FUTURE CLIENTS BEWARE!!!!!! So you know the saying you get what you pay for... In this case I over paid. I saw the number on a banner on Fordham Rd. I needed to get my wig installed and couldn't make it to my schedule appt in Jamaica, Queens. Unfortunately I didn't get to see these reviews before going.... SEE PHOTOS I should have ran the minute she asked me for a nice review before even doing my hair. I brought my own wig I'm from Oregon we do not have access to the services available our here for wig customization unfortunately. This lady booked me for 4/5 2pm wasn't there initially charged me 150 then switched it to 200 to make it "unmoveable". Please do not think I'm exaggerating but she slathered on the wig glue on to my hairline, my natural hair just for the cap? Then she slathers on my to my forehead for the wig attachment not in layers but layer after layer no cure time in between. I spent an hr drying this glue and it's still wet today 4/6 literally.... She put the wig on crooked I have parts the are crumpled up on the hairline that I had to cut smh. This is the worst wig application I have ever had in my life. I can do better and I should have just gotten my hair braided down and done what I know. For 200 she sewed down the back So I can wear it as a pony tail with a fucked up hairline lmfao lol. That costed 50 dollars extra. You can tell she does coke she went through he mood swing as soon as I was showing her I was concerned with the hair (see photos) she kept making up excuses that the glue needs to dry. Hell its not even dry now, the problem was that she did my install mad rushed, reckless and messy. She kept grinding her teeth and taking breaks to do unrelated things like she could not focus on the job. I left she got so annoyed with the fact I was not liking my hair line I got super upset after the attitude she gave me about it. I paid and just left I knew I was gonna waste time I left the wrap on my head for 5 hours before taking it off. Glue was still wet and turned white lol exactly what she said her glue doesn't do lol All I'm saying is that if I lose hair I'm suing. You cannot be this much of a scoundrel. She better pray I can take this down with any bald spots. UPDATE: This install did not last the side where lifting and it was pulling my hair way back. The sad part is that she didn't even wanna tell me how to take this down she wanted me to call her lucky this wasn't my first wig. However I have never had anyone nor myself put wig glue into my natural hair. I went ahead and used 91% alcohol on a headband and let it sit for a few minutes. Once it started to lift I kept adding more to gently remove the wig off my hairline. I then used a solvent to remove the glue from my hair I had so much that that I had to do this 3 times total. It is unsafe to leave solvents to sit on the hair for long periods of time. I will proceed to remove whatever is left with doing oil treatments but let my mistake be a lesson to everyone! This is a frontal done today March 11th, 2017. First and foremost professionalism is key and this establishment has ZERO. My appointment was set for 9:30am the stylist did not arrive until 12:45pm. I have also posted a picture of this "STYLIST'S" shotty craftsmanship. For someone that claims to have to been doing hair for 22 years, the lack of all around respect for me, my time, and my money was not at all her concern as long as she was paid. To get started, I have fibromyalgia and I had an accident where I hurt my coccyx and right hand. I booked an appt for Monday, 4th. On Sunday it snowed and if anyone that has fibromyalgia, you know your body gets worse when it's really cold. I decided to take a muscle relaxant on Sunday night because my body was tense and hurting. Unfortunately, I overslept and missed my 11:30 appt. on Monday. As soon as I woke up on Monday, I callled to apologize and ask if they would reschedule me. I called at 1:34 (phone records can confirm) apologizing profusely and hoping they'll see me the next day. I was told to come in the next day at 12::00pm. Today, Tuesday 5th, I arrived for my 12:00pm appt at 11:30. The location was not open. I called the number and told them I'm already at the location and I'm just waiting for them. The woman replied that she'll be there shortly. I continued to wait, since I was early. At 12:00pm, no one was there. I called the number again and was told she'll be there shortly. 12:40, no one was there, I called back and she started screaming at me saying she was waiting for me for 4 hours (only 2 actually) yesterday and didn't show up because I overslept. She said she didn't have to give me another appt but she did because she wanted to do my hair. She even told me she had a client coming in at 1:pm, so she had to be there and she's about 15 mins away. My phone died after that but i waited. Asked someone the time and he said it was 1:15. At this point, I realized she give me this appointment for revenge. She had no intention of seeing me but wanted me to wait for her as long as possible. At this point, my tailbone was hurting like crazy from standing so long. I popped a Naproxen and limped to get a cab to take me home. I never expected such unprofessionalism from this person who's suppose to be running a business. She could have just said no to a new appt and I would have understand. It's my fault, I now know to sticked to my hairdresser in Manhattan. I hope she was satisfied with her petty revenge and no money in her pocket. read more

