The actual communication was minimal -- only a few email responses and two Zoom meetings -- yet I was billed for multiple hours of so-called "strategy" work. At no point did I receive any real report, written strategy, or meaningful work product showing what had supposedly been done. It felt like I was being billed for work that was never clearly explained or demonstrated. After I terminated the relationship, it still took the firm over two months to return the unused portion of the retainer. They eventually refunded $8,600, which means they kept $6,400 despite providing very limited service.
