I was looking for a black-owned nail salon and found this salon just in time. Now that NY businesses are opening back up a lot of owners are booked ... BOOKT (with a T) and with a little yelp search, I found Beautique. I booked online Thursday and was lucky to get an appointment the next day. The decor is modern. I love their approach to a very clean and sanitized place. Your temperature is taken once you walk in and there's sanitizer throughout the salon. The staff is super kind and friendly. I loved the way my pedicure came out. Definitely 5 stars there but my manicure.. was a nah son for me. It seemed a tad bit sloppy as a few parts of my nail wasn't coated in polish. I found this place on Yelp because I was looking for a Black-owned salon, and wanted to give them a try as they were close enough to home. The women on the phone were super pleasant and knowledgeable, and were able to assist me on pricing and availability for my appointment. The salon is beautiful walking in, with black art adorned throughout. They also had wonderful Valentines Day art, and cake (!!!) so I appreciate how hard they go for celebrating holidays. Now, my manicure. I got a gel mani, which was $25, and my tech was polite and wonderful to speak to. She was able to help me choose a color that matched the reference photo I showed her, and advised on using a matte top coat vs a glossy. Here's why I'm taking a star off: from my experience, it doesn't look like they do intricate nail art (ie: Korean designs, Picasso nails, Mondrian, etc). My tech was very transparent and advised that she wasn't the best at it, which I appreciated. However, when I left the salon, I felt like I could have stayed home and did the design myself. I'll definitely go back if I need just a regular mani/pedi, or something simple like ombré nails. read more

Narcisa spent 2 hours filing my nails to give me this wide shape when I said several times straight, kind of slim, square. It's bulky and not cute at all but I couldn't spend anymore time in the salon. Another 30 minutes for a bad French nail total $80 crazy. First off I want to shout out Sharome and thank you for a wonderful pedicure experience. This place is truly a gem, a beautiful, clean Black-owned salon only a short walk from home. The salon is tastefully and simply decorated , and the the service is top notched. What I received was an hour long full service signature pedicure where the tech was pleasant and very attentive to detail. I was seen within 5 minutes of my arrival for my 12 noon appointment and Sharome helped me choose a polish color which I love. A great experience and I will be returning in two weeks. After being home for months due to the pandemic, I decided to treat myself to a little R & R with a pedicure & my friend suggested this salon that she had went to, so I figured I try it out as well. My appointment was in the afternoon & unfortunately I was late due to having a hard time finding parking, but luckily I found parking right out front. Upon entering the owner at the front desk did check my temperature & asked if I could wash my hands, which is safe measures to take during this time. Before I mention the actual pedicure, I want to briefly say that I am someone who takes care of their feet & I normally do my own pedicures because I've had a hard time finding a salon that does pedicures well. The night before going I removed my polish on my toes & noticed the bottom of my feet was a little rough & I have a callus remover, but I'm getting a pedicure the next day, so I figured that will be taken care of. The young lady who did my pedicure was nice & everything she used felt great on my feet. She pushed my cuticles back & clipped my nails. What she didn't do was file my nails. She also used a sponge with ruffles on it to scrub the bottom of my feet, but when I got home & touched the bottom of my feet, the same way it felt the prior night, it felt the same way which was disappointing. Now I don't know if they're not using metal callus removers due to the pandemic( although the same cleaning solution they use for nail clippers they can use on that) but I think that would be more effective than using the sponge. I did tip her generously, due to her taking her time & I know for some people being out from work during this time hasn't been easy & I'm very sympathetic to that. I just wish she would've filed my nails & gotten the bottom of my feet softer than it was when I came in. As I mentioned prior I usually give myself pedicures, so I have the tools but I wanted to treat myself. Included in the pedicure was a hot stone massage which they didn't have the stones & that was fine & the owner was courtesy & gave me a discount for the inconvenience, which was nice from a professional stand point. Overall the pedicure felt good, but it was just disappointing with not getting the bottom of my feet softer & not filing my nails. read more