First things first -- I paid $300 for a partial leave-out two bundle weave (NOT counting the cost of hair). I have no idea why this is called $50 Weave Salon. Worst thing first -- I have a bald patch in the front now because Jewels braided too tight. I'm so pissed at myself that I didn't listen to the other reviewers who also lost hair. Not only that, but my tracks REALLY stuck out (not enough leave-out), were uneven, and quickly started coming undone in certain places. Jewels hid my tracks with tons of back combing and hairspray after my weave. Once I was home, I felt ridiculous when I had time to really look at it (I looked like Miss America). When I tried to fix it into a natural straightened look, I had the awful realization that so little of my real hair had been left out that it looked like I had little horns sticking out of my head. I ran back to Jewels the next day so she could fix it, but Jewels told me my tracks were sticking out was because I wasn't back-combing and spraying my partial leave-out properly. I told her I didn't want huge hair, so she eventually agreed to cut out a few layers of weave. This helped it not look SO ridiculous, but too much of my hair had been braided in and not enough left out, so the tracks were impossible to hide. The tracks on the back of my head looked especially obvious because the hair left out was too thin to cover them. After about two weeks of feeling ugly, I went to another salon to have my 50 Weave completely ripped out and re-done (Sew Brooklyn, who did an INCREDIBLE job and charged much less btw). I lost some of my hair and lost $300 at 50 Weave. Because it's cash only, which I didn't know until the end, there's no way to get my money back (unless Jewels is reading this and admits her mistake? Maybe she will -- she's a strong, smart woman). Really sad I even had to write this review because I enjoyed Jewels company and I wish her the best. PS: To respond to Jewels comment below, when I went in to have her fix the tracks, I also told her that my braids were so tight that I got a huge migraine the night before. Omg! Im so lucky, I have found the master of hair weaving. This Woman is a true goddess as well as a hair specialist. Came in thinking i was going to need a lace frontal, possibly a 360 lace frontal but Jewel advised me of what was best for my head shape, color of hair and length. Even set me up at the beauty supply so the store knew and helped greatly with my hair purchase just cause she directed them in every step. So I went here after seeing all these good reviews. Place is fine. However the braiser braided my hair waaaaay too tight. Not just a little tight, I mean hair loss tight, and that's just what happened. I now have sores on my scalp, my hair was pulled out where the braids were, and the hair on the back of my head is almost entirely gone. I only had it in for about 5 days total. My edges are incredibly messed up. And when I called to explain that my scalp was essentially bleeding, All was suggested was to come in and loosen the braids, as if that would fix the situation. i ended up just taking it out because it hurt too bad. Basically if you care about your natural hair, I wouldn't come here, or if you do, make them braid loosely because the work itself was good, just way to tight braids to give anyone. read more

My Frontal was pretty when she installed it but it only lasted a little over a week before my hairline was BURNING.. I took my hair out and I had a rash from the excessive amount of glue she used.. I ended up paying $700.00 for the wig, install, color ok but guess what, I ended up with seroius bald spots on the front of my hair, I didn't get the lace front I asked for. She plastered the glue all the way across the front of my hair. Yes she put a stocking cap on n braided my hair but she put the glue on the stocking cap all the way across my own hair she ended up pulling out all my baby hair n then some.. I now have to wear scarves n head bands until my hair grows back. Rather than go back a THIRD time to get it fixed, I looked for another weave salon near my job and Miracle came up. I am so glad I found this place! Truth be told, the hair I had in was colored poorly and put in poorly, AKA it looked like a disaster. Barbara washed my hair, did some clarifying vinegar conditioning, and rebraided my hair. Not to mention, the entire way, she was asking if I was comfortable and making sure it wasn't too tight/painful. I visited this salon bc I heard such rave reviews about Jewel the stylist. Yes she was very friendly and arrived on time for my 12 pm appt and completed my full weave with closure in 2hrs!!!! She was very fast and efficient. However it is extremely hard to find parking, after driving around for 20 min I ended up parking in a garage. I loved how she measured the tracks on my head before inserting the track . I went here to get my weave sewn in right before my trip because I was pressed for time first off and it cheap when I called we set a time to meet at her place of business when I got there she wasn't there is had to call her and she told me she was on her way now when I called to find out price and time I let her know I had my own hair and I want a full head sew in no hair left out and I asked did I need to bring anything no was her answer when she got there she said she would have to do an invisible part so I need to go and buy a weaving net did that she proceeded to start my hair while on the phone have a conversation anyway to make along story short 4 braids weave net hair sewn in and you could still see my hair in the supposed invisible part and I'm not even sure if she used all 3 packs of hair I bought I got my hair done Tuesday went on my trip Thursday and my tracks was lose and come out by friday and she charged 100 instead of 50 so technically I got got because I had to try and and sew and pin down my hair on the trip next time I still make time to do my hair the right way read more

I got my hair done about two weeks ago, you can read my previous review. Now I have about 5 tracks coming out. There hair was already thin and now it's worse And no it's not lack of hair care I know how to not pull my tracks out. The front of my head hurt for a whole week. The over the phone price I was told when making an appointment was twice the amount in person and the hair chosen was also way more than I wanted. I was skeptical because I know absolutely NOTHING, NADA, about hair weave and when people know that they try and WILL take advantage of you I turned to weave because my daughters hair became so damaged from washing and blowing from Dom. Hair Salons and then AF. braids. Between the both of them her hair became horribly damaged and fell out. I came to Jewel and she PERSONALLY walked us through the ENTIRE process.
