We had just gotten into Albany with some coworkers and I were starving, so we walked over to Miranda's Deli since it was nearby. When we walked in, we didn't realize they were literally in the middle of closing up everything was already cleaned and packed away. But instead of turning us away, they welcomed us in and said, "Come on, we got you what do you want?" That alone says everything about this place. The people running it are genuinely great super friendly, joking around, and made us feel like family right from the start. They absolutely didn't have to do that for us, and we really appreciated it. I ordered the Italian Stallion sandwich and I'm honestly mad I didn't take a picture because it was that good. I didn't eat it until I got back to the hotel, and it still held up great sandwich all around. We also tried the pizza, which was really good too. The place might look small when you first walk in, but there's actually another room in the back with tables, and everything was very clean and organized. Great food, even better people. When I'm back in Albany, I'll definitely be stopping here again. read more

And our dog is obsessed with it because the owner is amazing and will run her out a paper plate of grilled chicken or bacon when she lays down in front of his door. We seriously had to change our walking path because she is more obsessed than we even are. Once upon a time, when I was a dewy-cheeked young college student with stars in my eyes and my whole life stretching limitlessly before me, &c &c., my best friends and I used to go to the on-campus food court to get sandwiches. For some reason still unclear to me, the sandwiches from the deli counter in this food court were always absolutely delicious. My one friend always ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich with melty pepper Jack cheese and honey mustard, and we soon all adopted a version of this order with variations on the toppings etc. More than a decade later we still occasionally send each other mournful messages in our WhatsApp group about how we miss those sandwiches, we're craving one of those sandwiches, we still haven't found a decent replacement for those sandwiches, etc. Why do I relate this long and boring sandwich story? Because yesterday I wandered into Miranda's Deli for the first time, noticed that they had chicken cutlet subs on the menu, and decided on a whim to try to replicate my beloved College Sandwich. My friends, this place has cracked the code. Tender, juicy, flavorful chicken, generous toppings, bread crisped up just right when I asked for it heated. I may have come close to shedding a tear or two as I devoured this thing. I immediately texted the WhatsApp group to share my momentous sandwich news. To top it off, my lunch was dirt cheap -- ten bucks for the hefty sandwich, a San Pellegrino soda and a bag of chips, and the service was so incredibly nice and friendly that I started wondering whether they were recruiting for some kind of sandwich-based religious sect. I've always liked going to Miranda's for my veggie and cheese sub, , but the last time this past 9/15/23 they only sliced the sub roll a little bit and stuffed my veggies in and there was so much bread on one side it was gross. Texan, here. This deli is adorable, the people are super friendly and the food is so delicious (and affordable) that I told my husband that I want to move here. We pay lots more for food that doesn't compare. We enjoyed the hot pastrami on rye, chicken noodle soup and meatball sausage sub. Seriously-- perfect. We were visiting from MN...touring RPI, and decided to give Miranda's a try. Amazingly quick service, unbelievably kind employees, and fantastic food! The portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. They even have a sweet patio. The gentleman behind the counter, handed our daughter napkins while saying something kind, showed me where to grab a straw for my pop, and was super kind and warned us that it might be a little wet on the patio. Just stopped by here today for some lunch, and it was delicious! Grabbed a caprese small sub, a bag of chips and a drink for a pretty fairly priced $11. (No cards, only cash or check so bring cash!) I haven't had a sandwich as good as the one I got at Miranda's Deli in a long time...I couldn't stop eating it! They added a vinegarette sauce to their caprese and it was absolutely delicious. Placing an order feels a little unnatural bc there's no real indication of where to go to place an order, but step up to the deli counter and tell them there what you want, and they'll have it ready to go within a few minutes. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly, and the establishment was clean and warm. 10/10 have to visit. read more

I got the Jerk Chicken Melt and it was very good. Prices are very reasonable and they completed orders quickly during the lunch rush. They don't take electronic payments and I was short a few dollars to pay. Cashier said don't worry about it and gave me my order. I left and hit an ATM and walked back to fully pay. Cashier said I didn't need to do it, I could have just paid the next time. Told him I was from out of town so there would not likely be a next time. He was happy I returned to pay, but he didn't know I was out of town when he waived the shortage. I asked a guy, who was about to open a door next to the restaurant, for a good place to eat --sharing with him that I didn't feel like eating in my car. "They have tables!" he said. Going into a busy deli for the first time at lunchtime can be intimidating, so when I said it was my first time, they were more than eager to make suggestions.
