This minute clinic provides excellent care, I was looking for a clinic that offered Covid-19 antibody testing and this one in Mission Valley offered it. Signing up online for an appt was very easy and the text reminders were very helpful. I arrived 15 min early as suggested and checked in at the kiosk. I was seen by the nurse practitioner 2 min after check-in. She was very friendly and immediately asked how I do with blood. I said not good, so she insisted I lay down when she took the finger prick test. She kept asking how I was doing throughout, but shortly after she finished the test I did end up passing out...out of my control. The nurse attending to me and the nurse in the other room took great care of me as I came too, and had the paramedics already on their way. After that whole episode and a visit to the ER, one of the nurses called me the next day asking about how I was feeling after I left the clinic and hospital yesterday. I was presently surprised they did a follow-up and really appreciated that call. I'm sure I scared them a little, but I felt like I was in good hands throughout my time there. I'll definitely be going again for any quick tests or check-ups I need at this location. read more

WORST PLACE EVER! Zero communication or accountability or respect for people in general. I can only imagine the care quality is worse. I went to be seen for swelling from a possible infection near my eye that seems like it's spreading. I'm currently unemployed and without health insurance so my options are limited as to where I can be seen. The doctor waited until right before she took her hour lunch to tell me I most likely won't be seen today. Mind you I arrived when they opened at 9am and was told I could be seen as a walk in and was first on the waitlist since 9am. Waited over 3 hours just to be told I would not be seen today. She said they normally double book their appointments so I would have only been seen if there were 2 no shows together. I also watched her accept a patient who was over 10minutes late to their appointment. What sense does that make. Hate this place and hate how they run things, like you're better off telling people when they get there to make an appointment elsewhere if you want to be seen. Hope I don't go blind after being turned away and wasting my whole day to the point where there are no other appointments available in the San Diego area. Don't trust this place. read more

Inefficient and poorly managed. I arrived 10 minutes early to my "appointment" which was a TB test result read that should take no more than a minute to process and send me on my way. Instead I was told I had to wait 25-40 minutes. When I pushed back about whether I could be seen sooner because of how quick it was, I was told in a condescending tone that I would not. The NP then started to rattle off what other people ahead of me were waiting for (think that's a HIPAA violation) and rudely asked what I don't get about that. Terrible experience and the lack of tact and common sense by the NP was disappointing. If you make an appointment expect to wait a long time. read more

I asked quite politely how long it would be, she asked if I had an appointment, I said yes and showed her my name, first one on the board. Signed up for Covid vaccine on cvs.com. Got an appointment. Filled out pre-check in online, then again in text link, again at the kiosk and again at the pharmacy!!!! Four times!! I guess my appointment was with minute clinic and they denied my vaccine. I was MAD. Went to complain at pharmacy and somehow they were able to give me the vaccine. I do not know the difference since it was ALL CVS!!! I was told minute clinic is not under the same guidelines or protocol as CVS. WHAT?!!! How did I get put into minute clinic then!!?! This clinic constantly files claims wrong resulting in patients being auto-charged for services which are 100% covered by their insurance providers. This means you spend more time on the phone fixing their mistakes. It's absolutely frustrating. If you're getting a flu shot, covid shot, any shot you know that your insurance covers, do not give the clinic your credit card. They will auto-charge when a claim is filed incorrectly, not waiting for a response when it is filed again (and actually goes through the proper channels) and just charge you. Meanwhile you're stuck with a charge while they figure things out. For some reason, if you're with Sharp - this has happened three times to us. It's better if you don't put a credit card on file, as they are forced to do the right thing and actually go through the proper claim process. You think by now, they would have figured it out, but since the person giving you shots is seemingly a different person each time, it must mean there is no standard of training when it comes to claims submission. read more

If you must go here, don't book any appointments near or around their daily lunch break of 1-2pm. I booked for 2:20 and they were still not back from lunch by 2:30. Had an appt. After being called in 20 minutes late, the lady (who was working by herself for the first time) could not figure out how to input my veterans affairs insurance into the system after an hour. She called and verified I am covered but she refused to exam me, she asked me to step out so she could see other patients because she could not figure out how to put my insurance into the computer. All I needed was someone to look in my ear for 30 seconds and tell me if I have an infection or not. Horrible experience, a complete waste of time. Will be calling and issuing a formal complaint as well. read more

