reminding me of the birthing position and I didn't tear this time, which was a game changer in my healing. The team took my vitals and checked baby's heart rate when necessary and only checked my cervix once to see where I was at, but only after I was completely settled into the room. After the birth, I felt like a queen! The team at Seasons took such good care of me! The nurse checked in on us, but left us to sleep and bond. She kept bringing us food and set me up with a wonderful bath (set me up with shampoo, sope, robe... the works). My postpartum hours spent at Seasons I will remember forever. I felt so supported and cared for. My baby was cuddling on my husband's chest, the light was dim, I had a full stomach and I was relaxing in a warm bath reflecting on my amazing birth. If you are considering a birth center, this is the place to be. The entire team from the front desk to the midwives to the nurses and the facility itself are the best around. Being in the birth world, I know a lot about the hospitals and other birth centers and this one is absolutely the best. I look forward to watching their continued growth and support in the community! Thank you Seasons and my birth team for the amazing birth you helped me achieve!

The other midwife would not test me, even though the test was a simple blood test. I expressed my concerns to Janet and she ordered a test for me without question, even though she disagreed with me on the relevance of the mutation to pregnancy. Janet listened and eased my fears and walked me through everything I could need to know about how home births usually play out. I had told her that the birth of my son had been traumatic both physically and mentally, and she took that into consideration to make sure that both my mind and my body were cared for during labor. She took all measures necessary to make sure I did not feel violated during this labor as I had with my son. I called Janet to my house once my contractions were close together and unignorable. When she got there, my contractions came erratically and far apart. She stayed for a few hours to see if they would pick back up, and they didn't. She said "I don't think you're in labor." I said, "That's not possible." And she said, "Okay. I'll stay." It is so refreshing to have a medical professional take you seriously and BELIEVE you when you tell her about your own body. About twelve hours of erratic contractions later, Janet informed me that she thought my waters were preventing the baby from dropping down, and asked me whether it would be okay to break my waters. After a few questions, I agreed. She broke my waters and immediately I felt I had to push. Three pushes later I had my baby in my arms. Throughout the intensity of that time, Janet was there encouraging me and making sure I knew I could do it. Thanks in part to her care, I can say that that day is the most proud I've ever been of myself and I am empowered knowing that I'm capable of that degree of strength.

She knows her stuff, but her 35+ years of experience leave her stuck in her ways. I utilized the Hypnobabies program during my pregnancy and birth, and I always felt like Janet did an internal eye roll anytime I mentioned it. When telling her my preferences for my birth plan, I was basically told how SHE does things and that nearly all of my choices were "wrong." So why did I continue to work with her? To put it simply, she was the only CNM in the state that did home births. Everyone else spoke so highly of her, I never understood the hype. What's worse is that the birth of my daughter took a sharp left turn, and I ultimately had to get a c-section. The level of empathy and follow-up from Janet was subpar at best...and for the hefty bill we paid for her, my dollars could've easily been better spent elsewhere. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression shortly after my daughter's birth. Janet couldn't seem to care less, and all I felt was judgment for wanting to quit breastfeeding. To get an idea for her lack of empathy, just see the attached image of the last text I ever sent to her. It was 6 weeks after my daughter's birth, and she NEVER followed up to see how I was doing or how I was handling the postpartum depression. The last I spoke to her on the phone was to collect our credit card for the final bill. By the time I was due for my 6-week postpartum check up her bill was already paid...so why bother, right?
