This is an updated review to one I had originally left, however I thought it was important to give a little bit of a backstory to explain why I think this is a great company. Approximately 2 years ago I had the idea that I wanted to add solar to my home. A lot of companies come to your house promising that they are going to provide you solar by replacing your electric bill with a solar loan. Makes sense because in the long term you'll finally get a chance to one day pay off your electric bill. After reviewing companies I finally settled on Mirasol solar. After the first initial installation, I realized by the end of my first year that the panels installed were not adequate to supply the goal of 100% solar energy in one year. This unfortunately created a hardship for me because I was put in the position where I was paying two bills, both the solar and an electric bill. I had posted an original review, in which I loudly complained about the poor estimate that entrapped me with the lower than expected solar production. But here's why I'm giving this company extremely high marks. Rather than telling me to go get a lawyer and good luck with suing them, the CEO of the company called me and committed directly to making my situation right. What proceeded after that was a careful period of evaluation and due diligence on their part to both own up to their mistake, as well as bringing on board necessary resources to correct the problem. They more than lived up to their word. Unfortunately a lot of companies do not operate like them, and if the company makes a mistake you are stuck with the problem and an expensive legal team. That's not how this company operated. With direct leadership interaction and engagement, I now have a system that is running at peak performance and generating quality power. So in summary, the true mark of a good company is not in their level of perfection, although that would be wonderful, but it's in how they honor their word and respect the customer. That was on full display from the top of this company to the individual employees that were quick to respond to my very insistent questions. read more

We got a FAFCO solar pool blanket. We designed it conservatively. It works better than we could have imagined. Seemed like it was worth the price to get the best available. Unfortunately, the thermostat that reads the pool water temperature is giving erroneous readings. Don't know why. 82 temperature in pool is being read as 88 or 89, and heater shuts off prematurely. It may be a simple matter of getting direct sunlight and overreading temperature. Maybe not. But several calls to Mirasol have resulted in NO help. 'someone will call' but they don't. If they won't give service or even help after the sale, they're not worth the price. read more

We had solar pool heating put in by Mirasol and it has proven to require costly repairs and frequent service calls. While their service crews are very nice, their equipment and warranty does not last long. We paid extra for their maintenance contract and have been very disappointed by the extra charges, what is NOT covered, delayed service, broken promises, cost estimates that differed from the invoices sent, etc. They charged outrageous fees to service their own solar panels and would not admit any fault when they leaked and required an expensive roofing job. Their service manager is hard to get hold of and generally not terribly responsive and conveniently "forgot" a conversation and a promise he made. Frankly, I do not recommend them. read more

Mirasol installed a solar hot water heater at our home in Central Florida about 8 years ago. The system has worked very well. We typically turn off the breaker powering the backup heating element 10 months out of the year and heat 100% of the water via the sun. Recently after a periodic drain of the scale (which is recommended for all water heater heater regardless if solar) I had problems getting the pump to work properly again. John and others at Mirasol have been very helpful working with me to get the system working again. read more

We had our gutters cleaned and the handyman noticed that I had a leak from pool solar panel. He told me that he does not try to tackle these types of projects. He referred me to Mirasol Fafco Solar. I called on Monday afternoon and spoke with Lauren who told me that she would have the Service Manager, John, give me a call. John called back in about one hour. He told me the rates and minimums. I told him that they were fine. He told me that he would check is dispatching schedule and give me a call back. He called again in less than an hour and told me he would have a crew in my area the next day, Tuesday at 10 am. His crew arrived promptly, completed the work and the charge was exactly as he had told me. They fixed my problem and we are completely satisfied with the professionalism, the courtesy of all involved and repair that was completed so quickly. If I ever have a problem, I will not hesitate and return to Mirasol. It is refreshing to firm that is straightforward and who follow through on their commitments...arriving on time and fixing the problem with the charge exactly in line that was told to us. read more

The installation was flawless and professional. That is where my praise ends. I purchased whole home PVC panels, a solar water heater panel, and pool panels. I chose this company based on their assurance that the company would be monitoring my panels to maintain optimal performance. In the 3 years, I have owned solar, I had to call them to report issues. It took 2 years for a technician to arrive to check the status of my system. Since no mechanical default of the solar was noted by the technician, I was charged a service call. John is very rude on the phone. I quote "I don't know why you would be asking about that anyway!" Not one month has my electricity bill shown a refund or the minimal base charge. Yes, my electricity bill has been reduced, but it does not equal the loan payment plus the FPL bill. Followup after the purchase is frustrating and a wild chase. The office will not return calls or emails for days/weeks. My neighbor was jealous after I purchased solar and inquired from this company and several others on quotes. He chose a cheaper company and his output is more resulting in a lowered electricity bill. Now I'm envious of him! This company has a great sales team but don't be fooled. Look elsewhere. read more

