I'm so glad I found this place! I felt like getting my nails done after work last Saturday and I walk by this place almost every day I work. So I decided to stop in and I'm happy to say I've found my new place. I believe the girl who did my nails was Stephanie. She was sooo sweet, very nice conversation and I was so happy with the way she did my nails. I just got a regular manicure and she did a great job. I'll be going to her from now on! I saw they did hair too and I've been needing a cut for a while (it's been almost 2 years). My hair was so long and blah. I hate getting my haircut and I usually freak out because they always cut shorter than usual. I'm not sure the name of the man who did my hair (dressed all in black, Asian, I think he runs the place maybe). He was AMAZING! I didn't cut much off but he made me very comfortable and asked before cutting to make sure I was ok with length and whatnot. He angled the front of my hair beautifully. Today, I accompanied my bf to get his haircut. He's been coming here for 5 years and loves getting his haircuts with Siwoo, the owner. As he was getting his haircut, my bf asked me if I would like to get my hair trimmed since I was long overdue for one. I was a bit hesitant. I assumed Siwoo only cut men's hair but boy was I wrong. He did such an amazing job! He took his time to wash, cut off all the dead ends along with face framing/layering, and blow drying my hair. He truly has a gift! My previous hairstylists would have charged me 3X the amount Siwoo charged me for his services today. I will definitely be going back. A joke. Spent almost an hour in the chair when all I asked for was to soak off my gel manicure. Nail tech was super aggressive using a drill to the point where he hurt me several times and split one of my nails. Charged $20 to remove the gel, and file my nails? I did a walk in on Friday after work to get my nails done for my birthday. Worst decision I could have made in my life. Cost me $80 and me with my dumb ass gave tip which was included in the above. I kid you not, my nails were falling off starting on Tuesday. Today is Friday and I only have 1 nail on one hand n three on the other hand. I got gel acrylic tips. I tried Siwoo twice and I won't go back. The first time I got a powder gel manicure ($30). I was pleased with how it came out, but after a few days I noticed all of my nails were cracking and after about a week, the entire manicure was coming off in pieces. Extremely disappointing as a powder gel should last for at least 2 weeks. The second time I got a regular gel manicure ($25). The manicure wasn't done well. First time customer. Decided to get a shellac manicure as a walk in and it was the worst manicure I've ever received in my life. She was rough filing my nails down and cutting my cuticles. That should have been a sign. The shellac was so uneven and not smooth at all. But I think I was so much in shock at how bad the result was I couldn't find my voice to say something before leaving. However, after repeatedly looking at my nails and feeling embarrassed at people even looking at it I decided to call the two phone numbers in their website. Neither worked. I emailed them requesting if a refund was possible while saying the women can keep her tip. I got a text instead saying to come back in 1 week to get it fixed. I didn't even reply because why would you even suggest me coming back if the outcome was terrible in the first place? Plus making an unsatisfied customer wait 1 week is not acceptable. I went to another nail salon further down to get it fixed. I learned my lesson. Always read reviews and do your research first! At least i only lost $25 and not more. read more

This place is clean, has friendly staff. The nail tech who did my nails' name is Danielle. Very kind and sweet and was very open to what I wanted to have done. I personally think she did a great job. i would give this place just one star if it were possible, i wasted so much time here. the guy that did my nails was terrible and i question if he's ever done anyone's nails before. he didn't let the base coat or regular two coats dry. i went for a pale nude shade and so i expected three event coats, instead i got a sloppy mess. and wen he was filing my nails he nicked my finger tip (see photo attached). then wen he applied the top coat after not letting the polish dry, the polish started moving with the top coat. i had to explain to him that the color was uneven due to the fact that he was literally rushing through it and giving it 5 secs to dry! he was ridiculous. he removed some polish and did the same thing again. not letting the coats dry in between at the end i just asked him to take all the polish off and i paid him 10$. he wasted my time. read more