I was there today for a hard gel refill, and was terribly overcharged..how do you charge 10$ for the gel polish, if you are getting a hard gel refill??????I was also charged for fixing 2 nails when only one nail needed to be fixed, then I was charged 5$ for a cut down when all she did was file them and 20$ for design which is one of the most basic designs ever don't get me wrong I really like my nails but I left feeling so cheated and I will never return to do my nails. The 2 stars is for my pedicure Kirah did a really good job and took her time and it was well worth it... The owners mom, has been doing my mom as well as my mother's hair for years. So on my birthday as I was getting my hair done, I told her that I have to get my nails and feet done. She told me that her daughter just opened up a shop across the street and wanted me to check it out. Everything was amazing. I live in LI and would certainly take the trip out here. This place has fell off...I loved it at first...but now!! I went on Thursday and had a gel mani/pedi well it's only Monday and I have 3 nail with the polish already lifting. The nail tech was on thr phone most of the time and not just the phone but FaceTime and even cursing. Made me feel uncomfortable as the service was usually better. One of my nailbeds are swollen from her pulling at my cuticles to hard. The best thing I could say is my eyebrows are great and the service was timely. read more

I waited outside until 10:08 since the business was closed. I had a 10am appointment which I booked online. Employees were waiting for the owner Chanel to open. People walked in and were taken. I waited 10 minutes and then the owner asked me to make sure what I wanted. At 10:22am, Georgia came to me and introduced herself with a smile and made sure what services I was receiving. She asked if they were my natural nails or tips and started right away. She took her time perfecting my nails and asking if everything was okay. She def knows her craft and is great! Georgia offered water to me as I was parched.She shaped them coffin style and to perfection. Georgia said someone would come polish my nails 12:45pm as she had a pedicure to get started on. I waited and waited until 1:09pm. I asked the owner if someone could start me due to the timing and parking. My nails were finally polished by another tech. Natalia started my lavender spa pedicure. She prepped the area and smiled while she greeted me. Natalia is very friendly and knowledgeable. She had otherwatching her as she did my spa pedicure. I recommend the spa pedicure. You get a paraffin wax to smooth your feet as well. Professionalism: ehhh... Time: 5 hours for a spa pedicure & full set acrylic and removal ...time is valuable always Service: They did a great job! I loved the way my nails and feet came out. Georgia & Natalia did an awesome job!! Con: only 1 hr parking time slots which mean you have to move your car back and forth. When this place opened up , I knew I 'd be transitioning to support black owned business in anyway possible. I am very much attached to my nail tech BUT this place has done great services for me too. I get my lashes done at least twice a month here by the owner Teshey. She always takes her time , and we usually get wrapped up in conversation so it doesn't seem like I'm on the table long. After , I always get compliments (people even think they are real *bats eyes*). I also get pedicures here. Most recently , Georgia did a great job. She took her time and communicated with me throughout. The work is always clean and the techs are always accommodating. From the moment that I walk in they greet me , offer to take my coat , and the best part? They give wine. Talk about SERVICE ! The most I've ever waited here was 10 mins and the person who was servicing called to let me know what was going on .. so I didn't mind. Over all , an A++ for service , decor and hospitality. I went here about 2 weeks ago (8/24) and based on the reviews & what I'd seen on Instagram, I was really excited to try this place out. I was honestly surprised I was even able to make an appointment seeing as how I sent a message late the night before. I wanted a fairly simple pedicure & gel manicure ($50), which I did get but I can't say I was thrilled about the outcome. My pedicure was good (except for the part where I sat with my feet in water that turned lukewarm as I waited for a half hour). I was really disappointed in the lack of options for gel colors. Basically there was nothing to match the pink/nude I'd gotten on my toes. That meant a completely different color had to be used for my manicure. I instantly hated the color and regretted choosing it from the 2 options I was given (not that the other option was any better). The entire thing just didn't look good to me and when I said something about it, I was told that it looked fine. On top of the mismatched polishes, I asked if a floral design could be done on two of my nails before the pedicure was finished and I was told that someone else would have to do it for me. I was okay with that. ...until it came time to do the design and no one would even attempt to do it for me. I really wish the woman who did my nails had asked someone if they knew how to do it beforehand so I could've taken my manicure business elsewhere. Basically, I left really underwhelmed & I didn't get what I wanted at all. I feel like I paid too much to leave so dissatisfied. It was like I wasted 2 hours of my birthday. This was my experience going to this nail salon and I will give a detailed review. I had to book my gel manicure and pedicure for different appointments but I'm glad I did. If you are going to book an appointment I'd recommend to book in advance don't wait, because the time slots fill up quick it seems. I will say I am a happy customer and will be returning. We should do everything in our power to support a black owned businesses and try to have some understanding/compassion if a mistake possibly happens. We go to other salons usually not black owned, that may treat us worst and only care about our dollar but this salon actually tries it's best to accommodate you. If you don't like something then speak up. When I first got my gel manicure I noticed some tiny bubbles in it later on so when I went back for the pedicure I let them know and they pleasantly helped me. My nail technician fixed it so quick and my manicure looks awesome. My pedicure came out beautiful too and my nail tech took so much time and pride into her work. I am so excited to keep supporting this business in the future. They may not do certain services but I am sure they will expand in due time. Definitely worth a try. read more

