My daughter shows up and they say, sorry don't take your insurance, you need to pay out of pocket. They tell her she needs to make a claim on her own with the insurance. Our insurance says we can make the claim but needs x, y, and z info. We reached out to Velocity Care for the additional info by email. 6 weeks later still no response. I called the customer care to inquire if they took our insurance or not and they refused to answer my question because I was not the primal patient. It's a general question not specifically related to a person. What sort of scam are they running at this place? Or is the office staff completely nonsensical?

I have never been talked down to like that in my life. Horrible. Not to mention she prescribed me the entirely wrong antibiotic that will be useless against my problem. I waited 2 entire hours for what I am certain to be the wrong prescription, and when I merely raised my concern, she chewed me out. Truly felt as though she was more focused on trying to feel like she knew what she was talking about rather than actually doing her job and helping her patient.

While I've had positive visits in the past, my last visit was disappointing. The reason for…read morerequested diagnostics were not fully explained and there was no mention of billing so that I could make an informed decision. I should have read the forms more carefully, but it would be helpful for the physician and technicians to go over them verbally. I was told later that there was no way to no what the cost would be. However, I was given a bill promptly after the diagnostics with an amount. In other practices, such as optometrists, a full rundown of costs are given before you purchase an item. It isn't difficult. So, I find it unconvincing that a routine test and standard insurance deductibles could not be estimated beforehand. Another issue I encountered at this office during several visits was the display of a bible -- once in an exam room and later in the waiting room. I was told that patients sometimes leave items. But there was no indication that they intended to do anything about it. I find it hard to believe people randomly leave items in exam rooms without them being noticed and removed. I think it's important to create a neutral and welcoming environment for all patients, not just a select group. So, Lewis Gale Physicians apparently are either proselytizing or pandering. Neither is useful in a medical practice. I will likely be looking for an alternative that treats all patients respectfully, discloses costs, and communicates more effectively.

When I walked in I was instantly greeted with a huge smile from the lady at the front desk. I was taken back soon after signing in. Every single person I met was absolutely wonderful, welcoming, kind, and very easy to talk to. When talking with Amber Neal I instantly felt comfortable and I felt like I was in very good hands with this office. I have never had such an excellent experience and I am very grateful to now have such a supportive and kind family physician. I would and have already recommended this office to every single person I know in the area. If I could give this office 10 stars, I would.

I called them and was told, essentially, "He'll get to it eventually." I had to call twice to be told "it's not diverticulitis but beyond that we don't know what the doctor wants to do. He'll call you when he has time." In the meantime, I've been in relatively bad pain for 3 weeks. No pain medicine. No urgency with figuring out what's wrong. No active responses.

Belton and Beato have done an outstanding job at helping me manage complex medical issues ranging from heart failure to cancer. I have always counted on them to solve my medical issues or point me in the right direction with a qualified referral. Even today, I received a prompt follow-up phone call from Dr Belton's nurse regarding a series of lab results. While the results were not what I was hoping to hear, I know exactly what I need to do. All of this was made possible because the Front Office worked to get me in the same day I called, as well as the Lab Techs. knowing exactly what tests needed to be done. Any concern I bring to her she takes seriously and investigates further which makes me feel better as a patient that I have someone who is on my side and that doesn't dismiss my concerns. She helped manage my type 1 diabetes and her (and her amazing nurse) I have always been able to get in easy contact with and they've gotten back to me so quickly. Unfortunately, Nicole has since left the practice and I miss her dearly, however Maggie Belton has been amazing as well. The front office staff is kind and always willing to help. There's a reason as to why I keep going here even after graduating from VT and relocating to Roanoke.