Scheduled an appointment last week to get my son a sports physical. Received numerous confirmation texts & emails. I get there and 10 minutes before the appointment time I receive a link to check in, as expected. We check in and wait. And wait. 15 minutes after our scheduled time I walk over to the pharmacy to ask what is going on and they tell me the clinic is CLOSED because no one showed up to work it. There are also several other people waiting that had appointments. What a waste of time. This was just a sports physical so we can go elsewhere but there was another woman waiting that was distraught. She was ill and had an appt. I felt so bad for her. read more

I have been trying for 2 days to find out if they accept my insurance. 1) Their online tools has a drop down menu with like 100 insurance types. I have Anthem Blue Cross Medicare Preferred. In their drop down menu it has several Blue Cross types, but not mine. 2) They do not have a path to phone contact to the actual MinuteClinic location. 3) They have a path to talk to some one on the phone, and I tried it several times but it is a conard. Each time I had to go through a gauntlet of promps, listen to several minutes of irrelevant information, and in the end wait on hold several more minutes to eventually be disconnected with out talking with someone. Conclusion: 3 strikes and I'm out!! Their customer service is worse then none existent, because if they did not have the Minutclinic web site I would not have wasted sooooo much time with frustration. They should in the website home page in large letters state: "WE DO NOT EVER HAVE CONTACT WITH CUTOMERS , WE TREAT THEM AS CATTLE." read more

Earlier in the morning after I ran a 5k, my hand was accidentally punctured from a shard of glass on the ground. (Don't ask me how.) I immediately went to the first aid tent to get it patched up. They asked me if I've had a tetanus shot in the past 10 years. I hadn't. So they recommended that I get one as soon as possible to avoid infection. After failed attempts to go elsewhere, we decided to take a chance and try Minute Clinic. For some reason, I was not able to make an online appointment, so we had no choice but to go there directly and do it at the kiosk by the clinic itself. It took a little while, but we got my name on the list, which was shown on the screen with estimated wait times. Not only that, they sent an automated text message to give me a 30-minute notification of when I'd be seen. Once I was finally brought in, they worked on treating my wound as well as giving me that needed tetanus shot. They did a good job, and they only charged me the amount of my copay. It left me wondering why the other places I tried wouldn't accept my information and payment method. Thank you, Miss Scouras and Mr. DiGrazia! Since my issues weren't too major, I can't speak on how they handle other patients with theirs. For the most part, they try to do what they can to help everybody the best way possible as fast as possible while making sure you feel comfortable. If they can't, perhaps urgent care at a hospital or medical center would be better. FYI: - It won't always be an immediate session, as there will usually be varying wait times. I was lucky enough to get there during their lunch time (1-2pm), so I was the first person they saw when they returned. Otherwise, the wait can potentially be 1-2 hours. Fortunately, that's only an amount of time they recommend to free up, as it doesn't necessarily take that long to be seen. - They have a card transaction machine in the office so that you pay on the spot. - There are 4 chairs just outside for those waiting. read more

I took my son here for what we thought was strep. They did a test on the spot and determined it to be a virus. Fine. Then a few days later my sons ears started bleeding. Went to the doctor and it turned out he had a raging ear infection. According to the doctor it definitely would have shown up when he was at his appt at Minute Clinic had they checked his ears. No excuse to not check ears when you are looking at a possible throat virus or infection. You don't have to be a doctor to know that ears, nose and throat are closely related. I know the people that work at Minute Clinics are PAs and not doctors but they still should know something so basic. This could have been a very bad situation. read more

I was able to be seen in short notice. I registered and only waited 5 min before I was called. The NP asked me some questions And took some electronic notes. She checked all my vitals and prescribed some antibiotics for my cough and congestion. A few days later, I was on my way to complete recovery. For the cost of my copay, I was able to get well which is a lot more than I can say for more $$$$ options. read more

