We sat there an additional 45 minutes. When they called for my mom I just went in the same room with her. Our test came back one flu one covid. The doctor answered a phone call while being in the room with us. She also asked me about my other health issue and then went into her husband health issues with the same thing as mine for about 15 minutes. Which was reassuring and fine but not for 15 minutes. At the end of the visit she didn't prescribed me anything for the flu because she believed I was at the end of it. The next day I woke up and decided to get an at home test because I didn't believe that I had the flu. I actually tested positive for Covid also went to my regular doctor and I tested positive for Covid there. Moral of the story is that it was very unprofessional that the doctor answered a phone call in the middle of my visit and I got the wrong test results. I haven't ever had another issues at this urgent care. Just this recent time. It's hit or miss with what doctor you get. This doctor I even had to explain medical terminology to.

AFC had a large, clean waiting room and online check-in.  The exam room was also large, with enough room for the patient, a parent, and the medical staff.  The medical assistant who greeted us was kind and gentle with my daughter.  The PA, Alexa Klapach, was knowledgeable and actually listened to my daughter's symptoms and to my concerns. After being told to "wait and see" by City MD, Alexa confirmed what we already knew--that my daughter had an infection and needed antibiotics. We will definitely be going to AFC Denville for our urgent care needs.  It is clean and has a kind and knowledgeable staff--which is exactly what a patient needs when they are unwell.

Pro's * You do not wait in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes - ever. * Typically if you need to see the Dr quickly, you can get a same day appointment. * Dr Collum spends considerable time with you, and appears genuinely interested in understanding why you're there. * Dr Collum explains in great detail why he orders tests, and what they are while further explaining what he believes the diagnosis to be (lab/diagnostic tests he ordered are to substantiate that diagnosis). * Dr Collum is rather dead pan, but not devoid of emotion. He comes off as a sincere, caring doctor who is there to help you be well. Both near and long term. Con's * I have not been a patient of his longer than I have been.

No nonsense approach with good perspective- sorting out what is important from what isn't. I'm especially impressed at the time he takes during the annual physical to ask about my health and then to listen to the answer- as a result, he identified and diagnosed my celiac disease, the discovery of which was truly life-changing for me. The only non-positive is that the office is solid but less stellar- perhaps a typical busy dr.'s office in which the patient doesn't entirely feel like a customer. They also have a technician on premises so blood tests can be administered without having to travel to a separate lab.

I called the office to ask about the change and after an almost 25 min wait, the PA explained the change but forgot about medicine B. My son was also in that office earlier that day and I asked why she prescribed the same antibiotic that her just been on (since doctors have told me they don't recommend that.) The PA immediately got defensive and rude. Instead of explaining the decision they said "bc of his allergy there aren't many options!" I understand this but I just wanted to understand their decision. If I don't advocate for my kid who will? The PA's answers got really short and curt after that. Next time I go I'll call ahead and make sure that PA isn't there. Also, the young man upfront was talking so low, couldn't hear him, he obviously didn't want to help anyone and would rather continue playing on his phone.

Even though some staff were super nice and friendly and the place was super clean, I still wouldn't recommend this place. I walked in at about 1:30 and was taken into the room at 2 ( not too bad with timing). Then I waited such a longg time for the dr. To just examine me and run out the room... left me there very confused with no kind of help once so ever. The dr also recommended me to a surgeon and happened to be the wrong surgeon... later that day I had to go to another place and got the care I needed! Overall the place was clean and some staff were friendly, but the dr. That was seeing me was completely unprofessional, misdiagnosed me & just simply was trying to rush...

No surprise that she gets a lot of the walk-ins because you wouldn't willfully make an appointment with her. Big holes in her appointment calendar. She gave me a physical, told me I had a serious condition, then picked up her phone for a 5 minute personal chat. She ushered me out of the door without ever again mentioning my condition, the seriousness, or recommending a course of action, which is nearly always surgical intervention. Unacceptable. Banu will never get near me again. The rest of the medical staff has been wonderful.

