DJ initially kept me updated with this backordered part. Three weeks later DJ texted me saying the part would be in on Wednesday and he would be out to finish the repair on Saturday. I never heard from DJ again, completely ghosted me. I called another spa service and they came out the next day (a Thursday), diagnosed the leak (DJ's diagnosis was WRONG) and returned the following Monday and completed the repair. Would have done it on initial diagnosis, but had to get part from shop. For 3 weeks, I had a spa that was partially torn apart (I allowed this because DJ was going to return to complete repair in one week) and then wasn't even given the courtesy of telling me what was going on. I stayed home all day on the Saturday, but DJ never showed, called, or sent me a text. What I find weird is that all of our correspondence was cordial, so I'm not sure why I was just ghosted. I went through RNW pools for a pool repair project as a new homeowner. The pool I own is about 15…read moreyears old and looks like it was never drained or tiles cleaned of mineral buildup.. I'm sure we all know just how bad the water is out here in AZ, so you can imagine how unappealing my pool looked after years of neglect. Josh, the owner, was very responsive when I asked for a quote and came out I think the next day after I messaged him to look at my pool in person. He measured out the linear feet of my pool, answered questions I had about pool maintenance, and gave me a fair quote for the services I needed, based off pool size. I ended up getting my pool drained, tiles bead blasted, 5 loose tiles glued back on, gaps in the grout caulked, and starter chemicals added to my pool once it was filled with water. Josh even came by and vacuumed up the debris left in my pool from the days after poolwork. For the grout work, RNW subcontracted another pool company to come in to handle that task, and to be honest, I was not happy with the quality that pool company provided. But when I reached out to RNW about the subcontractor issue, Josh immediately made it right. He had been taking care of pool maintenance himself but this summer the pool wouldn't get clear and stayed green. My son has had bad experiences with contractors so he didn't want to hire anyone. Being an avid yelper I asked him if I could find a pool company to go out and I'd pay for it if the results were not successful. Well, great news! The results were successful so I don't need to cover it :) My son was happy to pay for quality assistance. He thinks he can now handle cleaning for the winter, after getting some advice from the tech. And we will hire Clear as Crystal to do the maintenance next Summer. I really appreciate the willingness to come out, fix the issue, and explain it to my son so he can learn. He is a young man and these experiences are important. Especially as a fairly new home owner and landlord. They charged a reasonable fee and didn't pressure him to sign up for regular service, although like I said, we probably will- at least for the warmer months.