Recently the company I work for required us to get a TB test. I was annoyed because I didn't want to have to make an appointment with my primary care provider, and drive all the way there at a time that would likely be inconvenient. A coworker suggested the CVS Minute Clinic and I decided to give it a shot. It is really nice how you can log in ahead of time to find out the wait time. The first time I logged in , the wait was an hour and a half, so I decided to wait for a better time. The next time I logged in, there was no wait at all. So, I went in for the TB test. I was worried that during my drive, there would be time for a crowd to take their place in front of me, but when I arrived, there was only one person in ahead. My wait was only about 7 minutes. You sign in on a touch screen when you arrive, and are informed of your place in line and your approximate wait time. I was later informed, that you can hold your place in line online, and have a certain amount of time to arrive so that you don't lose your chance while driving there. When I returned to have my TB test checked, I did hold a spot in line. When I arrived this time, I didn't have to wait at all. The clinic uses nurse practitioners, as they are jacks of all trades and can do pretty much anything. The first nurse practitioner I met with was really friendly. The second one was nice enough. The idea of Minute Clinic is a great one. it is nice to have a convenient place for some simple medical procedures rather than having to run to an urgent care or having to schedule an inconvenient appointment. The problem is the cost. It cost $29 to administer the TB test and $35 to check it. I didn't mind, as my company was paying, but that price is pretty ridiculous. Maybe it would be better if you were doing a procedure that insurance covers, but for this reason, I am leery of returning. read more

I made an appointment online to get a flu​ shot. I arrived a few minutes early and entered my code into the check-in​ kiosk. The message "not in database​" appeared. I tried again. Same thing. Eventually,​ the nurse emerged from her office to let a patient out. I told her that I was having trouble signing in. While completing​ the check-in a young man approached her with a question. She spent approximately 10 minutes with him. Afterwards,​ she returned to her office and closed the door. About five minutes later,​ a technician​ invited me into her office. She verified my insurance and began asking medical history questions. During the intake,​​ her phone rang. It was a personal call. A fairly lengthy conversation ensued. She ultimately made an executive decision and the choice was made to pick up food at Panda Express and to get a taco for her son. When the call ended, I informed her that I was already in the system, and sure enough,​ she found me. I bolted down my anger and told her, that I was disappointed​ with the lack of professionalism and that perhaps it might be best if I went to my doctor for the shot. By now 30 minutes had passed. She told me that it didn't bother her because she was a Christian. Ya know, sometime's it's best to let dead dogs lie. Last year I got the shot at my doctor's office and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. CVS corporate may want to consider a name change. Perhaps, "Hold-on and Wait so That We Can Ignore you and Waste as Much of Your Time as Possible Clinic ." Or HOAW (Hold on and Wait.) There ain't nothin' happening at the MinuteClinic in a minute. This clinic provides TB tests, but mine was not done properly. Not only that, they told me I had TB (when I very clearly did not have a TB reaction) during my follow-up appointment. The initial application of the TB shot did not puff up like a pimple as it should have. It was a small red spot, but was never raised and looked the same for the entire 72 hour period. This is how I know it was not applied properly. When going in for the follow-up reading, I was told I had a bump that was 10mm, which meant I was positive for TB. This is really scary to hear and I was very confused because I didn't feel a bump. I believe the technician was measuring my forearm muscle, maybe?, because there was no difference between my left and right forearm. I went into urgent care immediately following and the doctor that I saw agreed that it did NOT look like a positive TB reaction. If the Minute Clinic is going to be administering the TB test, it should know how to apply the test properly AND read it properly instead of scaring people with false positives. read more

Awful customer service. I came in due to an upper respiratory infection. I felt miserable. I checked in at 12:10 pm and was told the wait time was approx. 24 minutes. No problem. 24 minutes go by and the doctor took the person who came about 20 minutes after me and proceeded to tell me that she would be the last patient before their hour long lunch starting at 1 pm. I have great health insurance, but will never go back to this minute clinic. Completely wasted my time because she has horrible time management skills. read more

I was recently seen by NP Amy N. at this location and I couldn't be more pleased with the treatment I received. Amy was kind, caring, and very thorough. She took the time to give me helpful information regarding healthy lifestyle choices and reviewed the best medications for treating my condition. Overall, I received better care from Amy compared to most primary care doctors I've seen. The nurse, Lorinda C., was also very kind, and her compassionate demeanor helps to put her patients at ease. I plan on returning to this clinic and will continue to ask to be seen by Amy. read more

Appalling service. Only concerned about themselves I got there at 6.40pm, 50 minutes before closing time. The computer let me sign in no problems. There were 2 people ahead of me. At 6.50 "Angela" came out and told me that they couldn't see me because she had to leave at 7.30. There were 2 NP's on duty but yet they turned me away when the sign clearly said that signing in would close 20 minutes before closing. I brought this to the attention and she just told me that there was an urgent care down the road. I will never give my business to CVS again. Not even for an aspirin. read more