First, here is what I learned: Consensus Health is a New Jersey medical organization with dozens of 'practices' across New Jersey. Two such practices in the Denville/Rockaway area are the 'Skylands Medical groups'. The Skyland Medical Group I sought care from operates as the 'Denville Associates of Internal Medicine.' My experience with this Consensus Health organization focused on gross over-billing for an office visit. This resulted in a time-consuming appeals process, an admission by the organization of a billing mistake, and a partial reduction in the revised bill I received, a new bill which partially addressed their billing mistake. This failure to take adequate responsibility for their mistake and to (in my firm opinion) focus on corporate profit reminded me of the unfair, unethical practices of United Health Care, the largest Health Insurance provider in the U. S. To maximize profit for the a simple office visit I requested, the bill was modified to include a service that was not requested by me and (in my opinion) not provided and not covered by either my Medicare or Anthem Blue Cross insurance. Rather than spend effort on another time-consuming appeals process, I paid the bill before it was sent to their 'collections department'. NOTE: Sometimes a business responds to a critical review by providing a one-sided response with no opportunity for the reviewer to respond. If I feel I'm further mistreated I'll make the effort to respond in more detail, with copies of documents, a voice mail message left on my phone, and more details.

A doctor friend of mine recommended a surgeon to me that works out of the Morris County Surgical Center and after today I don't know if I'd want to go anywhere else. I was the first on the board this morning so I arrived at 6:30am to a smiling and friendly nurse/receptionist who was very helpful. I was brought to the back where I was taken care of by Elaine, who was very caring and kept me at ease (her British accent was calming). As more people started coming in and milling about I realized that these nurses were awesome and cared about making me feel confident. When I was brought into the ER by my two ER nurses (sorry ladies, I simply cannot remember your names) they, and the Anesthesiologist, quickly got me situated and comfortable and were saying good night. The next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room with nurse Laura and Dr. Simon talking to me. I've been under the knife six times now and I have never had a better experience than today. The nurses, the doctors, the recovery room...I felt at ease the whole time, from start to finish. This is the first time I came out of anesthesia without the shakes or feeling nauseous. I can't say enough about how great this went. Now I hope my recovery goes as well.

While I was there, I overheard a nurse make a comment about my glasses, which I found unprofessional and upsetting. I also felt dismissed when the doctor told me, "This is an emergency room, you could have waited to see your regular doctor tomorrow." I came to the ER because I was worried about my condition and wanted to make sure there wasn't a serious issue. My family has also had concerning experiences here. My grandmother, who required close supervision, fell out of bed twice during her stay and lost her teeth. Those incidents greatly affected our confidence in the care being provided. My relative spilled her bedpan as she was trying to put it on the table and was left in a urine soaked gown for over two hours after asking for help. She did not get a clean gown until I was able to get one for her at the nurse's station and I helped her change it. I was then able to get clean sheets and changed the bedding for her. Next she had a raging headache and asked for an ice pack. Three requests and three hours passed. I ended up taking some ice out of her cup and using the plastic the utensils came in to make her a makeshift ice pack for her forehead. I asked where the ice machine was so I could fill a glove with ice and I was told that it was not available to me. They told me I should just ask for an ice pack, and I said we already did three times and three hours ago. The ice pack arrived! The doctors did a good job diagnosing and helping her. My message to the nurses who were scrolling continuously on their phones is, if you don't like the profession and taking care of people when they are down and out, go find yourself a new job. My sister's room mate was also left in her urine for hours as well. Btw even if your patients are sick they need to eat. There was no menu there and she had not eaten in almost 2 days. I searched out the number and told her how to order the food (that she said was vile). At other hospitals if you don't tell them what you want they bring food anyway. Not here they just left her without any! Bottom line, for a hospital, you are a disgrace. I thought the ER at MMH was bad but you St Clare taught me what bad actually is. If I ever have the misfortune to need help, drive me an extra hour to a different hospital, even if my arm is cut off and needs to be reattached. Terrible.
