So I moved to the area in January. I couldn't find anyone to cornroll my hair. Someone introduced me to Kylie. We linked up and she cornrolled my hair and did an amazing job on it. She took pics of me and then, she messaged the pictures to my phone. I texted her and said she did a great job and I asked her if she was single or married. She told me she had a boyfriend and afterwards, I NEVER pursued or brought it up again. Right before christmas, my grandmother went in and got me a $25 Gift Card for Mirror Mirror. (she didn't know the cornrolls cost $50 and not just $25). My 10 year old overheard the conversation and took pop bottles in so she could have extra spending money for xmas. She went to mirror mirror and got a 2nd $25 Gift Card so I would have the total $50. On the 8th of Dec, I texted Kylie asking her if she can do my hair again before Xmas hit. No response. Xmas comes and I now have 2 $25 Gift Cards for Mirror Mirror so I call the next day they are open. Kylie tells me over the phone that she no longer wants to do cornrolls. She tells my grandmother that I was "Inappropriate". So I decide to confront Kylie face to face and find out why she is denying me service and why if she was denying me service, would she take my family's money if she didn't want to do it. I arrive to the Salon and as soon as I walk through the door, the owner says "I have your refund hold on". I respond "I would like to have a word maam". She looked at me with a wrinkled up face and said "no you aren't going to say anything" and then threatened calling the Sheriff. I then asked Kylie why she told my grandmother I was inappropriate and pulled my phone out to show the text messages. She had no comeback whatsoever and the owner says "I dont care about the text messages, I don't care if she refuses you service and I respond with "and thats EXACTLY the problem, YOU DON'T CARE. Neither had a comeback and stood there speechless for 20+seconds. At the end of the day, I care about 1 thing and 1 thing only. Don't lie about someone being inappropriate and if you're going to lie about it, have the proof. I brought proof and you KNEW I had proof which is why u were screaming "I don't care".Don't get caught up in your lie, then try to backpedal and stutter step to crawl out the hole you put yourself in for false accusations. Also don't lie and say someone forced you to make Mirror/Mirror Giftcards. They have a word for that, its called Extortion. Why didn't you call the Sheriff when that happened? I am a combat vet with a DD214 to prove and my entire family (every generation) has served in the Armed Forces. I am also a good looking man and have ALWAYS been respectful to women. I don't need to act THIRSTY nor do I need to be inappropriate. I accept no and move on. If you had moved on then nothing wouldv'e changed and you would have no problem still giving me service. Oh my gosh! How do I put into words how blown away I was by the incredible caring experience I had this afternoon at Mirror Mirror. The owner Debbie took care of me. I had my hair washed and braided for a surgical procedure on my neck tomorrow and actually have an appointment scheduled in two weeks to have my hair washed and braided again before the other side of my neck gets done. My braid is beautiful, tight and perfect. But not so tight it hurts. And she even lowered the price she quoted me on the phone when it didn't take her very long. She is an incredibly generous woman. Visiting La Pine for Thanksgiving and two of us decided we needed a last minute haircut! So very impressed with this little place. Very very nice ladies and Anna was so good! She has 19 years experience and from San Diego which is where we live. I am used to paying triple for a haircut and Anna's prices are really great and haircuts were spot on. I had to get my haircut but needed to be in La Pine and after seeing this salon had over (20) 5 star reviews on Facebook - I felt safe to give it a try. Debbie the owner and hair designer has over 40 years experience and did an exceptional job thinning, layering, and trimming my hair all for $15.00 - $20.00 with tip. I have paid over $50.00 in Bend for a haircut and didn't get as nice of a cut. I highly recommend Mirror Mirror salon in La Pine located next door to Figaro's Pizza off of HWY 97.