This place is awful, at 15 minutes until closing I went in there just to pick up my prescription and the bearded light haired doctor just turned me away! I was in serious pain and started to cry so my boyfriend comes up to the counter and questions him, he literally just didn't want to work the last 15 minutes of his shift. This cva sucks. Horrible service. Couldn't make an appointment on the Kiosk for my condition and when I asked the doctor she just told me to wait. When more people kept making a line I just made an appointment for any symptom that would let me go all the way through. When I was called in I explained what happened and the doctor raised her voice and told me I shouldn't have done that because she wouldn't be able to leave on time. The lady who saw me coaxed me into getting the prescription filled at the pharmacy because it would be faster vs Costco where I normally have prescriptions filled. 30 minutes layer, my prescription is not filled and I'm having to start the process elsewhere. I made several appointments online to take care of some vaccinations that I needed for a military move abroad--in short, no issues, pleasant (doctors? nurses?), and injections as pleasant as injections get. They were very kind about printing out proofs of vaccinations and also marking on my WHO card. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes past the time I was scheduled, although each time (3 total) I went I noticed someone struggling at the kiosk, so I may have just gotten lucky. read more

I made an appointment online that scheduled me for 1:05, so I came in for a simple flu shot and the nurse practitioner as well as the LVN were both very rude to me along with 2 other people waiting. They said that the system accidentally allowed people to make appointments during their lunch break and they wouldn't see anyone between 1-2pm. They kept saying it wasn't their fault and didn't care one bit that we all drove all the way over because we had a CONFIRMED appointment and they refused to honor that. I understand mistakes happen, but the way they handled this situation was very unprofessional and rude. I cancelled my appointment and won't ever come back to this minute clinic. read more

I waited all day-nearly 5 hours for my appointment, only to go in and find they don't have the equipment to help me. My appointment consisted of writing down the address of an urgent care for me, of course which does not take appointments, so I could go there and sit there the rest of the day. Of course, why not? Nobody respects your time here. Conveniently this is all in the Sharp Healthcare system, which shows exactly why they don't mind wasting your day and health just so they can shove you into the places they'll get more money out of you. If they make you wait long enough, maybe you'll just break down and go to the ER, which is the only way you matter to them, and even then you'll still wait 8 hours when in excruciating pain. I'll never go here again. They need to list accurate services on their website. read more

If 0 stars were an option they'd get it. Few mos. ago, I came in here for tx of an eye infection. The kiosk wasn't working & when I asked for assistance the NP was snotty & said "it should be simple enough to work, just follow the directions" Ah, hell naw! 3 deep breaths. . . I then explained that the computer was not working period. She huffed & marched over with a "I'll do it." She then announced "the computers down again, have a seat". I should of left but I needed my pink eye treated. 10 mins later, she comes for me & tried a half- assed apology when she sees my occupation. Excuse me but everyone deserves respect not just people with advanced degrees. I leave with eye drops (which didn't do jack & I ended up going to my primary Dr 2 day's later for the correct rx). Fast forward to today when my friend called for a ride here bc she thinks she has strep & her employer offers this as an after hours urgent clinic. She looked online & verifies that they're open until 5:30. No problem - I get her there by 5:05 only to see a sign on the infamous kiosk computer that they will not be seeing any more patients that day. I spot a white coat & sure enough it's the NP from before. "Excuse me but my friend would like to be seen. Your website indicated that you're open until 5:30". She responds, "no, sorry, we stop taking pts at 5 bc it takes 30 mins to do an exam." WTF. I ended up taking my friend over to Urgent Care & More where she was greeted warmly & saw a MD within 10 mins of arrival & left with meds to treat her strep. Stay away from this place! read more

I set up an appointment online 2 days before, showed up 15 minutes early, but it was still first come first serve and a 37 minute wait. I don't understand what the point of the appointment system is or I would have planned things a lot differently. I asked for a typhoid vaccine for travel and the practitioner said it was not available. This location was listed on the MinuteClinic website as providing typhoid vaccines. I even called the headquarters (which was not easy to reach) beforehand to confirm. The headquarters also confirmed that they charge for a consultation fee, which is also not stated on the website. Then, I received an email after I left that my appointment had been canceled, which left me unable to fill out the survey at the end of the appointment, which is why I'm writing this review. Overall I felt like my time was disrespected. The website is not accurate and the company itself seems to not want to be reached. I will never recommend MinuteClinic for a vaccine. Not worth the trouble. read more
