We have been using Roark for many years, (including by the original owner of the company). Since the first installation of the panels, we needed some of the panels repaired but never had any problem with the service nor with the response of the company. Last month, with our new roof, major changes had to occur with the solar panels which went smoothly. Hopefully, we will not have any problems with the new panels nor with their installation in the future. We expect to continue getting good service in the coming years for a reasonable price. read more

New madimack 140k pool heat pump installed by Roark. Installation was right on time and very professional install. They did very clean install including burying the PVC to keep out of the way and re-organizing the breakers. This madimack is a monster and so quiet. Your employee, Robert, sold me what he called your top-of-the-line, most expensive solar panels. He said 10 years warranty and said absolutely nothing about extra costs verbally or in writing. THERE IS REALLY NOTHING MORE FOR ME TO SAY! When I first called you in the winter time when I really needed solar heat you couldn't get to me and said nothing about a service charge. A few months later you got around to me and that's the first time you mentioned anything about a service charge which you said was $250! I said $250 to replace a panel? You gotta be nuts. No thanks. Bill came out eventually knowing he had an irate customer on his hands to check it out and said that the scheduler would get back with me. Said it would take about 20 minutes to replace and I figured the SC situation had been rectified. No luck. When the scheduler, I think her name was Brittany, called nothing had changed except for the service charge had risen.... Now it's $300! As I explain my situation some say, watch out, these people might jack it up to $400, $500, $1,000!. And is that for each panel? What happens if all six go out? Is it going to be $6,000? I'm not worried though. Not in a big rush. I won't need the solar for at least four or five months. I figure the owner or somebody who cares about this company will be able to squeeze 20 minutes into their schedule sometime during that time. I'm really wondering whether or not these are really top-of-the-line units that this guy sold me. Besides already leaking THESE ROARK PANELS DON'T KEEP THE POOL ANYWHERE CLOSE TO WARM. There is nothing erroneous in my review. I would caution anyone to trust this Roark Solar for anything. Anyone considering doing business with this company, review this complaint. Called them twice over a period of 2 weeks for help and was given excuses but I was promised and assured by them on both occasions that they would take care of my Solar needs. However they never followed through. Apparently I was forgotten. Roark Solar removed our solar panels before our roof was installed. Once the roof was completed they reinstalled the panels with new PVC piping painted brown to match the color of the roof. Roark's price was very reasonable and the work they did was done right without any problems. When they were done with the install the technician (Henry) checked everything out with our control panel to make sure everything was operating as it should. If you are thinking about having a solar system installed for your pool Roark Solar is the company to call. They are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. read more

I had Roark deinstall/reinstall solar panels when I was having my roof replaced. I was very happy with their attention to detail and their timeliness. During the time they were at my home I came to realize my pool pump had stopped working. They said they could come back the next day to replace and they did. Then Hurricane Ian came. The pump didn't seem to be working properly and I wanted them to come and check the solar panels on my roof. They sent Clayton. I wasn't comfortable with the level of focus he provided while at my house. He didn't check my solar panels and the excuse he gave for the pump not working didn't make sense to me. I called back and they sent Will out. Will went above and beyond. He explained the issue with the pump (my internal control panel kept overriding the external controls for the pump) and he went up on my roof and identified an issue with the panels and fixed the problem immediately. This review would have been a 5 star if Clayton had put a little more effort into resolving my issues. read more

What a terrible company. We installed their products several years ago and today have problems. They are terrible on service. For a month they have not responded to our situation...my neighbor had them replace their tubes and they came out and ignored our problems completely. I would give them 0 stars if possible. This company installed my solor pool panels 12 years ago on my roof and never had a problem. April this year (2018) I had a panel leaking. I called and spoke to Jim Roark and he stated someone would be out the middle of the following week. No one ever showed up. The end of April I called and spoke to Jim and he stated they are running behind and perhaps someone would be there the next day. No on ever showed up. May 2 I called and Jim said not this week for your service, maybe next week but he had 18 installations. BE CAREFUL It's not September and no one has ever showed up nor have I gotten a phone call from Jim Roark apologizing for the horrible customer service. They'll install your solar, but would not service my leak 12 years later. I got another company who was out in 1 day. He's not the only fish in the pond. read more

The most unethical and unknowledgeable solar company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Roark solar quoted $800 to de-install my existing solar panel which provided hot water. I was having a new roof installed and the panel had to be removed to do the roof. I would re-install the panel after the roof was done. The two workers arrived and proceeded to call their office to get instructions on how to do the job. They spent about 10 minutes working. They started to cut the copper water pipes until I stopped them and I suggested that they turn off the water to the solar panel so we did not have a flood from their cutting the pipes. The worker said "oh yeah I need to do that". The workers spent an actual 10 minutes working. One worker shut off the water feed to the panel in my garage, he cut the two copper pipes and unscrewed 4 bolts without breaking or stripping them. The workers put the panel in my garage. I went into the garage and looked for the bolts. They were not to be found. I called Roark Solar and politely asked where the bolts where. The Roark representative, Robert, asked why I wanted the bolts. I told him they were mine and I would need them to reinstall the solar panel. He proceeded to lambast me for not using Roark for the reinstall and "if he could find the bolts he would return them". The next day I got an email from Robert stating he found the bolts and would return them. The bolts were never returned despite multiple contacts with Robert and some one he identified as the owner. Roark Solar is the LAST company I would call for service. I paid them to do the initial installation at a cost of almost $4,000. The installer made holes in my roof that I had to have repaired. There was a leak in one of the solar panels as well. I had to call Roark three times before they returned a call. They told me everything was fixed and gave me a bill for almost $300. The leak in the panel was never fixed and I ended up having to replace the roof. When the roofers came I had them remove the solar panels permanently. A complete financial loss for me. The quality and professionalism you will get from this company cannot compare to anyone else. Do not hire this company. We were having a roof replaces and needed our pool solar panels removed and then reinstalled. They showed up as scheduled and removed the panels. The roof was then replaced. Now the problems started. We called and scheduled the reinstallation of the panels for two weeks later. Great! The day came. They didn't show up. No call from them. Over the next several days I called them on numerous occasions and left voice mails asking "what's up", and sent text messages. They never called. I finally got them on the phone and we rescheduled the installation for the next week. They said the date was "cast in stone". The date came, and guess what. Another no show and no phone call. Again, repeated efforts on my part to contact them via voicemail messages and texts. They never called me or responded to my texts. I finally spoke with them. They said "covid problems on their crew" was the reason for them not showing up. OK. But why no phone call? We rescheduled again. They said "guaranteed" to do it that date. You got it, no show again, and no phone call saying they weren't coming. After 6 weeks, they finally show up and finished the job. If you hire them, be prepared for no shows, delays, excuses, no return phone calls, etc. How do they stay in business?? read more
