Initially my interaction with Minuteman Press was great, they answered my questions and seemed like they were a great option. I sent my files over for a trifold I made for my grandparents celebration of life as well as an obituary insert. I asked for a test copy to be printed so that I could make sure it printed correctly. No one responded to my emails about coming in to see the copy, so I called and was told it had been ready for me. When I went in to check it over I noticed the insert had been printed wrong so we talked about how it needed to be corrected and he said he would do that, and I sent over a corrected file. I was told it would be ready the day before I had to leave but had to call a few times before I could get an answer as to whether the order was ready or not. I had to send my husband to pick up the order right before we left town for the funeral. When we checked them, the inserts had been printed wrong, and over 50% of my trifold prints were bent on the inner fold in 1-2 places. I had asked that the insert not be glossy, but they were printed on glossy paper. Since they were late in printing and we had to leave town, I couldn't reprint them before the funeral. When I got home, I called a few times and left messages asking to talk with someone about this issue. Three different employees took my name and number and assured me that either the person who had worked with me for printing or the manager would return my call. I never received a call back. I am incredibly unhappy with my experience and won't be using Minuteman Press ever again and I will make sure anyone who asks hears an honest review. I am very forgiving and I wasn't just trying to get a refund, I wanted to give feedback and let them know that I was disappointed with the product provided as this was an important event for my family in honoring our dearly loved parents/grandparents. I have had printing done by Print and Copy for ten years. Once in awhile I stray and try another printer, but I end up coming back to them because the quality of their work in always impeccable. Ill give them a star just for the fact they have recycled paper available and decent prices for that paper. I came to this shop as a new customer because of the good reviews... I had one color print made as a sample...had to basically beg them for it. I then decided to put in an order of color prints to pick up in 3 days. They took a $15 deposit. When I returned for the prints, they looked ehh... not so good. Very dark contrasted and actually blurry! They did not seem bothered by this... and said this is just how it was! They claim to calibrate the machines each morning, but that doesn't answer why a high res image is blurry... Never seen that, and Ive had these images printed at shops across the USA and Canada. But this quality was unacceptable for any color print.. Sorry but some people need colors printed not just letter heads... But regardless, I thought to myself well maybe the quality customer service and recycled paper will be worth the not so good color print? Not so much! When I questioned David about the $15 dollar deposit being put towards my total .. He made this comment how thats "barely any money'' and then rudely commented " that our conversation wasn't even worth that $15 dollars in his time " . well Excuse me? Obviously this guy has no respect for the worth of a dollar.. and our 5 min conversation..... I highly doubt he's being paid $180 an hour. Also, our 5 min conversation was about placing an order that was over $100 dollars! Wish I had worked with someone else there to put in my order, maybe it would of been 'worth the time ' The trainee Jake, actually seemed helpful... I researched print shops in Bellingham and decided to give Print & Copy Factory a try because there was a woman who worked there that was part of the Women's Professional Network. By the time I was ready for my print job she left and I worked with a fellow named Richard who was the new hire. I was hesitant about the change but needed to get going on my project. To my pleasant surprise, Richard was phenomenal! He provided excellent customer service for my job which was to have a banner printed, brochures and business cards for my business. I had a deadline for an expo and he worked with me during the design process expertly, accurately, and with a fine eye for detail as to how my designs would appear on the final product. He was right on all of his advice and paid attention to my deadline. We went back and forth for two weeks sometimes speaking and emailing 3-4 times daily during those two weeks. He was always available, professional and the factory did an excellent printing job. I was extremely pleased with my marketing package and the service. I'd use them again and refer them highly.
