The last THREE times I patronized this place I witnessed blatant racism. I wanted to make sure this wasn't just coincidence. I paid close attention to the owner giving White patrons back massages with her bare hands and giving Black patrons a beat on the back with these tools (pictured below) as if she doesn't want to touch them. When I confronted her about this, she said sometimes her hands are too tired. But a lady (who just so happened to be white) JUST got out of her chair before me and she gave a back massage with her hands. As soon as my nails were finished...she reaches to grab these tools to bang on my back. I said no thanks and let her know what I witnessed in my last three visits. OF COURSE, she denied, denied, denied and said "my bad." First of all, I do not speak using ebonics so "my bad" from her was also a bit much. Very disappointing. I've now seen both her and her husband doing the same thing with customers. If you guys barely want to touch Black patrons...don't accept their money! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! Extremely unsettling. I hope you two are not teaching your daughter this racism too. I will never give VIP NAILS another penny. Also, the reuse flip-flops and toe separators. And they do NOT clean nail tools in between customers. I always had to request sanitizing in front of my face!!!

I called because I had a gift card for a couples massage, but asked if I could use it for a different service. Her answer was yes with no hesitation or questions asked. When I go to check out (my gift card totaling $179 and facial costing $79.00) I was told by the experienced cashier (Sabrina) that the entire gift card must be used because it was originally meant for a couples massage. Francisca failed to mention this on the phone prior to me coming in to receive the facial. She failed to ask a more experienced person what the requirements are for gift cards. Due to her careless mistake, the total service I received was $110.00 with the purchase of a scrub included that I bought with my personal funds. If I would have known from the beginning, I have may gotten more add-ons to my service or maybe even a massage if I knew they would charge the entire gift card totaling $179.00 (let's not fail to mention that tip couldn't be included on the gift card either). I showed her a picture of coffin nails with a pink tip on them and she decides to just ignore what I show her and keep my nails almond when I specifically told her I wanted the new shape. I did not want to ask her to reshape them, considering she was already being passive aggressive towards me when I asked her if she could do the nails, I showed her in the picture it felt like she didn't want to even do them at all. Her attitude was disgusting and she'll make you feel like you're in the wrong for asking for what you want. She finished doing my nails and I left somewhat happy because I thought they were pretty enough but when I showed up to work, everyone told me to go back and get them redone because I couldn't see the scuff mark she left on my tips and my nails were already scratched up, forming these weird bubbles at the top. So I came back the next day to ask her to just redo them and to shape them how I wanted her to shape the mind you she charged me $50 for short almond nails with a white tip on them and I even tipped $10 for them. She proceeded to yell at me saying none of her customers ever came back to her, asking her to redo nails and that I'm the first one as she was just so out of proportion acting crazy yelling at me in front of others and even when I was the last one in the shop basically telling me that there's nothing wrong with clearly there was even the first lady when I walked in there she saw there was something wrong with my nails and called her over. Even though Julie had no clients from 5 to 7 PM. She had an attitude with me when she should be grateful. At the end, she has the audacity to ask me to give her five more dollars because she made my nails shorter. AFTER SHE ASKED ME THIS HER FRIEND STARTED LAUGHING ON SOME BULLY BEHAVIOR.! I should've just not gave her the five dollars and asked her to take it out of her tip from them day before because she was nowhere near deserving of even getting a tip. IT TOOK HER CLOSE TO AN HOUR TO JUST DO FRENCH TIPS SHE CANNOT DO FRENCH TIPS JUST ADMIT THAT YOU CANT AND DONT REDO THEM FIVE TIMES OVER ON A SINGLE NAIL!!! Do not go to Julie if you want someone who is half blind to do your nails I feel bad for those who are her clients. If you can't be criticized, honestly, you shouldn't even be working in a nail salon. You should be somewhere practicing how to do nails because I have never been more disgusted with somebody who can't do nails and complains when someone comes back to get the nails redone because you've never learned to properly do nails. One more thing to add, she had the audacity to tell me that my nails were messed up already before I even came there which defeats the purpose of me even coming to you to fix my nails because if you claim you're so good at what you did on my nails The day before then why couldn't you even fix what I brought you? You know you're in the wrong Julie do not go to her if you want your nails to look like somebody did them while blindfolded And to torture your nails even more by digging into your skin just because she's mad.