I really wanted to love this place... I came in for my appointment today and they were mopping. They directed me to sit down I guess for the floor to dry. What they should of done was directed me to pick a nail color while they finish cleaning but whatever. After its done drying, she tells me to pick a color, I went over to find the color and 2 minutes into me looking Georgia states, "Can you hurry up, I have other clients". Excuse me?! That was so rude!!! What she could of said was, "Are you having trouble? Can I help you find a color". That turned me all the way off and I wanted to walk out right then and there. Perfect way to make a client feel extremely uncomfortable. Then I showed her my phone to see if she can help me find the green. She then said, "If you don't see it, we don't have it". WHY DOES SHE FEEL THE NEED TO BE SO RUDE?!!? She didn't even bother to help me look. Horrible customer service. I am completely blown away by the level of rudeness. After she did my nails she started to be nice but that doesn't take away from the fact she was so mean to me for no reason. Safe to say I will not be returning, I take being nice to others serious. Imani did my nails and I love them (which is amazing because I am extremely picky). There was a complimentary glass of wine, great music playing in the background and the shop had beautiful decor. Booked this establishment to do my makeup. Even with my appointment still had to wait much longer than expected as the one makeup Artist was with another client. The artist and what seemed like the receptionist did check in periodically during the wait. Ok. I hate to do this but the service I got was HORRIBLE! I booked my nail appt and I think that was the only good part from the whole experience. Got a response right away. I can't remember what time the appointment was for, but I do remember that I arrived 15 mins early. As soon as I walked in, all the employees just starred at me as if they thought I was lost. Finally one asked me if she could help me and I told her I had an appointment. She said, oh you're too early. Um ok, I'll just sit and wait. I got weird looks as if it was strange to arrive on time for my appointment. Now fast forward to my nails, which started 15 mins AFTER my set appointment, but whatever, I wasn't in a rush and didn't mind. Then began the WORST experience EVEEEEEER! The nail tech asked me what shape of nails I wanted and I said "coffin". She laughed and said, so silly, its ballerina shape. I just smiled and didn't say anything, but in my mind I was thinking SAME THING B***H! Anyways, she the began filling my nails which is where I wanted to cry. I have a VERY high tolerance for pain but my God! I felt like she wanted to file down my actual fingers into needles. It got so bad to the point that 2 of my fingers bled a little. Finally the pain and agony ended and it gets even worse, the polish she used dried really weird, but at this point I did not care one bit and just wanted to go! On my way home I realized that my right hand nails were longer and more narrow than my left. So not only did she laugh at me and said its ballerina shape, but she goes and messes up the length and shape which is one of the most IMPORTANT aspects of nails. Oh and she was nice enough to offer me some wine which I kindly declined and she again laughed at me and asked if I couldn't handle liquor. WTH? I CANNOT DEAL!!! The reason I HATE writing this review is because I was looking to support black businesses, but with this horrible experience and that slick mouth of hers, I simply CANNOT! I will say, the tech next to her did seem to be doing a good job and her client didn't seem to be suffering like I was. Oh and I get that the place is trying to look classy, but those chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable for short people. My tech kept getting upset because I couldn't extend my arm all the way across the table to her side, keep in mind, she is TALL. At least 5'11 and I'm 5'4. read more

