    Parking lot

This review is for a workshop only, not any classes. The campus just pops out of nowhere. You'll drive through a residential area, lagoon on one side, and then Mira Costa appears. It's small, but you have to keep in mind, it's a satelite campus. There's a few buildings, a pretty decent size parking lot, and a few grassy areas to sit on. There is a student convenience store but it was closed the day I went. Parking is easy- one dollar all day, cash only, and the machine doesn't give change. Three stars from me.

I'm currently taking my language courses at this college to fulfill the requirement at CSUSM for a cheaper price. My class is online so I can't say I know much about the school. However, I do need to come here to take my tests, and I've had nothing but great experiences. Their language lab at this location is small but if you make an appointment to come in, you'll be able to get an open computer. I was here recently taking my midterm and the process was smooth and non stressful. Just what I needed for midterm week! The girl at the front desk checked me in, walked me to my computer and explained the setup in order to take my exam. They provide you with an accent cheat sheet so you don't have to stress about that. All in all the process was very smooth and my experience was great. Campus is small but it's also a satellite campus to the main hub in Oceanside. Very laid back area in Encinitas. Also- parking is only $1.00 for a day pass! Say whaaaat!! That's amazing! Don't forget to bring cash, because the parking permit box doesn't accept cards!

THE BEST YEARBOOK QUOTES EVER…read more Congratulations to all the starry-eyed high school and college seniors graduating this year! Give yourselves a high five for making it through some crazy times. Not only did you survive a global pandemic, but you also had to deal with endless wildfires, skyrocketing inflation, and those pesky murder hornets. Through it all, you persevered. So much so that I am hereby bestowing upon you the Top 10 best yearbook quotes I have ever received. So use these quotes as inspiration to go forth and make this world slightly less horrible! (1) "I'm surprise you graduate, why you no doctor yet?" -my asian mom (2) "Let's hang this summer" "Best friends 4evrrr!" "True love is rare, but true friendship is rarer." {*never to speak with again*} (3) "Yes, I voted for you in the 'Most Needy' category but you didn't have to beg me for it." (4) "Upon my death, all of my group project classmates shall lower me into my grave to let me down one final time." (5) "So what are you. Asian or Chinese?" (6) "I'm not insecure... unless you want me to be." (7) "Goodbye, everyone. I'll see you in my future therapy sessions." (8) "If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma you may be entitled to cash compensation." (9) "Never do cocaine, even though it sure does smell good!" (10) "I wish there was a way to know you are in the good old days before you have actually passed them." Pro tip: avoid writing "never change" in your loser-friends' yearbooks because too many of them would take it literally. Pro tip: already 35 years young, CSUSM is the system's 21st campus. Here you'll find great educators, small class sizes, and abundant resources. The 2024 U.S. News Best Colleges Report ranks the university 28th in the "Regional Universities West" category. That's pretty good, right?

So yes, it's been a LONG time and this review probably is not relevant, but I want to give my 2 cents. At the time I did brain highways, I remember having to creep/crawl on the floor there and at home, and do certain exercises. Honestly, as a 9-year-old, I did it because I "had to," but it felt unnecessary and humiliating (to crawl on the floor...). I personally did not take anything beneficial out of the program - I'm sure my parents did, but as a kid, I did not see any reason to be there. I did not have any behavioral issues or learning disabilities, and I just felt like a fish out of water. I did have undiagnosed OCD, which did not get diagnosed until I sought out therapy as an adult. This probably explained some of the things my parents were trying to get help with from brain highways, and I understand that this was an attempt at that. Now that I'm older, I honestly think if there was just a parent class back then, it would have been better. A 9 year old shouldn't be forced to crawl on the floor every day - that's just my opinion. It did not benefit my relationship with my parents, and it was a bit of a mess.

First, the positive. Brain Highways provides great parenting advice and Nancy is a very interesting…read moreperson. All of the exercises result in far more intentional parent/child interactions while going through the program. The entire program teaches discipline. Next, the negative. It's expensive. And more time consuming than it needs to be. Also, Nancy is a hot head and one wrong move and she snaps at you. So the program is very very stressful. I'll still give Brain Highways a 3 because it did help my daughter.

