I lost my job, moved home, and went to bed, for two years. I had been to therapy before, but never worked with a psychiatrist concerning adjusting my medications to specific levels. He started me out slowly with different anti-anxiety and antidepressants. Some worked, some didn't. A few years later, and I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. I'm dating an actual rocket scientist right now (I know), walk my dog for an hour every day, and created and now run a successful clothing business. There are really no specific words to describe someone who has completely changed your life. He works with me and my parents, and we have come to truly look forward to every session. Each visit was a repeat of the same questions he asked on the last visit (the same general background questions). He was not interested in how I felt physically, mentally or emotionally. He has no staff, only a rude answering service and I needed him to call a pharmacy to answer a question about a script before I ran out of medication I've been taking for 10+ years. He never returned the pharmacist's phone calls, I was off my medication for 10 days, I was desperately ill, saw him in his office and it still took 3 more hours and calls from me threatening to file a complaint with the medical board to get him to return the pharmacist's call in order to get my script filled. He will not call pharmacies. He says that is his policy. Who prescribes medication, but refuses to call pharmacies back? This guy. I asked about rehab and he said I couldn't afford it and wouldn't get better. For real. I've found a new doctor. Dr. Levine will not care about you as a patient and makes that very clear. I've had serious health issues since birth and needed medication early. Dr. Book has always been careful and thorough in managing my medications and making sure there were no harmful interactions, which gave me and my family real peace of mind. She is extremely thorough, knowledgable, intelligent, compassionate, communicative, collaborative, and dedicated. She knows what she knows, but also knows what she doesn't know and can admit that. I tried a few different integrative doctors before I met with Dr. Chandra, but they either didn't have has much coverage as her, or they weren't collaborative partners in my health journey. There isn't an ounce of condescension in this office, which is refreshing. She hires the best people, too. They are intelligent, compassionate, strong, and dedicated, too. He's fantastic. The office staff is also incredibly good at what they do. Medical office staff are usually overworked and underpaid, and it is the norm for them to lose prescriptions, communication poorly, misschedule, etc. But the staff here are exceptional in that they are friendly and diligent on getting you what you need, and I've never had a problem. I can't overemphasize how rare that is, having been to doctors all over the state over the course of my life. The only time there have been (rare) mess-ups, it has been the pharmacy's fault. She then left the practice. My daughter is having medical issues that I suspect are related to the change in her prescription. I was told I had to wait weeks to talk to a doctor about this. In that time, I got her enrolled in a partial hospitalization program since she cannot go to school due to nausea, fainting etc. I called to cancel our appoint over 24 hours in advance since she will be in the hospital tomorrow. They said they will charge me anyway. The front office staff are rude. This practice is the worst. Its not even good enough to be called a pez dispenser because they don't even care about what the medication does to patients and aren't available when things go wrong. No compassion. No treatment. Just bills.