Finally... A salon in the area with a certain level of class. Aesthetic wise, it's beautiful, clean, spacious and has a functional layout. Accompanied with a window view for a waiting area. They only go by appointments which is very courteous for both the client and provider so no one is left waiting or should be waiting. The background music is soothing. The prices are affordable. And the staff is quite pleasant. I only came for lashes which were applied beautifully and Thalia was super sweet. From what I saw, they use quality products for manis and peds. The only thing I forgot to ask was what type of wax they use for Brazilians and such. I will be returning. read more

i removed my last review because i saw the owner replied and regarding me attempting to get in contact with the salon while they were closed is my bad. on google it says they're open but i failed to view their website for hours. i called in on monday (yesterday morning) to say that i was there on saturday and two of my nails have broken and if there was any way i could get them fixed. the lady was very dismissive in just saying "no we're booked", i spent my money not even two days ago and does not even try and attempt to give me any date or time, any type of solution which i found quite rude. i asked her if there was anything i could do and she repeated that they were booked. i know most salons have a 24 hour rule when fixing broken nails and i was attempting to get in contact with them to abide by that (which again, my bad - the salon was closed) but now i'm sitting here tuesday morning, with not two broken nails but four (two broke between monday afternoon and tuesday morning). i do not do anything crazy or put a lot of pressure on my nails, i have been getting acrylics for almost 5 years now and well know how to take care of it. not even a week later i now have to spend more money on getting a soak off and a full set all over again. When I found this place on yelp i was really excited, i wanted to get my nails done for my 21 birthday ! And i decided to make an appointment for a dip set (35$). I got there on time for my appointment and there was only two ladys working and they both had customers ! I dont know why they go off appointments if they dont even check it ! The lady who did my nails, was going to do some other ladys pedicure before she knew she didnt have an appointment ! Anyways the lady was very nice but she didnt take her time to do her job, all my nails were uneven and some were very round! I asked for a coffin shape tips and she kinda did that, all the tips didnt look alike! After she finished my nails she charged me 40$ when it was originally 35$ but i gave her a tip for being nice.Futhermore Two days had passed and my tips started to break off, i came back to get it fixed and she got the wrong pink for my dip set and decided to do the other finger on my left hand that color so it doesnt stand out ! It looked terrible and she still charged me 5$,I will not be coming back to this establishment, its very pretty inside but the workers need more training on how to do dip set tips better . read more

I visited this shop twice recently, it's definitely a step above the rest with a nice modern flair. They offer wine and water which is a nice touch. They offer facials, lashes, nails and other services. The ladies working were friendly and professional. I was only taken aback by the owner, I had to ask on my second visit because I wasn't sure who she was. On my first visit she walked in with an unpleasant attitude and seemed a bit annoyed by everything. She was a bit snappy with the ladies working asking them questions with a bit of attitude and sass behind it. It did make me uncomfortable for a bit, because I felt bad for nail technicians, but they didn't seem bothered and continued working. My second visit she was a bit snappy again but I guess that's just her demeanor. Definitely not pleasing for a place of business. However I love supporting black own businesses so I will be back. My nail tech was Sharome she did a great job and my nails lasted, even a week later they still looked as if I just got them done. The prices are a bit higher than other places, but the ambiance and setting makes up for that. read more