DO NOT attend this school. Please read before enrolling. I TRANSFERRED TO THE SAN DIEGO LOCATION,…read moreBUT I CAME FROM THE OC LOCATION. The only reason I'm still here is because l'm too deep into my program to transfer. They WANT young, aspiring and scared people to come here because we don't consider rating, reviews, money. but please do your research before confirming enrollment. This school isn't what they say it is. While the accreditations are real, the way the school works is demeaning. You have no power, the student handbook is only written out because the bppe states that every university needs one, but stanbridge is not a school that cares for their students. I used to attend Yasith Weerasuriya's Orange County location, one of four campuses under his ownership. But now I am at the San Diego location. This nursing school is for-profit, and it shows--they're here to make money off of students, not to support our education. From the moment you get in, things change fast. The person who helped you through the enrollment process? They disappear. You'll never hear from them again. After that, you're left to deal with counselors (called SSOs)--and if you're lucky, you'll get one who actually cares. But even then, they have no power. They're not allowed to fix anything that matters. The professors? They don't really teach. Most are kind people stuck in a system where they have to say, teach, and grade exactly how the dean or administrators tell them to. They are at the bottom of the chain, controlled by Yasith and his team. It's like watching puppets being forced to dance. One day, the dean came into our class and said, "I'm sure you guys came here because you didn't get accepted anywhere else." Whether that's true or not, it was harsh, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. Many of us came here because we wanted to become nurses quickly but this school makes that dream harder, not easier. I've personally witnessed students get unfairly failed and dismissed, even when their work followed the rubric. Professors can fail you just because they don't like you. And don't bother with the appeal process, it's just a delay tactic. They don't read them, they just deny you after a few days and we all get the same email. Why aren't there more lawsuits? Great question. That's because before you even start, they make you sign an arbitration agreement. What is that? An arbitration document means you're giving up your legal right to sue them in court. If something unfair happens, you can't file a lawsuit or be part of a class action. Instead, you have to settle things privately, through a process that usually favors the school. Most students don't even realize what they're signing. Oh, and Yasith the owner? He has no nursing background. His degree is in engineering, yet he's making decisions that affect your education and future nursing license. On top of that, the public face of the school, Victoria S., is just the social media director, not the owner or founder. If they're misrepresenting that, what else are they hiding? I've seen so many students dismissed for no valid reason and am terrified of getting dismissed from the San Diego location. Many believe it's to fund the campus I now go to, the newer San Diego campus. (This campus) This school is a money scheme. If you're serious about becoming a nurse and want to be respected and supported in your journey, go somewhere else. This place will take your money, your time, and your peace of mind and leave you with nothing in return. If you do decide to come here, keep a paper trail. And do not be afraid to speak your voice. They can not treat you unfairly due to you speaking up. Don't be afraid of them. They run off of scared individuals. THIS REVIEW IS GOING TO CONSTANTLY BE UPDATED THROUGHOUT MY TIME HERE. 5/9/2025

My son is planning to transfer to Miramar College from another community college with hopes of eventually attending UC San Diego. Unfortunately, he had a difficult experience with administration at his previous school, so we were already feeling pretty discouraged and overwhelmed trying to navigate the transfer process. We attempted to contact the counseling office and called several different numbers without any luck. Finally, we tried another number we found on Google, and to our surprise, someone answered. We explained our situation, and the gentleman we spoke with apologized and explained that the entire SDCCD district network was currently down. Even though he worked at an off-site location and had limited access because of the outage, he still took the time to help us. He asked whether we were military affiliated, and when I explained that we were not and had simply found the number online while searching for Miramar counseling, he immediately said, "No problem, I'm here to help you." From that moment on, he went above and beyond. He patiently walked us through everything my son needed to get started with the transfer process and assured us that once the systems were restored, he would follow up with additional links and information. His optimism, kindness, and genuine excitement for my son's future at Miramar College were truly a breath of fresh air. By the end of the conversation, we both felt relieved, encouraged, and excited again about this next chapter. A few days later, just as promised, we received a detailed email with links for transcript evaluation, counseling appointments, financial aid, and additional resources. We want to give a huge thank you to Mr. Ron at the Miramar Base for his professionalism, compassion, and willingness to help complete strangers during a stressful time. People like him make such a difference. We only wish we had base access so we could thank him in person.
