I spent months looking into into IPL and seeing how it would react with other skin products that I use. I decided to make an appointment for IPL, however, I then found out I had an interview 3 days after my appointment so I emailed the place to see what their thoughts were. I got an email stating that it wouldn't be a good idea because my face would be darker before falling off, which I already knew so I agreed as well. I decided to just come for a consultation and a facial. When I got there, Maxine was very confused as to why I was there. I explained it to her, and she said that I could still do IPL. I was nervous. I showed her every single product I was using on my face and all it's ingredients. I told her that I was nervous about IPL because of my interview and she insisted that my face would actually look better rather than worse because she did not feel that I had much hyperpigmentation. She also went ahead and said " I met people like you before" making fun of the fact that I actually do my research and get nervous about procedures on my face. I don't know about you but this is a normal way to react to your own face! My face was burnt-- first degree burn. I sent pictures to Maxine the next day and she said " I didn't anticipate for your face to be sensitive". She then wanted to give me a " calming facial" but told me to come that day. I couldn't come. She was also closed Sunday and Monday I believe because the nExt day she offered to as Tuesday. I don't live in Philadelphia, and I had to go back to work- and last time I checked, facials don't cure first degree burns. She then sent me some hydroquinone for my face to my house to use-- 2%. This is something you can just get over the counter. This Wasn't anything special. She doesn't offer any money back, no refund, no nothing. I basically paid almost 200 dollars to add dark spots to my face and burn my face. I don't recommend this place to anyone. It's just throwing your money away.

I made an appointment, confirmed via text, and drove to the office. During the pandemic, you're required to call when you arrive and they'll let you into their space. I called, they said they had tried to reach me to see if I wanted an online appointment instead and if I'd rather do that. Was very confused because I was literally asking them to open the door for me, standing AT THEIR OFFICE. They let me in, but it felt like they didn't want me there. When I got there I waited like 3 minutes (I think I was the only customer) for the doc to see me. My consultation was on laser hair removal but dr.anu quickly let me know I was not a good candidate (apparently you have to be super hairy with thick dark hair). It was literally a 5 minute interaction and then I left. On one hand I nearly felt it a waste to have come to the office, but on the other, I appreciated that she was honest and didn't try to sell me on anything. I'd say based on the consultation alone, I didn't really find this place comforting or friendly at all. However, it might have just been because of the pandemic? They offer a lot of spa services and definitely were the most responsive out of the multiple med spas I called. I got my lips done and loved them in 2017. I went back again for touch ups and again for more filler over a course of time! She injected incorrectly in my mucocutaneous line, also known as the wet dry boarder, which caused this. (I'm not a professional, obviously this is what I have been told when searching for places to get my lips fixed!) She lifted up my lip and injected underneath and once finding out what happened to my lips, I asked why this happened and she said she didn't even inject there. Things like this can happen, When the lips migrate I get that, however, when an injector injects right into that spot underneath your lips, and then lies, that's a big difference !!! When going back, doctor Brenza kicked me out of the office and told me I was never allowed to return. I went to many different doctors and they said she has to be the one to fix it and dissolve it. One plastic surgeon even wrote her a letter saying that it may need to be cut out at this point bc it could be scar tissue. My lips are so un even. I found one doctor that did try dissolving it and it didn't budge.. however, nobody wants to try to refill them, she should fix them. I have tried to reach out to her because the last picture is 2023 TODAY my lips look worse and the lumps underneath are bigger than before. She ignores all my messages when all I ask her to do is look at them to see if there is anything she could do. Just be careful if you ever go here!!!! She fooled me with being the nicest person ever!! Also, don't try and say you tried to fix the problem like you do in these other comments. You left me with botched lips for years and they have only gotten worse! I will continue to spread the word.

Today 10/14 I thought about the $100.00 fee to talk to someone was high so I tried calling them no one answered on either phone line and you couldn't leave a message to cancel the appointment. I emailed them to cancel the appointment. Garden Medical Spa called me back and would not refund the $100.00 charge because I didn't give them 48 hours notice. There was no way I could give 48hr notice if the appointment was on the 15th. I was not told of such policy nor did I sign anything to agree to this charge. Bad business.