We had the Mirasol roof pool solar system installed five years ago. The system breaks down continually with leaks and loss of much water from the pool. We have had to wait for service two to three weeks at times. I would not recommend this system. read more

had them install both solar hot water and electric. Had problem with hot water tank. I yr out of warranty (5 yr.) 6 yrs old and failed. I had to replace tank, had solar electric problem. I TOLD them the problem, THEY messed around for 4 days and charged me over $400.00 . THEN I had another problem and told them I would NOT pay for any repair man to come out and charge me over $100. They tried to charge me over $100.00. I just called 3 days ago to see about repair to system. NO COURTESY CALL BACK. This treatment for a total system install of OVER $60,000. DOLLARS. I'm sure there are OTHER Solar installers who are more professional. Do yourself a favor and find them. Also from personal experience IF you get Solar hot water for house get system that heats water and then returns it ti hot water tank. The "exchange heat" hot water system is prone to leaks and you have to keep filling the tanks. read more

I needed Solar panel put back up on my roof and requested a quote. John was not very eager to speak with me from the beginning and it got worse after I told him what I needed. Maybe that is just his personality. He sent a tech out to inspect my equipment and said he would get with John to give me a quote. It has been 10 days since the tech came by and John never called back. I assume it was too small of a job for their troubles. Terrible customer service. I guess if I ever need replacement panels, solar water heater, etc... I know who NOT to call. read more

We recently replaced our solar pool heater due to the age and maintenance costs. The new unit has been so much more efficient that we have not used the electric heater nearly as much as in the past. Last week we felt there was a problem and we requested a service call but never expected the service call during the scary times of COVID-19. They called us back right away and made an appointment within a couple days and asked us to abide by the 6' distance rule when they were on site. They checked out the unit and explained why it was working perfectly. We don't do a lot of reviews online but felt these guys deserve a big kudos, great job and thanks again. read more

We decided to install a solar heated pool system. A friend recommended Mirasol FAFCO Solar; he promised us that we would not be disappointed, and we were not. I called their office and made an appointment, and Scott Egglefield, the owner, came out to our house. Scott was punctual, polite and professional. After just a few minutes of talking to Scott we quickly recognized that not only was he knowledgeable but he is also really passionate about what his product can provide. Thus we received a detailed lesson on solar heating theory and explanation of what would be needed including system requirements and total cost. We ended up purchasing a solar heating system, a variable speed pump that is much quieter and more efficient than our old pump, a salt chlorine generator, and also a solar powered attic fan that will keep our air conditioning bill lower. During installation, the crew was prompt, polite, and professional. Scott stopped by during installation to check in and then again after it was all done and walked us through using the control panels. During the first week of operation, we had a question on the correct salt level. We called the office and within a half hour someone was here to test the water and advise us. At installation, our water temperature was 62 and within a week it was near 80. We set it for 90 and it got there; we actually ended up turning it down to 85 and it's now very comfortable. We are thrilled with the new system. It's very easy to use and understand. read more

Mirasol just got done installing solar panels to heat my pool today. The entire experience, from first phone call to installation, was excellent, truly like dealing with family members (the ones you like, ha ha). The techs who did the install, Nathaniel and Joe, were truly great. All to often techs come out and do just the bare minimum to get the job done and get out of there, leaving behind clean up and the owner with a feeling of frustration and not getting what they actually paid for, not this time. Nathaniel and Joe removed old equipment that I didn't need, completely rerouted the messy piping that was previously there and made the pool pump area look like it's never looked before (they even swept up all the dead leaves that were behind everything). The attention to detail was refreshing. They were also very informative during the whole process and gave me a thorough demo of the new solar panels, pump and controls they installed. I have had solar panels and pool automation installed by this company. All was well until I needed several panels replaced after several years out of warranty. John(inside service Mgr.) assures me it is normal for replacement panels to stand up from the roof up to a foot in places. The panels are too long and wont lay down as they should. The next wind event we have will tear these off the roof. The service dept also has the"Im doing you a favor" mentality by working for you. If this is not your idea of good service, look elsewhere. read more

We had a solar system for our pool installed 9 months ago. The salesman and the installers were great. Yesterday, I happened to be walking around the house and noticed that water (a leak) was coming down from the solar panels. This was about 9 in the morning. I don't know how long it has been leaking. I immediately called Mirasol to speak with someone and had to leave a message for John. Later yesterday afternoon, after no call back, I called again and left another message on Scott's line. No call back. This morning, around 9, I called and asked for John and was told that he was on another call and was told to leave a message. I said that I would hold since I didn't get a call back yesterday. I was then told that he was in the warehouse and to call back in 30 minutes. I then called my salesman, Jay, and complained about not getting a call back. Around 10:30, John called me. I explained the problem with the system leaking. He didn't seem to be concerned and said that he would put me on the schedule for the 2nd week of March. Three weeks out. Are you kidding me? A leaking system. I said that would not work and he said that I could shut the system down (for 3 weeks). It seems that while you are a paying customer, everything is good. Once they have your money, all bets are off. This type of customer service is totally unacceptable. If I had known about the service or lack of service, I would have used another company. read more

The quality of care I received at Mirasol was above and beyond. John Bilbrey, the service manager at Mirasol was excellent. John at Mirasol FAFCO solar is a extraordinary sales manager. The level of customer relations, and the time he spent with me on the phone, and in person, is a rare thing to find in companies these days. He went above his job title to make sure that I was satisfied with my new salt water pool, and solar panels his team installed. I cannot say enough good things about this company! they are the people you want to go to if you ever have problems with your solar panels or pool equipment.