Got a great hair cut and keratin treatment by Siwoo for the first time! I set up an appointment the day before and was able to come in on a Saturday morning. I showed Siwoo a photo of the haircut I wanted and he was great about double checking the length with me before he started. He really took his time to give me a precise haircut. Not every hair salon is great at working with thick Asian hair so I'm super happy I found this salon. The price was also very reasonable considering how close the salon is to Austin Street. I sat down in the chair and she started removing the gel I had on my toes, she finished and started filing. When I looked at my toes I asked if she can make them square (as they were) she got annoyed and she filed once more and said it was square, I showed her my big toe was round and she got annoyed and threw her hands on her lap. I told her to please just remove the gel and Id go. She told me no and kept filing, I told her Id rather leave if she was going to be annoyed doing my toes ( I want to be around good energy). She kept going when I looked at my toes I started crying! Ive never been the person to ask to have something corrected because of my anxiety but my toes were soooooooooo bad. My toe nails are crooked, curved and soo ugly. I cant believe how nasty she was and the fact she thought it was okay. They butchered my hair when I came here to get it dyed a year back. I asked for peekaboo style pink hair, and they dyed it completely uneven and charged me $160 for it. Being a young adult I was too scared to complain at the time but I regret ever going to this salon. Honestly, I wanted to give this nail salon 4 stars because I enjoyed my gel powder manicure up until the last few minutes. As I was discussing maintenance and what the plan was for going forward, I was explaining that I had powder manicures quite often last year leading up to my wedding and then took a months-long break from them. As I was explaining this, my manicurist Dama motioned for me to be quieter. I asked if I was being too loud--and I have never been told in my life that I was speaking too loudly--and she replied that "the owner didn't like it." I don't know who owns this salon, but I can't support a business that has a policy that their customers can't speak freely to their manicurists. I'm not sure whether I'll be back for this reason. I have been going to this salon when it was under different owners... at least 20 years. For that reason I am giving it 2 stars because I've had so many positive experiences. However, the new owner is just unprofessional. I was waiting for more than 30 minutes for a pre-scheduled appointment without any notification or apology. The kicker was when I saw a barber upstairs with his mask under his nose. There was also a sign in sheet and a thermometer but no one checked my temperature. It is obvious that they are not taking Covid precautions seriously. I left and went somewhere else for my haircut. read more

if i could give this a 0 i would do it in a heart beat, this salon absolutely botched my friends acrylic and natural nails. The acrylic nails were like mountains and there was acrylic on her skin and she kept telling me her fingers were burning. The Man who did her nails, presumably the owner was extremely rude & completely filed her skin off on one finger. We at that point just wanted to pay and leave. we spent 30 minutes trying to find a different salon to remove the acrylic. My friend should not have gone through this much pain. I got a haircut a few months ago and it was pretty okay. The stylist was attentive and listened to everything I said. The price they charged me was a little steep though for the cut they gave me. All the stylist did was washed my hair and trimmed my ends to be even, and it came out to around 90$. I also decided to get my nails done here as well, but the nail technician was very pushy for me to try a bunch of more expensive and additional services. I wanted to do acrylic but she had told me that "acrylic is for black people" and that it wasn't healthy for my nails and the "smell was bad" so she couldn't recommend it. Hearing this comment was already a big red flag for me. Altogether, the acrylic tips and gel manicure came out to be around 100$, which is an outrageous price. The nail job was not so great either, with color missing on the sides and uneven nail lengths. I went back to my old nail salon where I can get the same service (and better) for around 30% of the prices they charged here. My old nail salon also had a very difficult time taking off the acrylic nails done at Siwoo Salon which never happens to me (I've done acrylic before a bunch of times). I'm sorry to say this but I cannot recommend this salon to anyone. Please save your money and your time. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I went to Siwoo just to have my toe nails cut. My usual Mani/Pedi woman broke her shoulder and would out of commission for several months. The woman at Siwoo immediately started to cut my nails without any soaking to soften them up. She then immediately took a hunk of skin off one on my toes and did not realize it until I said my toe was hurting. She stopped the bleeding, soaked my feet, did some exfoliation and I was out in 20 minutes. I will never go back here again. You are forewarned! read more

I don't think I can come back here. I do powder manicures and I've come here a few times when I haven't been able to make it to my regular place, but have been fairly disasatisfied. My most recent manicure is beyond the pale. I don't know if they are using the wrong products, not doing enough layers or what but within a day my nails were already cracking and chipping. The dip nails I had done elsewhere and had soaked off were three weeks of wear without a single chip so I don't know how there can be such a different reaction. I suppose my nails could have something to do with it but I only have had this issue here and I wear dip powder pretty consistently. I went back the next day and they redid them for $5 which is the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Another day later and it's just as bad and now weirdly discolored after I showered. I'm so frustrated because I'm heading out of town and don't have time to go elsewhere. Such a waste! read more

Avoid this place at all cost!! Don't waste your money with these so called "nail technicians" when you could for sure do a better job on your own. The service here is absolutely terrible and the workers there make you all feel unwelcome like they don't want you there. The guy, who is the owner of the place, is so rude, arrogant and unprofessional, and he doesn't have the technique at all. This man needs to have his manicure service permit revoke because he does nails worse than a five year old. He doesn't have undergone any training at all the way he does his job. Beware of his unprofessional, arrogant attitude. The pedicure I got here looks like the worst I have gotten in my life. My nails ended up chipping the day after and the gel they use here looks fake and cheap. I was horrified by their job and ended up going somewhere else to remove the horrible service and have a real one done with good costumer service. Pretty good experience here. Siwoo actually looked at the picture I showed him and went thru the process of thinning out my very thick and tangled up hair. It's very rare to find someone who listens to what I want and he was able to execute it with time and precision. Not chatty, but that's okay with me.
